I just wrote this.. figured I'd see what you thought.... It's actually a song, but that's what poetry is, right?


I didn't want to leave that way
Too many words in the air, floating away
Silence in the tears, sliding through the years
Know what I want, but not what I need to say

When we've lost something we can't replace
Painting smiles upon my face
Apart it seems, still in dreams
Dancing shadows ghostly grace

In time I'll pay for the hours I've taken
Penance for the cages I've shaken
The miles I've worn, the ties I've torn
I wish I could give it all back

Love is the ghost, cruel and high
For her have men bled and died
Weeping sorrow, till tomorrow
It's for her the masses cry

So this my dear is why I must be
Cutting the ties casting to the sea
All that we'd become, till the senses numbed
Leaving walls with memory

At the grave(Repost from Forum: Dark and brooding)

I see him from afar,
The it is sunny and the wind of moving eastward,
He is kneeling,
This is all I can see,
The closer I get, The more curious I am.

I am near him,
I see him kneeling,
I hear a happy birthday to you tune,
The man is crying, The sadness in his eyes,
The tears running down his face,
The shadow of the gravestone hovering over him,
As if trying to comfort him,
As if trying to tell him, Everything is going to be okay,
As if rubbing his back like a mother would do to her son when he is in pain,
Surely, The Angels of the Lord were there comforting this man,
I have never wept for anyone like so,
Yet this man, He is in deep pain.
Truly, the one he is visiting, he cared for much.

Somehow and for some reason,
His pain, his sadness and his sorrow,
I can feel it, He weeps for someone that is dear to him,
Why do I feel pain now? Why do I feel the tears streaming down my soft cheeks,
The pain, it hurts so much, Is this what is it to weep for those before us?
Does life truly succumb to this?
Will I be remembered as such when it is my time?
Will I weep as such when someone dear to me leaves me?

The mans pain, So real.
I can not forget this,
The image of this man weeping,
Truly, he weeps for someone he loved.
I wish to go to him, To tell him, I feel his pain,
Sadly so, I feel it to this day,
For I have never forgotten the song in which he weeps.
Even now, sometimes I remember this man,
And I cry. . . .

Hi Miss Newlysingle41,

Thank you for your comments, I appreciate them much. The poem is a true story, I was about 15 at the time. I was with my father and his girlfriend, we were visiting her father's grave. I tended to wander around the cementary just to look around. As I wandered around I saw this man kneeling and as I went closer I could see he was crying very heavily. He had a post card with it singing to the tune, Happy Birthday to you.Than I just paused and for a moment, I felt what that man was feeling; I was so chalked up with emotion it was unreal. To this day, I never forget it and I don't think I will ever.

I am here

The deep blue sky,
Majectically she above us she stands,
Just below, Mother Earth.
The birds singing their Godly song to one another,
The squirrels plying with one anothe,
Chaasing one another back and forth,
As if playing the the childly game of tag,
Not far from yonder, a wolf tending to her young,
All cubs cling to their mother comfort,
They clling to her to feel safe and for the milk she feeds them,
They cling to her for the warm and caring love, A family.

The skies companions, the clouds, the sun and the moon,
Slowly the clouds begin to fill the sky,
Little by little the sky slowly shrinks,
The deep snow white clouds become more and more.
And than. . . .As nature would have it,
The deep blue sky is gone,
She is now filled with snowy white clouds.

Now the clouds begin to turn from harmless white to a death sickening dark blue gray,
The birds that once roamed the area and sang their Heavenly song, They top singing,
The childful squirrels that once ran about, Now they seek safety,
The once calm and soft wind has now stopped blowing against the trees,
Silence has comr across the land,

From above the sky produces and flashing light,
Across the land and from afar and into the clouds,
You can this spectacle of lights, They branch out among the cluds and the sky,
Some touching the ground and others staying among the clouds in the Heavens,
The majestica sight has even the natives in awe,
The sky, the clouds the special lights froom them, It is alive,
For each light born of the sky and the clouds, It roars,
The roaring sound of a lion living among the Heavens.

As if the sky is speaking to all those near
And can hear the thunderous lightening his song.
Than suddenly, silence. . . .

Slowly and one by one, droplets of water begin,
They begin their descent from the sky,
Soon o ne drop becomes many more,
Alas, it is raining heavily together with the clouds making the roaring thunder.

Th rain trickles down the dry land,
It feeds the Earth,
The Earth is having its fields fed,
Those in the trees are being wet,
Those on the ground are also being wet,
Anyone near the rains are being soaked in nature's rain.

Sunndyly, the rain subsides,
The deep blue sky that once filled the sky,
It is trying to come out from within the clouds,
Slowly, And surely, the deep blue sky pushes the clouds away,
Finally, the sun's gleaming rays of sun light finally pushout from the clouds,
In unison with the deep blue sky, They shine and fill the sky with light,

And over yonder,
Several miracles are taking place,
Hatchlings from a birds nest, They begin to hatch,
Shortly after, they too begin to sing their Heavenly song,
As if to tell their parents, We are alive!

As the miracle of birth is taking place,
Another is taking place,
From the sky, An arc with glistening colors is being formed,
Across the sky from one part of the land to the other,
A rainbow is formed,
To those who can see it,
It is a miracle among miracles,
It's sight is amazing,
The colors that it bears, It is too many count,
It is as if someone is trying to say something from the Heavens,
It is as if someone is trying to say something many longing to hear,
But by this sight, They hear the words being told to them in their hearts,
. . . .I am the Lord and I love you all. . .
. . . .For you always. . . .I am here. . . .

From a rose. . .

I do not know who she is,
She is unlike others I have come across in my life,
Her love is addicting, her passion is excruciating,
Her passion is captivating, she is the light on the dark side.

Her kiss is poisonous, and more and more we kiss,
The more I fall under her spell,
I am doing the one thing I promised I would never do,
I have fallen in love with her.

For she is a delicate rose without thorns,
And I can hold her in any way,
She is my power, my pleasure and my pain,
She brings light into my life, my life of darkness.

I call her my rose,
Again she kises me,
I feel pain, I feel pleasure and I feel love,
I am confused over these feelings,
What should I do?

The more we are together,
The more I wish for my rose to stay,
For she is truly the light on the darkside of me. . .
She is my rose in the midst of my own hell. . .

The Sorrow Of Love

The brawling of a sparrow in the eaves,
The brilliant moon and all the milky sky,
And all that famous harmony of leaves,
Had blotted out man's image and his cry.

A girl arose that had red mournful lips
And seemed the greatness of the world in tears,
Doomed like Odysseus and the labouring ships
And proud as Priam murdered with his peers;

Arose, and on the instant clamorous eaves,
A climbing moon upon an empty sky,
And all that lamentation of the leaves,

You are the day of many seasons;
Thy night's of endless wonder.
The summer day morns, upon, shimmering watered shores

HELLO,

I feel as tho I am seeing once again an old friend,To
feel the smooth hardness of a pen,
Again as the ink flows smoothly from this quill,I feel
it as becoming as the blood that flows through my
fingers,
To grasp once again thine own imagination,To put forth
into words again the feelings from within my soul,
capturing the captivating ideas and dreams which abound
in abundance deep from the source of all that seems as
magic,But in reality,Is only thyself,
So once again I greet thee with the warmest and most
sincere feelings of LOVE,So you shall feel and see that
what I say is truth,
Here is a story,One I feel you shall enjoy as much as I
do,Although at this time I cannot finish this story as I
would like to,
I shall continue it untill its end,
For now.

WE met one day not long ago,
I remember the day to be
pleasantly warm.
As are the first weeks of spring,
when all awakens from the slumber
of a cool winter.

The Sun was shinning brightly
from a cloudless day,
For the first spring storm's
have just passed.

Leaving behind a clarity so clean
and so pure,
That to just breath the air
was an exhilerating thing.

One to be savored and enjoyed
as a fine wine,
slowly and teasingly, lightly tossed
about the palate,
Enjoying in its simple sweetness,
The joy of living.

So it was when I first laid my
eyes upon you,
and saw the beauty pouring forth
from within.

I knew then as I felt a stirring
deep within my chest,
That my heart had been stirred
once again.

A feeling that I almost did not
recognize at first,
For I have denied myself,the pleasures
and the pain,
That always seem to follow this thing
called LOVE.

Yet I could not deny those feelings,
As I could not deny,
how awe struck I was in those first
few moments of your presence,

Rude and impolite I felt
as I stared,
Not being able to remove my eyes
from you.

Then as I stammered a simple hello,
Wanting at that moment to just capture and
hold you in my arms,

To look into your eyes,
To the depths of your
soul,

To feel there the passion I saw
in your first glance,
As our eyes met from seemingly
far away,

At that moment I knew then,
From within,
That the stirring I felt was the ember of the
Purest fire known to all living things,

And the longer I stayed
in your presence,
The more I felt the winds blowing
confusingly through my soul,
Stirring the ember into a flame.

But before I fall helpless into the
consuming fire.
Where nothing matters but to feel
you near.

I grip myself so strongly that I feel the
very foundation of my being
is shaken,
As does the earth before being split
wide asunder.

From the eruption of a volcano spewing forth
an explosion of passion,
That has been kept to long.

So I felt,Strange ,
as you spoke your first words
to me.

Not hearing your words,
For your voice was as
music to my ears.

As the sound of crystal and
silver chimes,
Being softly stirred by a slow
breeze.

Calmly soothing all inhibitions,
Holding me ,
as in a trance.

Reveling in the sheer beauty of its sound,
Even now I can hear your voice,
Softly spoken,
Yet strong and clear.

Then I heard you laugh,
and I felt my heart leap in joy.
How pure,I thought,
Knowing That I would love to always
see you smile and laugh.
Never being sad,

But I knew not how,
For I had fallen into a stupor,
I knew not what to say,
For I could not tell you how I felt,
I was afraid you would... laugh,

For that I could not blame you,
For who was I to you,
We just met only a few moments ago,

What would be the chance of you,
feeling the same for me?
Could I build a future on a chance
meeting?

A glance caught so fleetingly,
It seemed as a dream.

But yet I did see something,
And I felt a stirring not only from myself,
But from you also!

And what a stirring it must have been,
To find the ember that I thought,
was buried forever.

Only now what to do?
Do I watch,
as you go on?
Never to know of my passion
for love,

Never to know the feeling of you held tightly,
in my arms,
Whispering my love to you?

Ahhh......
If some things were not so complicated
in life,

I wish I could tell you,

Someday..........
Someday.......
