How many of you actually live near a beach?Page 2 of 5    (1, 2, 3, 4, 5)
I'm very close to the Atlantic and some nice beaches... but I've only been there for dates.
I just realized that and have no idea why that is... since I love the ocean so much.

One of the Great Lakes (Huron) is 3/4 mile due east - the public beach is only 1 1/2 miles.

I could use a sway bar bracket (and the mounting bolt) for an '88 Hyundai Excel, production date is 5/19/88, so it uses the second design. Take a 14mm wrench and just reach under the radiator. The bracket is bolted to the front crossmember, and it doesn't matter if you get the left or right, they're interchangeable.

You'll have to fly into Detroit to deliver it. (They have beaches there, too. But, I don't think normal people visit them after dark.) Don't dally, the water temp is starting to drop and soon you'll need a windbreaker for that walk in the sand. The good ice cream place has already closed for the season - you can still get frozen yogurt at the other place.

Email me your flight information and I'll send you a current copy of the bus schedule so you can finish your trip in style. It's about 200 miles to my place from the Detroit airport, and you'll have a layover at the bus terminal in Flint. Should be a very interesting & educational experience for you - something to tell the grandkids about, if you live through it.

I'm about 30 yards from the dock. About a mile (walk) from a sandy beach; about 1/10 of a mile as the crow flies.

I agree that there are a disproportionate amount of "beach date" suggestions in profiles, though. Very observant.

The State of Maine alone has about 3,500 miles of coastline, and even if all the profiles were from Maine, it'd be disproportionate!

Have a pond we built in the front yard does that count? No I don't live any where close to a beach. Lots of creeks though. Good thing they aren't close to the pond.

I am a five minute walk from a beautiful beach with an 85 acre waterfront park ... however if the date is perfect, i will be more than happy to buy white beach sand , poor it on my bathroom floor and create the fantasy!

So... here we are again, all with people who live on or near the water, actually supporting the notion that every PoF date could include a walk on the beach.

Anyone not? lol

For 35 years I lived over-looking Lake Erie. Nice tourist town. But now I am 10 minutes up the Lake from there. Don't miss it one bit. I figured I would but nope. No bars, no tourists, no sirens, no lights, pure peace and quiet. I often wondered the men want to take us near water? Seems they have the big delusion that we like water or parks or something like that. hahahahaa I can think of better things. Heck a mall would be better than that.

I live in Myrtle Beach, SC.....less than 5 minutes from the ocean. I'm from Hawaii, so I feel like I have to be near the ocean, just more comfortable for me.

I live just outside of San Diego....20 minutes to the West is the Pacific Ocean, 15 minutes to the South is Mexico, and 23-30 minutes to the East are the mountains...sounds perfect, huh?....but I don't want to be here.......I want to be in Ohio....

LOL! The ice here stays until sometime in late March or early April....if I had a scanner, I'd post a pic of the ice on the beach of Lake Michigan here. It goes out from a few to several dozen (?) feet, depending on how cold it's been, and it looks as if the waves near the shore have been frozen. It's quite beautiful if you do in fact stay in the car. lol

I'm about 15 min to the beach from my house. If the darn buildings would get out of the way I could see the water from my sundeck!

Here in Vancouver we are right on the Pacific and it's unbelievably beautiful. There is a seawall that runs all the way along the water in Stanley Park, and it's always packed with folks day and night, summer and winter. Luckily it never gets too hot or too cold here so we can do that.

Sabby.

I'm about a 5 min walk down to the White Rock beach. White Rock is just south of Vancouver and on the Canada/USA border. I have a view of the water from my front room. Life is great!
