And no, we are not deleting the lockout year when we say "decade" because a decade is a decade.

^ even in the hockey world, the lockout season is considered. So no matter how you slice it, the media & the rest of the hockey world will report it as 2 appearances in the last decade. Sorry to burst you rose-coloured bubble, smack.

how ever game 1 and game 7 against the canes were great games. that had to be one of the top 5 best game 7's for the cup.

I'd have to say that games 1 and 5 were the best games...but I know why you liked those two games.



ohhh and if were going by just decades then 2 but the decade isn't over yet only year 6. if were going by the most standard for of deacade which is 00-09..... i'll drop it if you drop it.

^ Gawd! Do I ever remember that like it was yesterday! The sad truth is that the series was over long before that...like game 1. The Sens just didn't have what it took to win. So much talent, but they're missing those intangibles that pulls teams to the finals.

@z24chevy: I was hoping and praying for the Sens to beat the Leafs every playoff year, but they would tease us and tease us...even get up 3-1 in a series, only to blow the remaining games. It was there and then that I began to realize that this team was talented as all hell, but had no heart and grit. I guess they were a little too european. I remember some classic series against Philly as well. One of my favourite Sens moments was beating NJ at their own game, the trapping and heavy forechecking...that was awesome!!


I have no idea what you are talking about Tick tock.... the Sens won game 1 thanks to an Overtime goal by Shaun Van Allen on a tip from a Martin Havlat shot. So NO the series wasn't over in game 1


Sorry...I should have been a little more clear in my post. I was saying that I remember that series, but the next sentence was referring to this years' playoffs against Buffalo. I can see how my sentence was misleading though.

Good gawd! I don't think I've seen these many players request trades/etc. because of "family" in any of the years I've been watching. Did Pronger open the floodgates by his public request? Now everyone and their dog will think it's OK to request a trade if they're not happy with their location.

Anyhow, you guys should be looking at fast, mobile defencemen. I know there isn't a crapload of them out there. How much cap room do the Habs have?

^ If it had happened in the 2006 playoffs, it would have been a good BOA...with the Oil winning of course. Who knows how the 06/07 BOA will turn out especially with all the changes and adversity the Oil have faced this off season.

I'm happy that we have hockey again in Cincinnati, albeit ECHL, but we're affiliated with Montreal and Hamilton, so I'm stoked!

As for the NHL, I'm still true-Blues and hope the new regime clicks right away!

Who knew Buffalo would actually keep high salaries?
Yay Trades! Anyone worth anything should go to Calgary, and everyone else should go to Edmonton or Vancouver.

The Oil look outstanding in terms of offence this year. I was a little worried after the fiasco after last years playoffs, but they look dangerous this year. Look for the Oilers to place in the top 3 of the division.

Best game of the season, thus far: Buffalo/Montreal. Was that as close to a playoff game as it get?!! I couldn't figure out why both teams were playing so hard for the victory so early in the season and were the fans ever jacked up.

As much as I hate to say it, the Nucks might even be a wildcard this year. Who knows, they might even finish in the top 4 or fall off the face of the planet. Then there is always the Ducks. They have the potential to lead the division...or perhaps even the Sharks...yikes!! I guess there are no certainties this year, smack.

Rangers kept coming from behind against the flyers last night and ended up winning in a shootout... 13 rounds.. Marek Malik was seen warming up on the bench in case it went 18 rounds.... LOL....

That's being pretty optimistic, Smack. I'd place the Oilers on that list before the Hawks. Also, there's no way the Flames get 2nd place in the standings or within 2 rounds of the SCF.
