^^What they lack in experience, they make up for in heart and fire alright. On the goaltending front they seem to have this thing for giants. LOL . The guy, Niko Hovinen, that they just grabbed off waivers from Philadelphia is 6'7" and Dubnyk's 6'6" . Duby's still a bit more hot'n cold than would be nice but hopefully he'll grow more consistent. The defense has been awful for years, but seems to be moving in the right direction finally at least.

>>Niko Hovinen

The guy was released for having no heart or mind in the game. He was great in Europe, but performed poorly here.
Instead of taking his demotion as a wake up call to be determined to get back to the AHL he ended up getting worse, showing he had no drive or heart for the game, so he was released. Good luck with him, he was projected to be good but hasn't showed any signs of even being a scrub.

I don't really see alot of need for Niko Hovinen to be much in the near future for Edmonton anyhoo. Dubnyk seems to be growing more reliable, and now that the pressure's off Khabibulin, his game seems to rebounding as well. It's likely another couple years before any notable expectations are apt to come down on the Oilers' netminders anyways. Time'll tell.

Pretty interesting that the final four teams are comprised of the last four champions.

not interesting, predictable, too bad they aren't playing hockey, Canada's game . . furthermore you will never see a Canadian team win the Stanley Cup with the current commissioner in place

bettman can't be impeached, can't kill him . .but i can continue to excoriate the piece of shit that has ruined the
game

never again under the current crooked commissioner will any of my hard earned money go to the NHL

It's only happened one other time in league history...68 years ago. When there were only six teams in the league. I would consider that to be a lot more interesting than predictable.

So far in play-off games,
Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask never allowed more than one goal in a game.

Well, not quite. That was only in the Pittsburgh series. He allowed more than one several times against the Rangers and Leafs.

That said, he was about as hot a goalie as a "hot goalie" can be against the league's highest scoring team. The rest of the team deserves some credit for that as well.

Rask up to the task again. Though not a lot of sustained pressure was put on him until Chicago pulled Crawford near the end. Since that awful first period of game 2, the Bruins scheme seems to be bottling up the Blackhawks pretty well - the shots and scoring chance statistics since then are pretty one sided.

Well, Chicago was just a little bit better. I was hoping they would turn out to be soft frauds like the Canucks a couple years ago. But instead they were a lot more Kevin Garnett "grit and balls". Just have to tip your cap to them. Had what happened last night was game 7 instead of game 6, it would have felt a hundred times worse. Good run for Boston though, starting at a time when the city could use it.

^^^^ Well, it looks like this year's " soft frauds " were the Boston neanderthals - at least the Canucks made it a 7 game series.

Perhaps Vancouver didn't have enough CANADIANS on their roster in 2011 like boston did ?

Chara disappeared the last couple games and Marchand... did he even get one point in the final ?

Chicago made Boston it's BITCH in the end !

They did the ol " rope a dope " in game 6 !

By definition, I wouldn't think a neanderthal would be considered "soft".

“Making it a 7 game series” as a heavy favorite, and then losing resoundingly on your home ice in that game 7, is generally not seen as a positive. Chicago was the best team in the league all season, like Vancouver in 2011. I don’t see how this year’s Bruins can be considered soft or frauds for making it to game 6 of the Finals against them as a #4 seed, when not many gave them a chance to even get by Pittsburgh. With every game in those Finals being a hard fought battle coming down to the very end. Compare that to Vancouver’s four losses in the 2011 Finals by a combined score of 21-4….when many said that Boston would be lucky to even “steal” one game.

Perhaps Vancouver didn't have enough CANADIANS on their roster in 2011 like boston did ?

So now you’re saying that those Canadians still on Boston’s roster are soft frauds? You seem to be taking my statement about Vancouver personally as some sort of anti-Canada sentiment just because of where the team plays. I realize that Vancouver’s roster wasn’t all Canadians, and that Boston’s roster had many Canadians....that rosters are made up of players of several nationalities, and that the 2011 finals was not “USA vs Canada”. I would actually root for certain Canadian teams over certain American teams.

Chara disappeared the last couple games and Marchand... did he even get one point in the final ?

Chara looked like a 36 year old who had logged a ton of minutes over the last several weeks in a brutal sport – dead tired. As for Marchand, no, I don’t think he did…but he’s not exactly considered on the level of a Crosby or even a 2011 Sedin.

Chicago made Boston it's BITCH in the end !

Can’t really argue that. The Boston championship drought continues!
