Try harder to knock the best European captain.

Were the Wings thinking of trading Lidstrom?

"Sundin and GM Ferguson have denied reports taht Sundin might consider a trade if the Leafs fall out of playoff contention."

The Leafs Have Fallen!

When were they in Playoff contention?

Trade Sundin now because his value will never be higher and they will not win with him.

The Leafs do not need help this year. They need help in future years. Sundin should be packaged for a combination of younger players and draft picks. They need to blow it up and rebuild. This group will not make the playoffs this year nor next year. Sundin is a valuable asset that is most valued through trade.

Personally I hope they don't trade him...the Leafs as is, are the best Laugh in sports. Lets keep the comedy rolling...er skating.

Pucky tell me a team that hasn't gone out in the first round.

The Wings playoff record over the last 5 years is in the top 4 of the confrence.
Last years run to the confrence final proved that they are a playoff ready team.
Wont it be fun watching the All Star game as 3 Wings start the game?

Congradulations to Riverside Ontario product Joel Quennville I remember him in high school back when he was staring for the hometown Windsor Spitfires.

Milbury said it right on TSN last night, the Leafs need fundamental changes at the top.

As for the old fart Hasek he just pitched back to back shutouts...Leafs should be so lucky. Oh but they did get a shutout last night!

They lost 5-0 last night. Yup they are going far with Sundin. Look what Philly has done after trading Forsberg.

Yup, those kids really are something! They've managed to surpass my wildest expectations and I'm hoping that one day they do sign them to longterm contracts.

Don't worry about Hasek his numbers over the last month are greatly improved.

Pucky the Wings have to throw in a loss once a month just to keep the other
teams from quiting!
Come the first round you and I will have to have a little friendly bet?

Ok ,Pucky and Ticky if the Wings lose in the first round this year I leave this thread for the remainder of the playoffs and if the Wings win in the first round you both stay out for the remainder of the playoffs.

Agreed?

Sure, why not? The only time the Wings have proven me wrong in recent memory was last year...and that's after they finally realized they have to adjust their style of playing.

Pucks has a point, though. It is a certain type of team that will catch the Wings off guard and hand them a shocking loss. Like the underdog Flames or Ducks or Oilers. The components have to be there. I could see the Avs or the Blues taking down the Wings in the playoffs.

Wow you guys are smart. I would never have thought that one team could beat another in the playoffs?
If you read back I proved earlier that the Wings playoff record is on of the best in the confrence. Only Ahaheim in the last 3 yrs is better.

The Wings record just looks worse because of their great regular seasons and their 3 Cups in the last 10 yrs.
But the facts prove otherwise.

Earlier you said the Preds also and the Sens? Not sure how the Sens can do that but hey its your game Pucky.

So what exactly is your list of teams that will beat the Wings in the first round? I will give you any of them?

Just ask the Oilers, Predators, Wild and Sens.
In fact the the teams with the most success against the Wings this year are the ones fighting for the last playoff spots in their conference.
Chicago has beaten the Wings 3 times this year. The ST Louis Blues as well. Not once, not twice but 3 wins for the Blues this season against Detroit. WOW. So yup their are teams that can beat the Wings.

Pucky you are back peddling so fast you might just race out the back door with the Zamboni.

Ok Pucky so you don't want to back up your statements. I guess you feel the Wings are a little stronger all of a sudden. You let me know about the friendly bet if you change your mind when the matchups materialize.

He sure is, he sure is I get a good laugh at how defensive he gets and how subjective his responses are. Poor Wings fan...tsk tsk. I especially get a laugh at how he has to call you "Pucky" or call me "Ticky"
