I just really do like the Flames, they are alot like me most of the times the underdog that makes it worth while to watch win lose or draw
yes...i can see the similarities...cats choke on hairballs...flames choke in the playoffs...
on a serious note...it is fun to have you in the forums with us and hopefully one day you will cheer for the right Albertan team...until then...cheers

we're getting the Lightning/Devils game on TSN over here... and man oh man, those preds are two games away from tying the Leafs record for consecutive wins at the start of a season.
@char: the name of that player was Robbie Schremp...he's amazing...can't wait to see him in an Oiler uniform next year.

NJ could be in some big trouble now

Flames didn't choke in the finals, they just met a much better team that's it... unlike my Ottawa Sens who keep choking against the big bad Leafs lol... Now that's choking for you right there!!!

yup, i was pretty stunned by that comeback....i was watching the canucks/avalanche game at a packed bar in vancouver and when the score updates came in, everyone cheered for the penguins...it was surreal

so true...i think that things had reached a boiling point the other day when they had to restrain mario from going after the ref....i don't think i've seen him that frustrated in years...felt sorry for him
by the way, one of my friends works for a canadian airline, so he can fly for next to nothing to any destination...anyhow, being a huge hockey fan, he was naturally interested in seeing crosby play with mario and since the new schedules are designed such that we don't see the penguins play in town this year, he actually bought tickets online for a game in buffalo, ny, and flew down there to watch the game

^^^ funny how we do that, eh? i mean, i grew up in the city that had the oiler dynasty of the '80s and i only went to a handful of games....and then there are people like my friend who travelled around 5,000 -6,000 km at his own expense to see crosby play - and the penguins aren't even HIS team. life is funny sometimes
Posted: 10/28/2005 5:08:31 PM
^^^ isn't it that way with everything in life...
yup, if i could do it all over again, i would have gone to almost every game...dang!
Posted: 10/28/2005 5:32:06 PM
^^^ that's awesome! now that's a story that will trump everyone else's story
Posted: 10/29/2005 1:22:09 AM
Hello?!?!? Everyone forgot about this ol' sufferin' Oiler fan over here....where's the love???

^^^ hey!!! you're awake!!! congrats on the victory! here's to us!

Oh Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes. Hockey is finally back.
I know I've been spoiled these last ten years or so, but still gotta love my wings.
Go Detroit. may we quaff from Lord Stanley's chalice yet again.

don't think Domi is too bright so lord knows what that mental midget might do
hope the sens beat the leafs too cuz if they got thru the habs they can get thru the damn leafs!!!! lol
Posted: 10/29/2005 6:12:44 PM
The leafs look like a drunken pick up team tonight. They are not even trying any longer. I wouldn't be surprised to see a 9-0 score or something brutal here.

I have the inside track on Tonights Leafs/Sens game ...was this from the same fellow that tried to sell you Bre-X stock?
Final will be 6-4 for TO - Belfour is gonna get hurt and Alfredsson is gonna get hit by domi and when Alfredsson stands back up, his hair will be long again lol
PS. How about them Oilers!! Hey cat, what's happening to the flamers
@char: thanks for the hug!

How about those Carolina Hurricanes!!!!!!Two Words-Eric Staal
Posted: 11/1/2005 4:48:36 PM
Still trying to comprehend the 8-0 lashing the Sens unleashed on the Leafs...yikes!!!!
Tonight the Oil face off against the Blue Jackets....sending positive vibes~~~~~!!!!
APB on cat...apparently she is in hiding...suspect is described as having an illogical affinity for the lessor of the two alberta hockey teams....
Posted: 11/1/2005 4:50:44 PM
Ward's got it but he needs to prove himself. If the goaltending stays solid thay can definitely compete with the top teams. Time will tell with Staal as well but he's got lots of skill.

^^^ Yup, baby...our Oilers are looking good and Hemsky has finally woken up...some real tests coming up soon in D-troit and Dallas

Being a Connecticut native, I have to ask..since a salary cap has been created are small-market teams such as Hartford, Quebec and Winnipeg worthy of another go? They were all well supported despite sometimes having poor teams..and after all who doesn't miss Brass Bonanza?.....da da da da-da-da-da-dah, da-da da-da-da-da-daaah!!!
Posted: 11/2/2005 5:51:32 PM
Ouch!!-Hartford's only a small town if you pass NY on the way in!! There is a lot of money in CT and a lot of serious hockey fans, too. The problem there wasn't the fans or support but the management. Smaller cities can sometimes create more loyal fans than the bigger ones. (look at Columbus)
Posted: 11/2/2005 6:49:24 PM
what a beating the Sens laid out on the helpless Sabres tonight! Yikes!!! 10-4...who's afraid of the big, bad Sens?? I am...hehe...I bet Biron will have nightmares about Alfredsson, Havlat, Spezza and Heatley
Posted: 11/3/2005 1:01:50 AM
yup cat, it seemed like you couldn't turn your eyes away for 2 secs without missing another goal...men playing with boys...Sens are looking pretty scary this year
@shappy: yup, it will be interesting when they play Hasek against the Lightning tomorrow night...now that should be a great game to watch. and i completely agree about Ottawa's goaltending situation is much better without Lalime
