Anderson is a marginal Hall of Famer.
Cups should not be a factor.
Gilmour and Ciccarelli have off ice issues which will hold them up.

Smack you are so wrong.
No Great One no Messier.

Ok so two cups gets you in.

Draper(4), McCarty(4), Maltby(4), Osgood(3), and just about all the Wings after they win again next year, All going to the Hall of Fame?

"Think McFly, Think!"

Also by your standard Iginla will not enter the Hall of Fame.

Mine also. Very good players in their era. Go Bruins. Now, who is looking forward to next year. I know I am. Can't wait for the 1st drop of the puck. I plan on getting the NHL center Ice package so I can watch my home town Bruins. I live here in NC, where the Canes seem to rule the roost, but anytime the B's are in town, I wear my colours.

Very good list of all-stars. And yes, Doug Gilmour should lead that list. Even though Barrasso is a hometown favorite of mine, (growing up in Mass.), he has not got enough time yet. Same with Bure. Ciccarelli who? He played where? In Detroit? Too many before him. The next guy in line should be Carbonneau. Where I come from, Esposito, Orr, Cheevers, and a few others have a bvetter shot. I guess I am alittle biased.

Interesting in that the Wings did not pursue Hossa.
Rather Hossa initiated(through his agent) the talks with Ken Holland(genius).
Hossa took a 1 year deal with less money to sign with Detroit. This guy wants to win now!
Matts Sundin take notice.

Prediction ... Hossa scores 50 this year as Red Wings repeat.

smackem can you say 3-peat!

In other news the NHL announced today the renaming of its most coveted prize. As of July 2, 2008 the Stanley Cup will now be called the Stanley-Wing Cup!

Leaf's resign Stajan.
Flames sign Bertuzzi

There's your Stanley Cup matchup!

At least the Leafs got younger this year. (Where is Plucky)?
Flames are getting old and tired and they are just not a good playoff team.

Is the summer over yet?

Yeah, Smith is a workhorse, for sure! I remember when he was still with the Oilers and we were playing the Flames in a meaningless game towards the end of the season (since the Oil were already eliminated), he must have dropped to block slapshots 3 or 4 times in the last minute of the game. What a stallion! If anything, he leads by example. He does have his drawbacks, but he can be a thorn in the side of many players - ask Sid the Kid.

Finally Ottawa did something I liked.....getting a hard nosed defensive leader like Smith will make me forget about Reddin real quick...

My fingers crossed on Theodore doing well in Washington...

I wish either Washington or Ottawa had got Avery....

Wish Ottawa had rid themselves of Gerber also

Tampa's new owners are certainly doing everything possible and I think it's going to work for them..

Burke should thank the NHL for shutting him up....he's constant crying about Lowe was making him look like an idiot

Finally, Sundin, are you NUTS? Is there anyone that wouldn't have run across the Atlantic for 20 million

I figure Bert/Ernie for 10 goals and 20 assists.
Have fun with that one in your pool choice.
He was on a downward spiral even before the Moore incident.
He's done like dinner as are the Flames with the desperate signing of him.

Smack... Draper is one of the best penalty killers in the game. One of the best face off men in the game and he does all this on the best team in hockey. There is a reason they are the best team in hockey and it's because of quality players like Draper.
Bertuzzi adds nothing ziltch, nada.

I gave up on Bertuzzi when he built that atrocious fence around his home in Kitchener(which I have seen). He's a selfish player and damaged goods.

smack don't get me wrong I like Calgary's team...just not for the same reasons as you. I like that Detroit can whip up on them every couple of years or so.

smack it's time for you to become a Red Wing fan.
Come on you can cheer for an American team.

Oh I would love it if Gerber got moved and it wouldn't hurt my feelings to have Khabibulin on my Ottawa Senators.... Nice deal for Chicago also....I thought when the got Huet and paid him the $$ they did that they wern't going to keep Khabibulin...

I think LA gets the raw end of this 3 way....

Damn I hope this happens

Has anyone heard anything about Ottawa trading with Chicago and LA with Khabibulin coming to Ottawa, Kopitar to Chicago and Mezaros's and ? to LA...

Some one in an earlier thread mentioned it and since thats the only time I've even heard of it..........so just wondering....anyone know anything about the possibility of this happening?
