Great game tonight! Hehehe!!! Gotta love it!!! The Oil putting an end to Detroit's winning streak...outstanding! dance ladybugg dance... i was sweating that game cuz those dang wings wouldn't just lay down and die...

next up, the blues...but they're one hurting team this year

And the Sens...WOW!...they look unstoppable this year...i wasn't surprised when the inevitable comparisons to the 80's Oilers would start pouring in..TSN made the comparison but i think that's going a little far

@NY:
Yup, those Rangers are quite the different team this year....not only are they winning regularly but doing it against teams that always had their number in the past...how many times have they beat NJ this year? 2?

No worries, NY...i used to love Toccett and Anderson and Ciccarelli as well...quite the compliment if you ask me. i was just listening to sports and they said that the Rangers haven't won 2 games in a row against Jersey since the 1996 season...wow! Yup, Cujo was in fine form tonight...everything went well for Gretz and company except for that knee injury to Sanderson...couldn't be that serious since it was caused by a puck

Although I'm not an Oilers fan, I predict a win for the Oilers tonight. The Blues are pretty much nothing more than an American League Team right now. Tkachuk, Weight, Backman, all injured. The loss of Pronger and McInnis at the Blue line is hurting them quite a bit. Lalime sucks mucho @sso right now too... no wonder Ottawa got rid of mr. choker lol... On the other hand, my team, The Ottawa Senators are doing great!!! 4-2 win against the bolts last night (that's Ottawa 2, Tampa Bay 0 for mr. Lightning fan lol), 10-4 against Buffalo and 8-0 against the Leafs last Saturday, a game where the Ottawa players ran circles around the Leafs all night.. Anyone see Jeff "I back off like a chicken sh!t" O'neil when the 3rd period handed... Slashed Chara twice and when Chara made a move towards him he almost peed his pants and backed away so fast...

Well said imsensual... but don't count on the cup going back to Tampa this year.... As a Sens fan I hope it'll come to Ottawa.. but it won't make it back to Tampa Bay for sure... unless your committee finds a decent goalie for the Bolts!!!

^^^ no doubt that the Sens are the biggest contender for the Cup this year...actually that would be a great semifinal ....Sens vs. Lightning

@NY: as far as Detroit was concerned, I was watching a sports show where they mentioned in that impressive 9 game winning streak, 5 of those games were against really weak divisional opponents and that Edmonton was a much better team than the wings had been facing thus far.

Well the bolts outshot their oponents one more time... and yet lost one more time. Theodore had one of his best games of the season.. Eklund did ok but what was Tortorella thinking when he sent him out against a team who has one is last 4, as won 11 out of 15.. sits first in it's conference, second overall... Damn, talk about a lack of confidence towards Grahame...

then prepare to explode lol... Lundqvist is doing much better in net than any of the three goalies Tortorella used. Jagr is on a role.. so is Nylander and Straka... but we'll see... I must admit that I hate the blue shirts and would rather see them lose but unfortunatly I don't think the Bolts will win it tonite..

Carolina.. explanation hey.. How about: Cam Ward, Eric Staal, Eric Cole, Oleg Tverdovsky and even Josef Vasicek. They are doing good and will keep on doing so I think. Notice that the teams doing best are the teams with small fast players.. generally speaking... I know the Bolts have small palyers too but for some reason they can't seem to get it going. Now as for their present slump.. it's no better or no worse having a slump now than mid season. They are letting many points go to other teams this early. They may run out of time by end of season to rack in the much needed points to make it to the playoffs. But 2 years ago they had a similar start and turned things around so hopefully for you, they will do the same again this year.

You want to know what's wrong with the Bolts. I personally think they are still on a high from winning the cup 2 yrs ago and think they are unstoppable still but they are far from it. Funny how losing their goalie has moved them from being first in their conference to wayyyyyyyyyyy down there. I guess he was a better goalie for them that they thought.

Time they get their heads our of their asses and realize they are no better than any other team and start to gel again or they probably won't even make the playoffs this year.

Off to the leafs forum now to post about saturday night's game against the habs...i'm sure they are making excuses already that they won't win cuz they play Buffalo friday and habs on Saturday and that there is no way they can with both back to back...typical leaf excuses starting 2 days early. ... i already heard a few about saturday's game and i'm laughing at the fans feeble attempt to cover for them and the game hasn't even been played yet

go habs go!!!

hmmmmmm who haven't the sens demolished...i do recall the habs beating them lol

but in reality i'd much rather see the sens beat my team then those whiney ass leafs

Bertuzzi's coming alive and we beat the unstoppable Red Wings - second time already. Just start engraving the names on the Cup now.

Am a die hard hockey guy. Glad strike is over and my Thrahsers are playing some Defense. Scoring should be plentiful for them, but has been slow. Anyone up for going to some hockey games?

Sorry, you'd have to be as good as...oh, I don't know, the Canucks to be able to beat the Red Wings.

Wow, pressure's on lady bugg now more than the Oilers. If the Canucks and Flames both beat the Red Wings, lady bugg won't be able to hold her head up here if her team loses to them.

^ ^^the greatest player ever to play the game on the greatest team to ever play the game from the better of the two major Albertan cities. Does that help?

OK...I'm back....hey kitty cat...were you aware of the fact that the only way that the flames can have a winning product is by having 5 edmontonians in their regular lineup? And their best player is from...ahem...where??

@ cat:

with that win against the wings the Flames are now #1 in the northwest conference

nope, they are #2 in the Northwest Division behind the Canucks who still have 2 games in hand

I was just watching a movie ("Derailed") where one of the guys who was black liked hockey. When asked why, he responded with "more gore, less bore"...lol

hey cat, while they are tied in points, and number of wins, the canucks have less losses and more goals for...which is why they are above the Shames in the Division. This is also why the Canucks are in second place in the Conference, while the Shames are in 5th...remember that if the playoffs were to start today...the stats would place the Canucks ahead of the Flames based on these numbers

...added bonus, the three games the Canucks have in hand on the Flames virtually guarantees that we'll maintain our position...unless, of course, the Nucks lose all three games and continue losing while the Flames keep on winning at their current rate

here's the link for the conference standings as of today: http://www.nhl.com/standings/20052006/conference_standings.html

and don't worry about ladybugg...i'll never make her choose between her two loves...we share the same mistress
