WE'LL never stop learning about our musical instrument.....
depending on "how the mood strikes you/us" ......you'll notice how the (ie. guitar) voice can change by how hard you hit the strings / tapping/your picking hand mutes the strings / pick vs: thumb and finger ?
or your left hand.....what is it doing "as the mood strikes you ?" is it muting or tap'n / harmonics / with your right hand ?
as the mood strikes you....maybe you want to use drop tuning ? and do some action tweeeeeking to your axe ?

something i've done in my past was "hard drive recording" i mixed some bass lines with drum pad/chnl.....pretty cool effect. (even tho, i dont know what i'm doing, more creative music)

its all good....i'll alway find something new to my guitar playing....
or gear....incl pedals ?

cheers dudes

i also traded some other gear that i had when i was a kid.....and ended up with a strat !!!!!!!!
the amp....the pre bass and strat are so noisy.....i cant be bother to play them....but....the strat thru the fender bassman is wild and unheard of !
i use to play at high school dances back in my old school days !

@ late™

Easy fix, I bet I could even walk you through it, ....probably no more that $30 in parts, unless it needs tubes, then tack on another $35. It needs new electrolytic filter capacitors, ....I'd bet you a case o' beer
=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_=_
hey dude....when i get back to ontario (home #1) i'll scan the diagram of the head and send you pictues with me sporting my old fenders strats/pre !
about the case of beer....is it just one ? thats all ? hahahahaha

hey you guys talking about brass machining ???? whats the web site url addi ?

anyway....thx late™ for the amp info "wow...who'd think , pof thread would have guitar equipment guru"?

cheers

i remember sunn amps....back in mid / late 60s....hendrix and many others rigged up with sunn...
ahhhh yes...the great jaco pastorius ....just awesome ....
as your memory serves you right and you recall musicians back in the day play'n at local bar/s....
i remember joe walsh playing in windsor ontario doing regular house gigs ..... always heard about jimi hendrix would play a lot of local windsor bars as well and many others back in the early part of the 60s ???

@ Gman
thx for the link dude !!!

Hahahahahaa.....oh yes , back in the day (35 years ago !)
my daughter emailed me this old photo so i could display some of the old gear that i still have.
i was playing 1960? Rickenbacker rigged to my fender bassman....
in this photo, we're doing a little practise and giving a lil bit of glory for the camera man.....LoL !!!!
this thread got talking about old gear....bassman and bass master....this and that....
so...i just wanted to share some of the fame

man....i sure do miss how simple music was then...."back in the day"

hey....35+ years ago for me and the rest of us kids we'd over drive the amps.
later i purchased a vox wah wah and a fuzz face.
today...you can process a signal and shape it to anything you can wish for.
hell, i remember back then....i / we would set the pickups high.....string slap against the coils, sounded pretty cool playing "peter gun"
or straight out of the amp and lots of trem....playing "the adventures....."
anyway dude....
practise , practise .....and practise

lots, one can do to their axe....
set the action for hieght and check the 12th fret....
types of coils....and tone pots....
bridge mods...
sting combining....
and...how you pick/hit the strings....(left / right hand action)

my personal amp sound is fat....i dont really like the sound of harsh tin sounds making my ears bleed....LoL

i think its fun and creative to have the same effects and play the riffs of eddy van / steve vai / joe sat / paul gilbert and the list goes on...

its more about the pentatonic/arpeggio/diatonic scales and so forth....
i agree with Late and his post about playing straight out of the amp and with some trem....
to me....the sweet spot is "the action of the hands" (sounds like a bruce lee title...haha)

cheers dude

@ late™
Good posture, - straight wrists on both hands

i couldnt agree more dude....
n'fact, when i strap on my axe...its sits high on my chest with lots of angle on the neck.
my wrists are perpendicular to the strings....(kind'a sort'of.)
if i did play the guitar at my waist...then my left hand gets all numb and no feeling....
i still have the habbit of anchoring my thumb on the neck and pinky right hand on the body....sometime.
today i just got my delta blues 30 X15 amp !!!! thx Late, its just awesome man ....

Hey GMan or Late...

Now that i got a tube amp... I want to start gettin some effects pedals,
but i remeber you guys or was it Late mentioning about analog instead
of digital... and i like that idea alot...so what would be good a analog??
what brand should i look for?...

i'd like a delay/comp/chorus/distotion, but not too heavy... more like an over drive i guess...
i play country and some 50's -70's rock my sound is the tele ..twang shit...
like a brent mason... albert lee...james burton... ray flack...
anywho im sure your getting the picture, ...i did get a nice yamaha e1005 delay
and it is awesome...

http://www.modezero.com/yamaha-e1005-e1010.htm

thx guys
I've come to respect GMan & Late ...and most of all of you pickers..
