Yes I have to agree with you its is only a number..... however you do have to have things in common with each other for it to work.... I would not date someone younger than 40 even tho I dont look my age or act it and feel confident and comfortable 10-12 years younger is enough I think!!!


Elaine2 I had to have a double take at this as you look 40 and i'm thinking 10/12 years difference and you wouldn't date anyone younger than 40? Is the woman mad?

Age is just a number for me...I know that most young guys just want the sex and sometimes, depending how I feel, that's ok with me... I am turning 52 in June, feel and look the best I ever have, confidence at a real high and that attracts all ages from 18 upwards though I do have a prefered age range on my profile... I couldn't see myself dating anyone under 36 and my last long term boy friend is 62 ... so long as he is fit and active, cares about his body and appearance, can keep up with me and we share plenty of interests then that is good for me!

I have little interest in younger men, 30 at a push is the youngest I'd probably go and only if they had children. I'm used to dating men a lot older than me but now I'd like to meet someone my age that remembers the same tv programmes growing up, listened to the same music etc
I don't want anymore children either and a lot of the younger guys do and I won't compromise on that (probably).

I cant really answer this as the question`s never arisen for me, there was 10 years between my parents ( dad being the older ), in my case, there`s never been more than 2 or 3 years difference, not sure how i`d feel getting involved with a woman "quite" younger than myself though :O)

I have had a couple of dates with a guy (he's 35) 7 years younger than myself (I'm 42) and although we got on great I do think sometimes what on earth does he see in me as his last 2 ex's were in there early twenties.......my body can't compete with a young lady in her 20's lol!
& what happens when I'm really old & wrinkly, would he trade me in for a younger model where body parts are more north than south :S

I think it's none of my business, but as you've asked, I'll elaborate.

I think there's a huge difference between meeting someone, and 'getting-on' really well with them, and becoming 'attracted' to/by them, and then subsequently discovering that there's a large age-gap, and deliberately 'targeting' only younger potential partners/'mates'. (Eg., having the maximum age of people who can mail them, set at 10 years below their own age ! )

IMO people claiming that "they only get-on with younger people" is both delusional and egotistical.
It's just "Trophy wife/husband" syndrome..
Having a younger partner doesn't 'prove' anything, neither does it stop the aging process.
You're getting old.
There's nothing "sad" about that.
Suck it up.
Live with it.
