Some do, some don't...............some love it, some hate it. It really depends on the woman for sure. Each woman is an individual, just like each man. Not all men like to hunt and fish. I am a man, and I don't care about fishing for sure..............yuck. LOL Tracy

OK.....I admit I have "fish issues" LOL

But watching sports.........there are a LOT of us women who love it!

i dont think its very sportin of folk to catch fish an then release em with sore mouths...alotta them die from oral infections afterward...an starvin is a slow painful death...so i eat what i catch...theres been a time or two my creed has left me eatin mudfish, thank tha Good Lord fer my cookin skills cause i dont allus catch tha best tastin critters!

i grew up huntin an eatin wild game...most of my family still does it...there again, we allus ate what we killed, an wasted no part of it!...but scince i have an uncanny ability to call game an have them approach me without fear, i no longer take tha lives placed in my hands....my weapon of choice is a camera that leaves no damage behind....

I work at boat dealership - and we sell mostly freshwater fishing boats. We had a bass tournement recently where out of 200 and some odd boats, more than 50 were husband/wife teams, and another 25 or so were dad/daughter teams, and we have about 5 pairs off all female teams.

And let me tell you, I know of a bunch of older women whose husbands dont drive, and these ladies tow the boat, launch it, troll all day, recover the boat and take it home. If the guys are lucky they get to pick the color when thy buy the boat ...

They are out there!

Well, I guess your question would depend on from person to person. But personally I love fishing (i bait my own hook with live bait too). and i love watching football! (goo steelers!!) So since I am a woman- you an say that yes, some woman like these things!

living in the pacific northwest has caused me to know about fishing and I learned it all at mom's guidence. I used to be quite a fisherwoman and have no problem putting live bait on a hook. A picnic lunch and a fishingpole and a blanket... yahoo.. perhaps I will get a fishing license this year and get out there somewhere.........

knight keptreal... see you are always coming to my rescue with good advice about things. I know about those pesky critters... they love to attack this city slicker. I more have problems with mosquitos and sunburn...It is like swarms of those pesky critters shadow me at every turn... In summer the risk of rattlesnakes is there. Got to watch my step... thanks

I haven't hunted in quite a while but, as I was married to a game warden, I know alot about hunting and fishing and used to do it alot. I like salt water fishing best but, camping and then going fishing in fresh water lakes is fun too. As for sports well, I was raised in a family of Professional athletes so..what do you think lol I was the only girl in my generation too so you can imagine that that was like lol I actually love baseball and coached my son in Dixie Youth for three years. If it wasn't for the parents I would have said those were the best three years of my life! lol I watch football when the Bucs play and of course the Super Bowl, no matter who's playing. With the Olympics starting tonight, Im sure I will be watching as much of that as I can too. So you see, there are women out here that like the things men like...and we're not just saying that to get in your pants lol

Well, 3 weeks ago I was salt water fishing catching Red Snapper and Grouper, last weekend I was catching bream and catfish on the river. I'm fattening up the squirrels for winter to put in the pot and love venison. I think I qualify...

I can tell you that some of us really do

I was raised in Northern BC, and was raised fishing with my grandfather and uncle. These were really great times for me, good memories and wonderful tastes and excitment as you caught either a really big salmon or had the thrill of actually playing a rainbow trout into the canoe without it spitting the hook back at you

Later on in life, I married a man who was both a hunter and a fisherman. It was amazing to watch both his skill and his deep respect for life. Those of you who have only bought their food in a store have less respect for those animals who sacrifice their life to give you life. You have little knowledge of how valuable and how dearly your life is purchased, with blood and fear, with skill and knowledge. This is life at its basic and most sincere.

I have at one point in my life both fishing and hunting licenses. It would take hours of practice before I was allowed to ever hunt. If the first bullet does not kill, you are not good enough to pull a trigger on a live animal, you should go back and practice. Those true hunters I was raised with, both respect the life of the animal and use every part of the animal they can for every and any purpose.

To say that a whole gender is devoid of these values, would choose to insulate themselves from the skill and honesty of hunting and fishing means only one thing to me - you have spent far too much time in the city. Get out and meet a different kind of people, a different kind of culture, before you put every one of us women in the same tiny basket.

^^^ you know I think the same way as you do. People who eat their hormone pumped up chicken and eggs... eat their steaks and veal chops have no idea what is behind that meat they love. Before all this processed food came along a person had to match wits with it's "meals" even if it was just vegatables.. you still had to know how to raise it before you could eat it. People who were raised hunting and fishing know the importance of a life of any kind (most).

While some people think eating meat and killing animals is wrong, it's LIFE... we were meant to eat meat! Some of the animals we kill, would gladly kill us if they needed to for food. I do not believe in ANY killing for sport, I think people who kill for the "fun" of the hunt or just to see if they can kill an animal (including humans) will some day have to face the maker and it won't be a pretty site.

Have you ever seen the movie "Last of the Mohicans".. if you have you'll see the mohicans kill a stag (buck deer) in the very beginning of the movie. You will also see them give thanks to their maker and also give homage to the stag for his galant life he has given up for THEM to survive. THAT is how we all should be, when we kill we should appreciate the animal that gave it's life so we can nurish our bodies. Even if we do not kill them and a slaughter house does it, that was still a living animal that died so we could live. And for those who think we should just eat what is in the grocery stores, you have NO IDEA. When you hunt, at least you are matching wits with your pray and not making them suffer, live horribly and then have them inhumanely killed. Also, you people have NO idea what chemical and hormones go into the meat you are eating from the store. At least when we catch a fish or kill a deer we are eating REAL meat. Plus that animal has been allowed to LIVE a free life.

HandsomStranger- I don't hunt, but I'm not anti hunting. If deer aren't hunted, they overpopulate and starve.
Several of my family members hunt and I love eating/cooking venison.
I grew up on the bay and love fishing.
I also love collage football, especially SEC football. Roll Tide! (If anyone talks about the Texas A&M game I have no comment, Lol).
I don't understand why anyone, male or female, would say they are interested in something they aren't.

I wish I could find a woman that likes to hunt. It is very hard to find a woman that I'm attracted to that will go hunting with me. I love to hunt and I do bow, black powder, rifle, shotgun and yes I would use a knife to kill a wild boar LOL. I'm semi retired and hunt about 30 to 90 days a year. Yeah I like fishing. Caught a fish with green bones once, worse than that, ate it before having to toss it..think it was tough or something. Never tried hunting but the immediate thought is it's cruel, hunting down an animal for sport when we should be more sophisticated and humane. Then again, think of the poor fishies, getting hooked in the mouth then dying a slow probably painful death?.. oh my god..I don't think I'll fish again yet I still have to eat fish, being healthy as it is for you..and the fish will still suffer at the hands of others..it's a hard one.

I met one true fishergal. In my second online message to her, I asked what species of fish she pursued. Her answer was perfect: she said she'll fish for anything that will take a hook, and one of the favorite species she mentioned was a species only fishermen and icthyologists know, a "poor man's" species shunned by the snobs who fish for walleye and trout. She kept fishing gear in her vehicle. She and I fished a bunch of times. She baited her own hooks, took fish off the hook, tied her own knots.

The other two times someone from online fished with me, they weren't fanatical about it. One had gear in her basement and brought it for the date, but she bought a daily license, meaning she hadn't fished that year and didn't plan to again. Her profile had a short paragraph about fishing. Apparently she didn't like me or she got a better offer. The other girl didn't get a license, didn't have her own equipment (borrowed mine), and sent negative messages the night before indicating she didn't want to go. Her profile had fishing as an interest. As bait to dangle in front of me, she said we could go to a private lake where her brother was a staffer. The day we could have gone to this alleged lake, she went shopping with her sister in law instead.

It's not unusual to see fishing as an interest in a woman's profile, or her about me includes fishing in a list of "I like to...". Rarely any evidence. If I message her, I don't mention fishing or other things a lot of guys might say in their messages to her.

Hunting is a lot rarer in women's profiles, at least the ones I view.

In real life it's not unusual for girls to suggest fishing sometime. Almost never actually happens, but I rarely end up fishing with the zillions of guys who say "let's go fishing sometime" either.

A young girl at work said to me "Take me fishing!" and said she had her own pole. I jokingly asked if she had a pink Barbie rod. She said actually a pink Disney Little Mermaid rod.

Handsome stranger- I love to fish, but I don't hunt, hours out in the woods/the cold, no thanks.
Football, the pro's, only a little, when it gets close to time for the super bowl.
College ball, heck yes, especially SEC games, I'm a HUGE Alabama fan,
I also love boating, tubing down the river, four wheeling, I have played paint ball twice and loved it,
