I've always wanted to learn the jew's harp and saw
I see live bluegrass and watch them in awe
and if I learned them I could preserve history
soon the source of those sounds will be a mystery

I see that changing now as the baby boomers age
very soon depends will be the rage
our generation is always courted by Madison Avenue
because our demographic buying power's matched by few

I've hardly been to concerts
though I'm an audiophile
had to put my efforts
into my family for awhile
I didn't bare my titties
though I know those who did
they were kind of itty bitties
and, I would have demanded quid ( quo, as in if I show mine you would have to show yours)

Om, my friend, I bid you goodnight
too long have I forced you to keep on your light
the last guest to leave, I know I'm a pest
I'm going to take off and we'll both get some rest

goodnight my merry gentlemen
let nothing you dismay
I hope you dream of nubile breasts
into your hands they sway
incite your lust so you don't rust
and inkpens on a tray
oh tidings of comfort and joy, comfort and joy
oh tidings of comfort and joy

Ohhh you're all having so much fun
hate to put a damper on this run
but the sign says anything goes
it's my daughters birthday
wish I could count her toes...... again

I'm speaking to you
yes you, my words
not getting through
where is my baby
you are saying nothing
why don't you speak
you are frightened maybe
a simple question
I am not meek
someone spoke
behind me
but I did not hear
as if fluid pooling
in my ear
a needle in my arm
so I don't feel your words
wounding words
words that will harm
not bitter or thoughtless
but you know
as a blade is sharp
cutting slowly
through my heart
I see in your eyes
to speak
you are terrified

What? I am tied down
the man behind me
the one with a frown
holding me too tight
I'm not gonna fight!
I asked you a question!!!
****! What's the matter,
Oh.... you are speaking....
You're so sorry?
There was nothing
you could do.................

the man behind me
the Dr. he's nodding yes

Ahh he nodded yes
to shoot me up
my arm is warm
you thought
I might explode...
Those words were powerfull
like a flood
they are collecting
in my blood
no mere fluid
in my vain
will take them away
those which will cause
a lifetime of pain.

[B][I]Did you answer me?
Where is my baby girl
it's her birthday.......

I'm turning on the Cd player......

Make a wish

swoosh...swish throw a penny....
make a wish..just one of many...
that'll do it! Down the well
where fickle fate would seem to dwell
I fear to wake the sleeping fortunes
to carefully wish - old adage of caution

your noble spirit
shines like the sun
beautiful one
creativity generates
to workman's hands
mind into matter
actions speak
sometimes in their lack
mellow chatter
the love you seek
your desolation

because you give love, you will draw love.........hoping it comes soon for you......

Om, I feel your pain.....I just posted this one recently in Daily Poet and my own thread.....

corporate greed

When cities look for revenue
they tax on everything you do
and then they send their bored police
for silly little fines to fleece
so now I have to file my dogs
into county liscence logs
and sweep my eyes with vigilance
to spy cops in their diligence
to fill their quota with my fines
for drifting over painted lines
Where does this extra money go?
that is what I'd like to know
while dodging potholes as I drive
and a three day limit on their lives
for dogs and cats that they impound
with stake and chain when found
when asked for help they call your plates
before responding, that really grates......

(Irving Layton)

At this hour
the figs
look like the tight green testicles
of a youth

Next month
they'll hang loose and furrowed
like an old man's

well, Om, now you've gone and reminded me of one of my favorite poems...........

e.e. cummings - the boys i mean are not refined

the boys i mean are not refined
they go with girls who buck and bite
they do not give a f*u*c*k for luck
they hump them thirteen times a night

one hangs a hat upon her t*i*t
one carves a cross on her behind
they do not give a s*h*i*t for wit
the boys i mean are not refined

they come with girls who bite and buck
who cannot read and cannot write
who laugh like they would fall apart
and masturbate with dynamite

the boys i mean are not refined
they cannot chat of that and this
they do not give a fart for art
they kill like you would take a piss

they speak whatever's on their mind
they do whatever's in their pants
the boys i mean are not refined
they shake the mountains when they dance

err....not all of us, Jer.....great parody, though......

I like the way that you used me
without delicacy or apology
or hesitance
in the way of men to women
time out of mind
and I responded
in the way of women to men
from the beginning
roman soldier
and greek slave
or viking
and captive
what mattered
was our
in the here
and now

she lost a child.
a love story, paused.
time, the healer,
memory, the keeper,
Love never ends

For your kind words I thank you om, for when you wrote I wanted to "go home".
I asked you for a suggestion
to hesitate you did not
You gave me a direction,
and for that I think you're hot.

Believe this to be true
I am not like you

You who are not like me
will never know
the horror I saw
the terror I don't show
the emotions that are raw

You who are not like me
can not even imagine
will not ever believe
that what I see
that which I feel
what I know
Is so very, very real

You who are not like me
tell me I am wrong
that my brain is fried
that I do not belong
tho' it was you who lied

so my anger is justified
for what I'm going through
though you try and hide
this time Is because of you

You who are not like me
will never understand
for you are blind you see
to the pain that tortures
and controls me
like you did
taking me to places
I never wanted to be

You who are not like me
have closed your mind
will never believe
how you were unkind
that you did not care
of the cruel abuse
you said was not there.

The slow murdering of my soul
that happened every day
I looked but could not know
what might be you would not say

You who are not like me
who say I am at fault
can not possibly see
the constant assault
the gentle madness
the loneliness of being me.

You fear what you don't know.
You hide from what you don't like.
You lie about what you don't want to show.
You stab my heart as with a spike

I who am not like you
could never keep
the way that you do
a mother from her child
the one she has left
while all along you smiled
leaving her bereft.

You who are not like me
you will not know
the true meaning of
penny less
and forgiveness

unless you too lose a child
maybe your only son
are relentlessly defiled
then you will become
more like me
and then some.

(I know, it's too long.)

Hiya OM, MO, & Curly,

Countless hours
Banging keys
And all the sensations
The writing frees
Healing and venting
Humor and tears
Emotions and sympathy
Blissful and tears
Sharing each piece
With all of our friends
Something we love
That never ends……

Afraid of his music and awed by his girth
the fans of John Popper have proof of his worth
the man can play some awesome blues
and now he's lighter in his shoes
since he's beat his drug addiction
and late night fast food prediliction
so now he's standing leaner
with a system that's cleaner
and playing the blues even meaner

Om, you 've certainly had an interesting life! I loved that movie "Almost Famous", have you seen it?

song trigger

color me blue
music came on
and reminded me
of someone
I once knew
who went back to
his woman who
was no good
but memory is true
and brings me thoughts
to view
I never loved him
but I can never hear
that song
without remembering
when it was new

Om, glad you reposted that, like many others, I really love this poem.....I like the first untitled one about the tiny stubborn whore also........

I get
a running start
my legs pumping
and leaning
my hair scuffed
by the wind
I am an angel
I am a bird
I grin at you
the balance of
a moment's hangtime
before the painful
of my sole
