Personally I cannot imagine kissing someone with missing or black teeth...ugh. Guess I am shallow. The thought of that person putting their tongue in my mouth is revolting to me.

Really bad teeth are a definite turn-off. I don't want to kiss a person like that.
And if I don't want to kiss you.....I don't want to go out.

tell me girls is it shallow to not date someone because they have bad teeth?

Teeth can be fixed, it's only a matter of $.
What really bothers me is poor grammar and punctuation.

Girl, my ex's friend has the worst breath on the planet, the only time his breath didn't smell like death was when he drank Gin. He had the gaul to come onto girls that were more then half his age too. EWWWWWWWWW!!!

Sorry, but if a man's breath smells like something died in his mouth, hell no I won't date him. Yuck!!!

hell yeah it's shallow!!!! my teeth are far from perfect but they're mine, what's left of them anyway...lol. nah, all kidding aside, i still have my teeth, not in the perfect condition but with the high costs of health care and dental care unless a man or woman has an excellent insurance company with the best dental plan then no one's teeth are going to be all that perfect. as long as he has teeth of his own (sorry, no dentures they tend to slip out of place) then he's still date-able as long as i am to him. it's called part of acceptance...it's not the teeth that makes the person, it's what's inside that counts.

i'd much rather date someone with bad teeth than no teeth at all and yes i've actually met some men who were missing the majority of teeth in their mouth. not sure why they let that happen to them unless they are deathly afraid of dentists or cannot afford it. not everyone has a dental plan and even if you do, many cosmetic procedures are not covered and even with something like a root canal, you send up owing some money. dentists are extremely expensive!!

Well I think I'm a great person.I've never had the chance and I never will have nice teeth.I could get dentures but women find them just as repulsive. Its not about hygiene its about money.I'm a good person and if you can look past my teeth I am 1 sexy man.Actually I've never had much a problem getting women just not the right 1.

a little bad, like slightly crooked, a little yellow, a little chip, not a prob...anything more than that, I am not into it...the way I see it, most men are pretty picky about the women they want to date, why shouldn't I? I have very nice teeth, braces as a child, go to the dentist (just got a new cap on one tooth) so why would I be attracted to someone who was not on the same level

OP, I don't think it's shallow at all. I won't date a man that has bad teeth because having a nice set of white teeth is part of a person's overall health. If he doesn't care enough about himself to take care of his teeth then I doubt he'll care enough about taking care of anything else in his life including his weight, his blood pressure, or his skin. Usually people with bad teeth also have a problem with halitosis. ugh.

I take excellent care of my teeth, floss daily and see the dentist every three months for a cleaning. I do that for me and I wouldn't expect anything less from my mate.

I really don't know why, but my eye goes directly to a date's teeth!!!

Are they a deal breaker for me? I really think that they are!! Sorry to say but teeth are a must! they don't have to be perfect, but badly broken, black foaming gums etc. are a sign of bad hygiene. What else on their body do they not look after?
I don't mind if you take your choppers and put them in a bucket at night (after sexy time of course) but they are one of my 'must have' list.
The list.......
1. Must have teeth (don't have to be perfect, just have to be present)
2 .Must have a job (I understand the economy is not good but I work full time +OT, support my self and daughter. How are we going to go out and enjoy days out, dinners etc. ? Am I paying for everything? NOT!!
3. Must have a vehicle (not going to be a taxi for any Man, if you can't drive due to medical reasons, or DUI, it might be ok. I spend enough time driving my kid around.

Bad teeth are not always obvious these days. My teeth are natural, slightly yellowed, no cavities or fillings, a little crooked at the bottom. But there are people that have mouths full of fillings from all the cavities and teeth so white, they are notebook paper blue. No, they are not clean teeth, but veneers covering a disaster. I guess visually that is more appealing than someone with brown teeth. But you are getting the same thing either way. I prefer naturally clean teeth.

God I sure hope not because it's kind of a sticking point for me. If his teeth are a little crooked and I liked the guy okay I can deal. But of you got someone who looks like a bomb went off in his mouth or hasn't picked up a tooth brush or gone to see the dentist in a very long time the I'm out the door!

Listen, I used to have really crooked teeth myself and have gone thru TOURTURE to get them straight so why would it be bad of me to want someone with a smile that won't make me cringe!

missing is not the same as black.

what if he was a veteran and lost them in combat or was in a car accident or a crazy ex smacked him with a pot.

not everyone can afford implants or caps you know.

I notice teeth right away.
If they are fake and he had to take them out at night that is ok with is me.
they dont have to be perfect, but a mans smile must look appealing to me or I wont want to kiss him.
if they are brown that usually is a sign of prior or present drug use.
if this shallow so be it. everyone has preferences.
I care more about teeth than height.

No, it's not shallow. I can't kiss a guy w/bad teeth. It's usually asssociated w/bad breath, too. Years ago I worked w/ a nice guy who wanted to date me, he had a lot of good qualities, but, he had terribly crooked gray & yellow teeeth, looked like they were rotting, & terrible breath all the time. He made good money, so I never understood why it wasn't important to him to get them fixed. Bad teeth are extremely unattractive, a sign of bad hygeine, & it means a person doesn't care about their appearance. I know dental work can be extrememly expensive, but it's important to me to have nice teeth. When I lacked insurance I found a low cost dental clinic.

So I am having this issue right now. I had a first date with a guy I really like - so much in common, great conversation, smart, cute, attractive to me in every other way BUT it would appear that he has really bad dental hygiene - very yellow teeth and a lot of plaque. It is puzzling because he seemed to care for his appearance in every other way.

I am having a 2nd date with him because as I said I really like him otherwise. If I decide that I still like him very much after the 2nd date, I will need to say something. It's either that or never see him again and leave him to wonder why - or potentially there could be a cause that I need to be aware of, like medicine that causes this.

Do you agree? Would you rather be told or not (like say you had B.O. or something) and if you were to tell someone something like this, how would you do it?

Bad teeth are a turnoff to me. I can't bring myself to kiss a guy who has bad teeth, IMO it equals bad hygeine. Teeth are very important & should be made a priority to fix if there is a problem with them.

Twelve years ago I had a boyfriend with four missing teeth at the top and those included his front teeth. They were knocked out from a fight and from a beam at work. I think he was too cheap to get dental work done. During kissing I would sometimes play around with his gaps. lol
