Marriage … Second time around ….Page 2 of 2    (1, 2)
I am one of the growing number of men who have been divorced and wondering what our new relationships goals should be.

The fist time around, I knew what I wanted … family, procreation and life long partnership. Obviously that didn’t work out too well .. but now, in my 40s .. after 7 years of being single, I am done with procreation, have an excellent lifestyle, I can afford to travel and entertain and there seems to be no shortage of women to date.

I am trying to evaluate my new relationship goals and can’t see any benefit to marriage, outside of coming home to a smiling face ... and men know how rare that is

@ bugsy

That was profound.

Since you are in your 40s .. what are your relationship goals? Why would you marry again?

Getting married again is no guarantee that she would stick around if you get sick.

Hell .. there is no guarantee she would be around ... next week

ya know, pro-creation isn't my only goal or the only goal for my age group.

actually since i saw this show on PBS about global warming, i'm nost sure if i even want kids anymore. i'd rather adopt

i think my goals would be to both give and receive happiness, comfort, support and jokes

I didn't want to do a survey on who would or wouldn't marry again.

I wanted to discuss the relationship goals and the benefits of marriage .. second time around

I never looked at a relationship in terms of milk or cow.

Companionship ... yes. Detached sex ... no.

So, you're just here to brag, and troll for FWB's. Why hasn't this post been deleted?

Agree there is no reason to marry after having a family, for exactly what purspose. There just is no reason for marrage at this stage of life. I cant see one reason maybe others will give tangable reasons.
