I have met lots of wonderful people on PoF. Can you meet the right person? Well who knows - but I think it might just be possible ;)

YES, I have two of my female friends that have found someone from this site.. one for 6 months now and the other for 4...
Both of them are very happy with where their relationships are and where they seem to be going..

They are both too busy with their relationships.. to be on the forums! LOL
But I'll tell them to check out this thread..

I got caught by a BIG fishie (6'6" lol) last Spring, but I threw him back in - I think its time I checked my line again, I'm thinking my lure got lost somewhere....have had a nibble or two but no bites since :( oh well, attending the parties are fun and I've been blessed with some pretty terrific friends as a result.
Bottom line is, if its meant to be it will be, you can't force anything.

Nothing in the net here....
Hell, I don't even get to date....well, maybe 1-2 x a year

I think I need to attend more mainland events...might be some hope for me there.

I have a whole bunch of new friends, thats all I wanted too
Anyone missing a pair of black lace french cut panties here?

I have met tons of friends online (Although I'm a web developer so probably spend more time than most online) and I am not talking chat buddies ;)
It all depends on what you are looking for, but I can say over the years there have been plenty of girls I have dated at least once (discussion of some of those dates probably not appropriate for this forum) and I have known many people who still maintain long term successful romantic relationships with individuals they have met online. Does this work? Absolutely! Just remember, your first impression is picture and text based, so make it a good one. Be honest, yet appealing. Confident yet not concieted and you will get contacts.
Good luck all

2 of the women I work with met their partners here
one woman is ultra conservative and met a fellow that rocks her very conservative world
the other woman is young and relatively wild - and she met a guy that rocks her new age/goth world
that's how I ended up here - they kept talking about this POF stuff I thought I'd just come see what wuz up

Welcome back whodeletedme
Been there too....took me only 2 days here to get banned to pergatory for a week

Yes!! My best friend met a guy on here two years ago and on May 8th they will be tying the knot!!! Yes she met a ton of duds but finally met Mr. Right. They were made for each other and had it not have been for POF they never would have met! He had just moved to BC from Indiana and she was a hometown Abby girl. He lived in Chilliwack came on here saying he was looking for friends and boom! They met, hit it off, became the best of friends, started dating and now they're getting married!! So yes POF does work for some people!!

I know of one couple that lives where I live that have a LTR and I saw a couple on BCTV from the Cariboo somewhere, that had met on POF and were entering BCTV's Dream Wedding Contest.

one of my good friends met his girl on POF and today its almost been 3 years.
So yeah online dating works, why not? Sometimes you aren't able to meet women in your local bar or clubs, but online you have access to women 24/7 OH YEAH!
Got to love the digital age.

Seems that it is more like playing the slots and just maybe you'll hit the jackpot! Rare but maybe it happens once in a blue moon! When is the next Blue Moon?
Posted: 2/1/2010 10:29:43 AM
^^^^^^^^^^^^^dunno about a blue one...but it sure was full last night...
(stepped outside to listen for the wolves howling)
I know two couples that are married and have blended families,
one couple has a 'new addition'
and they are POF love stories!
and I met another couple at our Saturday dance that rekindled a
'long ago knew one another' acquaintance and are together...
"surround yourself with love, it'll find you"
is my motto!

"IT" is that yummy feeling that you feel inside when being surrounded by what you LOVE brings you back a heart FULL of Joy...
kinda like the leaned sideways against a POF friend/one armed hug I've witnessed you enjoy, when your Mosquito Creek venue has a 'squish space only' capacity looking back at you! Lotsa smiling going on there, my friend!
(picture's worth a thousand words...see forums/events/pictures)

I sent my success story over a year and it was never put up. Make me consider that those stories are fakes.
Posted: 2/7/2010 10:30:51 AM
I've never had a success story from here...or any online thing
I like hearing about them though, makes me happy, hopeful...if not a smidgen jealous.
Posted: 2/7/2010 10:32:53 AM
Yuppers this site does have success stories, I know 3 couples very well, who have met on here, and all currently living together, and one couple soon to be married!
And have met other pof couples at pof events, I've attended!
IMHO, if you really want to meet someone, you have to get out there and test the pond!

I wanna hear the definition of success before I hear all about the stories.

I wanna hear the definition of success before I hear all about the stories.
Since I am one of them even though Markus won't put my story up I will tell you how I defined my success. I started talking to a man on here in July or August of 2006. We met in November 2006, engaged March 2009, married December 2009

^^^^^^ Cool,,,msg 79 and 80 gives us some definitions of what success is here and not a word about love or a whole lot of other emotions. It's a bonus we can keep the feelings outta the whole equation. Keeps it a little simplier.

Hmmm...Lets see I stayed with him for 2.5 years before he proposed. Gee, I'm pretty sure I loved him. I was simply saying that I was successful since I found my husband here. I do have my complete success story on another forum though
