Men with mustaches and/or beards, Why and what??Page 3 of 7    (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7)
Op

Let the guys do what they want to do with their appearance, and you just try to be a good behaved, respectful ladie ok

Also, I have a question for you, why don't you grow your hair longer and maybe dye your hair black or dark brown, just like I like it. That way you will look better and maybe be more secure about yourself lol

Men with mustaches and/or beards, Why and what??

"Few men can pull off facial hair."

With all due respect femalegirlywoman unless they're incredibly malnourished any real man can pull off facial hair. You just have to understand pretty much every one of us expects you to do it for yourself.

I have had my mustache since I took a year and half off from college 25 years ago. As much as many women come [keep it in context folks] to love it understand many women dismiss me as a result of it.

That's fine, we all have our preferences. For instance I'm really not a fan of floppy labias.

I can tell you exactly why men have facial hair. It's because of all the things that set men and women apart, it's one of the very few things that we can point out they doesn't insult women in some way.

I mean, if we were to point out that we are better drivers, or stronger, or smarter, or any of the other things that separate men from women, then we would just have to hear the women bytch* about it for half an hour (another thing that sets us apart). But I have never heard a woman complain that they can't grow a beard (about the only thing they don't complain about). So by us growing one, we realize that it is something that we can do that will not make women feel inferior. Unless the woman is bull-dike, then she may be very envious. This is exactly why, as much as men would like to hang out in lesbian bars and observe their lesbian mating rituals, we don't. Our facial hair is bound to cause a bit of hate and discontent.

I hope this explains why men like facial hair, in simplistic enough English that you women will be able to comprehend.

Only new threads are up for a vote or moderator's rules judgement...once a thread makes it thru, its ok.

So when someone goes and retrieves an old thread...there is no more voting or interferance from moderator unless the thread becomes confrontational and everyone goes off topic to the thread.

So, when I made my comment, there were 3 old threads running(that POFers brought back) at the same time about beards...My simple question is did the forum need three threads about beards.

I dont have a problem about bringing back old threads, I do it myself.

I grew my beard when I was 19 because I finally got tired of cutting myself while shaving. My facial hair grows fast,5 0'clock shadow by 2 o'clock. The beard also hides my baby face and second chin very nicely. I've been lucky enough to be with women who like beards. My girlfriend went out to BC a couple years ago to visit me when I was working on the pipelines. I'd had to shave off the beard as a condition of working there. One look and she told me I'd better grow it back before coming home.

A softer beard will result if it's washed with shampoo instead of soap, and conditioner doesn't hurt either. My girl loves to rub her face on my beard during sex.

I like (and maybe even prefer) a man with facial hair, if it is kept neat and clean.

There was a chap at work who had a horrid growth under his nose... it was thick and trained to curled up at each end of his mouth. He smoked like a trooper and if he leaned too close the smell of cigarettes was horrendous from this growth and it was disgustingly discoloured.

Beards just conjur up thoughts of rotting food that has got dropped in it!

Yuk! No No No they definately don't do it for me.

My last LT bf had a moustache when we met which he had had for as long as he could remember and I always hated it but never said so then one day out of the blue he shaved it off ..... well it took flippin years off him and he looked so much better. He loved the clean shaven look and said he should have done it years back it was just about plucking up the courage for change.

Thought I'd ressurect this. I have been letting my beard grow for the last 2 months. Have always has a moustache but not a full beard since 1983.Still the same as '83 but now it's grey. Was curious to see what would sprout on my face after 30 yrs. of shaving .... And, wanted to answer a few of the OP's questions.

Yes OP, sometimes it is cool having a face like a grizzly. It's sometimes fun walking down the street, growling and scaring people. Plus, it helps keep the wind off my face in winter.

OP. you're a woman... How do you feel about beards? I get the feeling you don't care for them. But, to each his, or her own.

As for me... Well, once I head back to work I'll probably have to shave. It is kind of fun sporting a beard though.

My mother, sisters and aunts used to tell me that women NEVER went for guys with facial hair of any kind, and that I would NEVER get a girlfriend if I grew any. I was young and stupid enough to believe them, but grew my beard out just to spite them.

Turns out, they were WRONG! So Ha Ha Ha. You women who don't like whiskers can just kiss any unhairy portion of my anatomy.

If you ever get the urge to " Talk like a Pirate" I've noticed it's a lot more fun with a beard.....

At times ,I'll even wear an eyepatch to get the full Pirate experience. Sometimes the best entertainment value is your own imagination.... AAArgh

Generally the most I'll have is a goatee. If I do grow out a beard it's just because I forget to shave having no one to impress. Eventually I do shave it down to a goatee or all gone though. If I was trying to impress, I'd likely keep just a goatee, trimmed. Why? I don't know. I've tried the clean shaven look and it doesn't really feel right to me and a full beard gets itchy.

I love mustaches!! I love the way they look, especially the thick ones, and the way they feel, they feel soft. On the other hand, I don't like beards. I don't like the way they look or the way they feel.

Very rarely, one male, in a sea of millions, is gifted with the greatest of genetic perfections... great facial hair. I feel, when we are blessed with such divine genes, it is our duty... nay, our responsibility, to allow those genes to flourish and enrich the world with their heavenly handsomeness!

...that and I look like a kid without one.

There's a place for everything... and beards and mustaches don't mix well with my sensitive skin ... unfortunately I just break out with a red rash if a man gets too close with a beard or stubble.

That said, there are men who are just adorable with their mustaches / beards. My patient has a mustache and he's darling ... it gives him snaz.

I was driving to go pick up my grandson the other day and passed a dark red SUV driven by a man with a white beard and a sweet looking older woman in the passenger seat.

On the back of it ... written across the bumper in script ... "Santa Claus & Christmas Carol". Now that was really cute!!!

OP ... I prefer clean-shaven men ... mostly because of my own allergic reactions, but I love to look at attractive men.

this is a question I've never given much thought to ... but ... upon reflection,
since leaving high school, I can't think of any men I've even been minorly
attracted to who didn't have some sort of facial hair ...

I think I equate facial hair on men with being "grown up" ... I'm particularly
attracted to mustaches ... goatees are great ... well trimmed beards of most
kinds are interesting ... I'm not attracted to the "just climbed down off the
mountain" type of scraggily beard tho ...

All this talk about moustaches, beards and porn films.

Now it seems to me that folk are wasting there time on here
if they just want a quick jump.

Pizza delivery is where its at. The lassie never seems to have any money
to pay the gadgie so its beards and moustache country after that.

Now admittedly the geezer must get no wages at the end of the week as the
as the lassies have nae dough (chortle) but he gets a pizza the action so he must
not kneed the dough (oh my giddy aunt)

So ive been told by some uk friends of mine because the big lillian gish says we are
all pervs apparently (oh how i laughed when the forums version of smithers ran to
the bosses aid only to be shot down like a stuka over london)

Anyway only shave if you are going somewhere special like the football

I grew my moustache 29 years ago. I'm sure I've missed out on many women as a result. Nonetheless those that have gone for a ride pretty much all seem to enjoy it with often times deafening alacrity.

I don't know if you meant the pouty little weasel who is aka "24/7," but thinking how much like Smithers he seems made me laugh so hard I almost spat out my coffee. As for facial hair, baseball players have some of the most God-awful displays of it I see these days. How anyone could think sporting a thatch of billy-goat chinwhiskers looked anything but ridiculous, I do not know.

I grew my moustache 29 years ago.
Just about then was when my patient grew his. We had to shave it off today ... he told me how odd it feels since he's basically had it since he was a teenager.

He was having some "skin problems" under the mustache so elected to shave it off today to see if we could correct the problem easier without the mustache.

My patient is bed-ridden and from what he tells me, he has the mustache because his mother thought he looked like a famous movie star with it. He doesn't ... but his mother is deceased and we don't talk about it.

There are some who look great with facial hair of any kind and those who don't. If it doesn't look right on them, then they should let it go.

I prefer men without any kind of facial hair only because I've discovered I get a rash when a man has a stubble or beard. Don't know how a mustache would affect my skin.

I'm pretty much in the same boat...I go in between bearded and unbearded. Sometimes I have a suave goatee. The point where I actually decide to shave it off is when it starts to look a little scruffy. For the most part I enjoy having a well kept trimmed beard.

I think a great mane on a man adds character, those that say bad things like they look homeless or whatever clearly aren't taking care of there beards :{D}. I don't tend to have full beards because they make me look like an Imam (Muslim Priest) haha. I usually go for the Chin Strap, The Ducktail or The Van Dyke and yes these are all beard types :D. I love my handlebar moustache I go out my way to twirl it, brushing my beard is sssooooooooooooo therapeutic it tends to calm me down when spouts of anger arises :P. I can't remember who said it but it goes 'There are two kinds of people without beards. Boys and Women. I am neither.'. Peace.
