When I'm watching tv and my Diet Coke gets low, I'll wait until I have to go to the bathroom before I top it up ~ why make two trips when one will do?

The irony in that is - how much energy did it take to go out and by the hose??

If I'm doing an outrageously long run (like more than 4 miles; 6 miles), I'll get lazy the rest of the day. But it depends...

I live with 4 other adults & only have 1 chore.. Wash the laundry.. Its a never ending battle, with 5 adults, 1 child & 1 teen in the house. But inbetween loads, I relax & do little.. except for weekends, I'm out & about, & don't care about the laundry.

do you count procrastinating as being lazy because I do that way to much, I have to clean alot of stuff, do alot of assingments, and pay my bills; but I wait till I can't put it off or till someone or somethings is forcing me to do it.

Ok, so this post was made in 2006, it's the topic line that caught my attention. Lazy is a subjective word. Its whether someone is suffering from chronic or situational depression that is the concern when someone cannot do much of anything. I am not lazy, but I am also not a Martha Stewart type who like my Mom (who was a good person) was/is a clean freak.

I like the bathroom, kitchen and my body (laughing) clean enough so neither I or others get sick. Oh and I like clean sheets on the bed weekly. Something about sun dried sheets. And I like glass glasses that sparkle in the sun.

When I have been sick (which is rare), I remind myself that within weeks I will get back to semi normal. I say this as a woman who likes cleaning some or at least getting organized. After all when there are no more panties in the drawer its time to do some laundry. Unless its nice weather and all I wear is a dress.

Auntie Mame always said 'Life's a banquet and most of you SOB's are starving to death'.

Wow, the responses here make me feel A~O.K.
As a single mom, working fulltime hours plus for last few years, my place gets overrun with piles of laundry only needing to be put away, stuff like school projects, flyers, papers of all sorts piled up on table... toys are the biggest mess in my house.
My bathroom is always (sanitary) clean.. but sometimes towels, hair products, etc... cover up the countertop.
The floors are clean by way of vacuuming... my biggest fault is I let dishes pile up, bad too... I'll rinse them fill with soap and hot water to soak but getting to the actual task of scrubbing and rinsing them clean clean... I loathe washing dishes...no I don't have a dishwasher
I never was this lazy til a few years ago.. actually it's since I've been living alone with my child. When I was married I had an abundance of energy?? Actually my ex mother in law told someone I kept the house SO clean, almost to a fault?? Lol!!

As alot of posters said, when you're weak from being sick... let the cleanin wait. Thoses moments of energy to clean/tidy up will come?? I'm hoping so, in the meantime I'm hanging out keeping the seat of my chair warm....

Doesn't everyone?

You wanna talk lazy - I used to do housecleaning and one of the families I worked for, the wife retired before 50 and had me coming in twice a week. I started changing the litter box too because they were letting it go. Pew. Poor kitty.

I'm so lazy that if my friend is in the other room, I'll call her on the cell instead of getting up and asking her the question.

I get lazy like this once in a while.... although I'm seeing a pattern (at least with myself) that when I have a lot on my mind or am a little down about stuff or depressed, that's when i get lazy. Lack of motivation or sense of urgency is usually a sign of depression. Do some soul searching and see if there is something bothering you. Maybe once you find out what it is and can address it you'll get your motivation back.
