i haven't yet, but i'm not against it. a lazy eye would not be a problem - if the rest of him was lazy, then we'd have an issue to deal with...

Yes, I would. If he were the man of my dreams, he could look like a Siamese cat at a needle threadin' contest for all I care.

It could be a major lazy eye or a slight one. You know one eye tends to shift off to the side(outward). So would you? If you have before, what was it like and would you do it again? Or can you only date people who's eyes are completly straight?? Be honest people.

So do you have one? I always kind of wonder when someone starts a thread like this, whether they're just trying to put their mind at ease over it. I saw one a few weeks ago where someone was asking if anyone would date someone with a big hairy mole that was located right between their eyes. He was so specific on the size, location and coarseness of the hair you knew he had one.

To answer your question I guess it would depend on how lazy it was. If it's to the point that I'm not attracted to them because of it, then I wouldn't date them. It's just like any physical thing someone may have. If it turns you off, then naturally you're not going to date them.
Now if Jessica Simpson had a major lazy eye I could definitely over look it with her body.

I just shake my head at the shallowness of a lot of the people on this site...

I have a major eye disease that I was born with. It is a nerulogic disease that affected the nerves in my eyes. Due to this when I am under stress, or tierd, or nervous my eyes move back and forth. I cant tell they are doing it. I am told that when people get to know me it does not happen as much or maybe it's not as noticable.

I look people in the face regardless! I am told I have very beautiful eyes! I am no less sexy, smart, whitty, or strong because of it!

It can't be fixed. I can't change it.

I have been given so much more than perfect vision and I thank my creator every day that I am who I am!

so judge me as you will...it tells a lot about YOU!

That kind of personal confidence is an attractive trait!

On topic: I find it rather shallow/superficial/chickenshitty that
people would be judged negatively, soley based on things
they cannot change.

I'm not a shallow person....but I have issues when it comes to eyes. You might even call it a phobia of some kind...It would really have to depend on the person. If I had a strong connection with them, if I knew them before-hand, something like that...the situation might be different. But because of my eye-issues, I'm not sure that I could date someone with a lazy eye. It's awful I Know.

I can't say dating someone with a lazy eye would be high on my priority list, no. But if she was perfect in every other way, I don't think it would stop me from dating her again.

theres nothing like high expecations here! wow!

I have this condition; its called Amblyopia. I was treated at a young age with vision therapy. It only returns briefly, and rarely, when I am very tired.

http://www.lazyeye.org/#causes

Treatment of Amblyopia (Lazy Eye)
Treatment involves glasses, drops, vision therapy and/or patching. Recent medical research has proven that amblyopia is successfully treated up to the age of 17. See National Institutes of Health -- National Eye Institute; Older Children Can Benefit From Treatment; Lazy Eye.

Treatment of amblyopia after the age of 17 is not dependent upon age but requires more effort including vision therapy. Although improvements are possible at any age with proper treatment, early detection and treatment still offer the best outcome.

To quote Dr. Leonard J. Press, FAAO, FCOVD: "It's been proven that a motivated adult with strabismus and/or amblyopia who works diligently at vision therapy can obtain meaningful improvement in visual function. As my patients are fond of saying: "I'm not looking for perfection; I'm looking for you to help me make it better". It's important that eye doctors don't make sweeping value judgments for patients. Rather than saying "nothing can be done", the proper advice would be: "You won't have as much improvement as you would have had at a younger age; but I'll refer you to a vision specialist who can help you if you're motivated."

In other words, there is no valid reason why it can't be successfully treated.

I think it depends on the severity of the eye... and of course their personality. For instance, I've met someone who had a slight lazy eye, and a great sense of humor, so it was really easy to get past it.

At the same time, I've met someone who was nasty to people, had a chip on her shoulder, and her lazy eye was one of those that would just kinda roll around in her head. So sometimes it would look at you, and other times, not. Kinda hard to get past that kind of thing.

Juust think, maybe she knew that lots of people felt just the way you did about it & that's whhy she had a chip on her shoulder.

I would date a one armed, deaf, mute, blind, midget with a peg leg and an eye patch if I liked her. Everyone has something great or a whole list of great somethings an usually once you like them, it's easy to see those things if yer not too busy comparing the person to a fashion magazine fulla digitally enhanced mythical imagery.

Looks are easy to adjust to and become fond of. It mean spirited, obnoxious, self centered behavior that is just plain intolerable.

I have a lazy eye, and wear corrective lenses because of it. It has never, to my knowledge at least, been a problem with men I've known. It did cause me problems in school though, as teachers often thought I wasn't paying attention when I actually was.

If I met a man who had a lazy eye, that would not be a problem for me.

A lazy eye is the least of my worries when I am choosing someone to date. I am 50 and hopefully in the next five to ten years I will meet someone who will be my live-out love of the rest of my life.

Being raised by my great-grandparents and grandparents, and having worked at a couple of positions where I dealt with the elderly, I know the latter years can be Heaven or they can be Hell when it comes to physical problems.

It's the emotional content of a man's heart I'm concerned about and that it's mutually felt.

I was born with a "lazy eye," it runs in the family. I had it surgically corrected when I was just a babe, but it eventually came back. I had the surgery again about 8 years ago, that was not fun. The lazy eye pretty much does quit working, so getting used to both eyes working together again was a trip. I can say it was pretty difficult to make eye contact with someone who didn't know which eye I was actually using.
