While she was ringing up my purchase of groceries I leaned towards her a bit and said to the cashier "In case someone hasn't yet told you today, you are very beautiful."

I don't like to talk about my good deeds at length. I do not do kind things to tell everyone about but because they matter. However, to be honest, I have been slipping and I have missed some opportunities.

BTW - if you are motivated by others praise for good deeds, keep doing them. It is the act that matters not the motivation.

However, when it comes to good deeds, I keep quiet --- personal preference.

This is a funny good deed, actually obligation. There is a steep hill that goes down Alma Street from 16th Avenue to 4th Avenue. It is wicked, narrow and winding. There are also two lanes of traffic. This cyclist goes down the hill, wearing no helmet and using no hands. I drove past him and we met up again when we both had to stop at a light on 10th avenue.

My power window went down and I was ready to say that I was ready to call 9-1-1 for you. Phoning 9-1-1 would be the good deed, actually obligation. I stopped myself from saying this because I was afraid he would become defensive and we would argue.

He shot through the light and started riding down the middle of the road and I regretted not saying anything.

donated some time and taught some 'skills' at a kids summer camp
taught some 'teens' to assist others during the 'heat wave'
and the best one......kept my mouth shut and doled out compassion when I really wanted to 'smurk 'n say...told ya!'

Yesterday I interrupted my apres-dinner bike ride to stop and ring the door bell of a house along the route to tell the occupants the lights of the vehicle parked outside had been left on.

They were very grateful.

I found an old half used pool punch card for a local pool that is about half an hours bus ride from my house (a new pool which i am a member of opened up 5 minutes away from my house on foot) in my walet and so i took it to the pool and told the attendant i didnt need it anymore and that he should let the next 5 people through using my punches rather than making them pay the admission.

I gave someone a massage today as a gift of appreciation.
This is the week of my birthday, a time when I take inventory of my life, appreciate all the goodness that surrounds me and give gifts to those who I am close to or been kind to me in some way. Yes, instead of receiving gifts I give them, on my birthday. I love it!
I also exfoliate activities, things and people who just take time and space.
Makes life simpler>orderly>harmonious>beautiful>joyous.

i delivered a ringing slap to the face of a hysterical man in a chicken suit who was hyperventilating - i then pushed his head between his knees and forced him to breathe into a paper bag - unfortunately he then staggered out into traffic and got hit by a bus.

I didn't shove a Albertan thru the snow shed on the Coquihalla last night because they didn't understand what the "fast lane" was for. Funny,even at 2 a.m. I could see the whites of their eyes when I finally got to pass them. Bet ya that driver is starting to understand that the word "mountain" involves going "up and down".
