"Multiple women"? Like twins or triplets? Perhaps if you mean "several" you should say "several"?

Still, one has to wonder what someone is thinking when they post a picture of themselves scowling. Not too inviting.

I have seen the same with men. Once, a prospective serial coffee-meeter messaged me from his profile with the main pic of him with another man in it. I asked who the handsome older gentleman was and he said his father (I thought it was his boyfriend). I asked for his father's number.

You have way more cojones than I do. I have sometimes seen a woman with her more-interesting-looking mother but never had the audacity to ask.

I tend not to give photos until I’ve done a fair bit of screening. Messaging when it comes to dating for me, has to have some potential of another date or something leading to more. I’m not interested in meeting every quick random person who sends a quick random message I receive . I like to be sure the foundations are in place first. Like good communication and a build up of consistent communication,so I know they are not just impulsive and mucking around. Then when selected, they go on a meet list and if we don’t wish to go further than one date, usually have met up and had at least a good fun date.

What things turn people off when viewing profiles pics?

I tried to redo my profile yesterday with pictures that made me look worse but then in the end I was just looking and thinking, I just can't do this. I want to attract less attractive guys but I can't make myself look different on pictures. So I deleted my photos altogether.

What turns me off when it comes to profile pics is when guys are laying in bed or shirtless. To me that reads sleazy and looking for sex-only. Another turn off is a scowl, makes me the think the guy is either a grouch or has no sense of humour. Another turn off is a beard. And yet another thing is if he has those weird earring things, the wooden looking ones that stretch the years which I find gross. If there's not those things, even if the pic isn't great, I'll usually click on the pic to read a profile, as long as the initial message does not contain a per name such as "Hi Sweetie" or "Hi honey".

So generally, I would say the initial message is 10%, the main pic is 20%, the additional pics are 20% and the profile itself is 50%. And divide the profile into two sections: the actual facts which include height, job, age, parental status, etc. and the written part. Ultimately the facts part carries much more sway. Height is a huge dealbreaker. I'm 5'8.5 so I will not usually respond to a guy that is under 5'8 unless he has a damn good profile.

Lol, I don’t ever post pictures of me with my girlfriends on dating sites. They all, except one, happen to be very attractive women. Posting pics with people who are hot sounds like self-sabotage 🙄🙄🙄 and I’m not going to post pics of me with the not-as-attractive friend either because that would be messed-up.

Pictures of a guy and a group of women. You know, cheerleaders, waitresses at Hooters, or just a random group of women in a bar. What is he thinking about?
Pictures of him with a gun, and a dead animal. REALLY?

Sorry, I don't see women's pictures so I would guess it would be sitting on a bathroom counter to show the size of her butt.

There's an old lady in here who uses photo shop. Her main pic has her standing next to an automobile with Roy Orbison style sunglasses. Maybe she just had cataract surgery or had her crossed eye corrected, I dunno. Then she has a 2nd pic with eyes and mouth photoshopped in, and the face smoothed out to remove all lines, wrinkles and liver spots whilst claiming to be age 83,

Maybe she is applying for a job with "The Granny Gallery": a porn site for Octogenarian aficionados

Goody, our in house dirty old man will be the 1st one lined up to check it out ;0P

^^^^I don't understand why you're doing this.
You're clearly using another picture to post when it's pretty
obvious who you are. Who cares what someone else uses for
their picture when you're not even using yours?

Dragging someone around the threads like that should be
beneath even you.

And are we going to be ripping off all the disguises being
worn around here...like we're too stupid to know?

+ 1 million.

OT: The bathroom selfie is by far the worst possible picture anyone can use for their profile. I'd rather see nothing than someone's bathroom toilet.

I see these kind of pictures all of the time and I don't get why they can't look at the mirror instead of at their phone when they take it. It makes them look cross eyed.

I see girls take full height mirror selfies at my gym locker room. It has a nice full height mirror. I think they look at the mirror while taking the pics. Ah, the toned figures on those girls... I see why they love doing it.

Agree that bathroom selfies are bad - especially the ones taken in a public Port-A-John.

Hey Whiterose.

You have to be a real wiz to compete in the portable-toilet market these days.
I think I'm onto something here. We could go into business.
Design/create, market 4x6 photo frames in the shape of /color of, "Porta -potties" !
A designers dream come true! A frame for every room!

LOL, Cha-ching!

Ladyinred, I think you're onto something. You could make some big money designing porta-potties for cross country motorcycles. The selfies would be very interesting, too.

I think most bathroom selfies don't include the toilet. There's usually not a mirror in front of the toilet, although that'd be cool. I mean, who cares what room it's in, as long as nothing's sticking out (an unflushed toilet in the bathroom; lube+dildo in the bedroom; dirty dishes in the kitchen)?

OKC found that selfies actually aren't bad in results, even with shirts off despite women complaining, as it actually gets higher than average (under 3o or 35 where age group produces decent bodies).

I agree there. When I'm on Bumble and I'm leafing thru, and the 1st & 2nd pics are of two gals -- I always assume it's the uglier one. I'm almost always right when I get to the 3rd or 4th when it's just them or I can deduce who "she" is, based on the friends varying. I think they do that to get guys' interest to Look. If said gal isn't bad looking tho, my guess is that it still brings positive results.

and I’m not going to post pics of me with the not-as-attractive friend either because that would be messed-up.

I don't see it as messed up, but strategic - lol. However, the drawback is, a guy could "swipe left" hastily, assuming you're the less attractive without sizing up all the pictures. Assuming that doesn't happen, IMO, it raises your stock price.

Kind of reminds me of purposely looking better In Person VS your pictures. It's a careful art. You'll get less "hits" with attractive people, but when you do go out on a date, your dating stock price rises higher than what it's actually worth.

I do agree that it's a careful art & slippery slope. One has to be careful not to completely sabotage themselves with their pictures that are not the best. When I was active with OLD, I'd post decent pictures but not my very best because I didn't care for too much superficial attention. Once I conducted an experiment with choosing a not-so-flattering yet realistic photo of me as my main one. I had no makeup & glasses on, whereas most of the others I'd have light makeup & contacts in. The verdict? NO MESSAGES at all with the glasses + bare-face. I still got plenty of views but no one messaged me.

^^^^^^I am much more likely to message a women in casual, everyday clothes before one dressed to the nines. more concerned with how someone looks most of the time, not on a special occasion.

That's nice but they didn't see my clothes, except the top of my shirt. I've gotten more male attention, both on and offline, when I had contacts and some makeup on. Regardless of what men say ("I prefer women who wear no makeup" or "Girls with glasses are sexy!!!"), my experience has been the opposite of what many of y'all claim.

Sometimes the women in these pictures (in particular the bold part) can actually be friends, relatives, co-workers etc.
