Notice: Forums will be shutdown by June 2019

To focus on better serving our members, we've decided to shut down the POF forums.

While regular posting is now disabled, you can continue to view all threads until the end of June 2019. Event Hosts can still create and promote events while we work on a new and improved event creation service for you.

Thank you!

most of then just want something to ocupy thier time, and give them something to do,and it always cheers me up when i get a letter as the ones i write to are really cool n funny.
go for it you may make some good friends like i have done.

Pen Pals in the Forces

Hi all,

I must have missed this thread before! I'm currently serving in the Royal Navy and think the pen-pal idea is awesome! Yes there's internet (to a degree) but nothing compares to the joy of receiving an actual physical letter from home.

In addition to what has already been said; yes the Army are doing a fine job, but don't forget about all the Matelots that are also tied up down there. I guess the RAF should get a mention too!

I'm deploying to the Gulf again fairly soon, and would love to have a pen-pal... it would certainly give me something else to do in downtime.
