I personally feel shaved is so much more attractive for many reasons. The young lady still makes the best point. It's just a damn nuisance. Especially in the pubic area.

it's a remnant of a very distant past when people didn't wear clothes. It's not necessary anymore.

The same could be said about hair on your head and eyebrows. Will you be shaving those too?

Body hair is not something I've ever had much of an opinion about one way or the other. Being an all natural kind of guy I don't mind a bit if a woman doesn't shave her pubes, her legs, her arm pits. Doing or not doing that IS a fad. Some cultures go one way, some others, and when I was in my teens and twenties I NEVER ran across a woman with shaved pubic hair. Now it's far more common. During the hippie era leg and pit hair were common as well. No problem in my book.

So long as I'm not dealing with bristles I don't much care.

I think it's a personal preference thing...And my personal preference is the natural look down there.
I find it strange that some people find natural pubic hair growth to be "gross".
I guess you better complain to God then, because that is how he made us.

Although if a woman wants to shave, then shave, it if makes her feel better.
We can agree to disagree, because it is her body.

We all have our preferences, and to shave or not to shave in the end is a small matter and won't make or break a relationship.
I prefer the natural look, but it's not all about me is it?

What was your point in making that terrible comparison?

My point was that head hair serves no more purpose than pubic hair. There are plenty of bald folk running around with no apparent life deficiencies.

Hey, if you prefer to be shaved, that's great. I've got a beard, some men don't. There's no right or wrong to it. I was simply pointing out the fallacy of asserting there was some validity in shaving ANY of your hair beyond personal preference or conforming to social norms or pleasing a partner. Those are all valid reasons for a personal choice, but not for expecting anyone else to necessarily do the same as you do, unless you're trying to convince your partner to shave for your sake.

As I've noted on other topics, I'm fully supportive of anyone adopting the look they like best in themselves. We should all feel good about our personal grooming habits, whatever they are.

What looks good to others is very much an eye of the beholder thing. I agree that shaved eyebrows would look a little weird to me, but if everybody had them I'd get used to them soon enough. And in general I'm a big fan of long hair on a woman, but I've seen the occasional bald woman who looked pretty hot too.

I really wasn't trying to pick a fight, as I'm generally supportive of everything else you wrote. I was just calling you on that one point.

They get pretty cold in the winter. But hey. Nitpick all you want.

Well in that case you oughta grow a beard for some extra winter warmth....

Look, if you peruse my posting history you'll find I'm consistently supportive of everyone's right to make their own personal choices. And you'll find posts where I concede points to others as well.

But you'll also find that my hackles go up when someone suggests that their personal choice is somehow the way everyone ought to be. You didn't quite go there, but you implied it by asserting that choosing to keep the hair we're naturally endowed with is essentially clinging to our neanderthal origins and hopelessly outdated.

By that logic we should all have our appendix and toenails removed, as they serve no modern purpose.

Each one of us is unique, both in our physical characteristics and our preferences. I think that diversity should be cherished.

I don't need to be right. I'm secure in my values and enjoy offering my perspective in discussions here. So far as I know nobody is keeping score. Unless stated otherwise I assume all others posting here are secure in their own perspectives as well. It's our differences that keep these forums interesting, don't you think?

See, you kind of took my defensive argument and magically turned it into an antagonistic one

My apologies if I misinterpreted you.

We're both putting way too much energy into a minor difference.

I would appreciate if you'd lay off the assessment of my character and my potential appeal to women. I haven't thrown anything like that at you. If I contest what someone posts, I strive to keep it to the issue, not the person, which is not only more appropriate but in keeping with forum rules.

And once again, if you check out my posting history, you'll find that I may argue an issue vigorously but also respect others right to their own perspectives. No condescension is ever intended, nor judgment of anyone's worth as a person. If anything I said was taken by you to be either condescending or not respecting your right to your perspective please know that that was not my intent.

Now can we agree that everyone should be free to shave or not shave whatever hair they choose and move on to other pressing issues of the day?

"hair also increases pheremone retention." that means it also increses all odors. Some not so good. I think some women will post that their gynocologist recommends shaving as being medically cleaner.

It is the porn industry's fault. Men see shaven women in porn and next thing you know they are asking you to do it! For something different once in awhile fine but I don't make a habit of it. Neat and clean should be enough of an invitation to come on down!

Stop arguing just for the sake of arguing
.

Uhm......isn't that what you are doing??

You give off the impression that you resent either women or young people, or both.

and you give off the impression you resent anyone that has a different opinion than your own

If you want to shave ....then shave.......
absolutely no reason to get your pubes in a knot on whether a man thinks a shaved puss looks like a little girl........it's his personal opinion and whether you agree or not will never make it wrong for him to think that way.
While I agree I have the body of a 49 year old woman and having a shaved puss doesn't change that fact.........I believe what these men are saying is it makes the actual pubic region look like a little girl "to them". It's not that far of a stretch to see the connection in their minds. But you would have to actually have to try to see their point, instead of trying to drill your point into everyone's heads.

re msg 433: Well, don't take it personally. You've already heard from some of us "older folks", and some of us agree. Hey, agree to disagree. And perhaps shaving appeals to younger , older folks. This subject usually pops up (excuse the pun) after a couple of dates. Some women were stunned to learn that both up and downstairs were properly maintained. Time to get in step. Hey, what a crack up, sitting in the seedy motel room; thanking God for an unmanageable bush. LOL. I like the Sci Fi movie of the hairless as well. What a great opportunity to advertise Schick products. It would be very interesting to get the demographics re: shaved/unshaved for the post 50 set. Maybe a new game show where contestants could provide guesses re: well you know......OK, Chrissy, I'm veering from my point, some folks just get stuck in a rut. Don't be too hard on us folks from your parents generation.

Wow, it's scary how much older people hate younger people here,

It's not a matter of age or hate. Your logic was challenged and you took it personally. That happens on the forums.

Pretty much everyone here grants that body hair grooming is a matter of personal choice. Different people have expressed their personal preferences for themselves and others. For most everyone it all falls into the same category as whether to wear makeup of not, perfume or cologne or not, shave facial hair or not, grow your head hair long or trim it short, or any other personal grooming choice.

You asserted that somehow body hair was less evolutionarily justified than head hair and when challenged attacked your challengers as much as their arguments, which prompted someone else to criticize your method of response. No one but you brought your age or ours into the discussion. Any venom to be found has come more from your posts than others.

So chill already. Argue the issue without presuming sinister motives in those who disagree. We're not talking world peace here. It's a grooming choice not likely to have any impact on the future of the planet or our species, who our next president will be, or how secure any of our jobs are. It's certainly not worth anyone hating anyone over.

All human hair does have some sort of purpose, albeit not one our very lives depend on. I prefer a natural look to shaved, and like some men my initial reaction to a totally shaved look is that it looks prepubescent, but I get past that quickly enough. If I'm attracted to a woman her hair grooming habits won't really affect that one way or the other. I don't buy any arguments that shaving is somehow cleaner or more evolved but I fully accept anyone's right to do whatever they want with their hair. It's their body to maintain how they choose.

In recent years in the U.S. shaving has become more common. That's a fad, or trend if you prefer. Hard telling what future trends might be. The same could be said for skirt lengths, head hairstyles, and all sorts of things. There's no right or wrong to it, no call for hate.

And that's my simple perspective on body hair, no better or worse than anyone else's perspective. As with any topic if someone says something I find irrational I may well call them on it, but by pointing out the logic I disagree with, not intending any slight to the person whose logic I differ with.

That's how civil discussion works. Sometimes these forums are more civil than others. Maybe I should stick to safer topics like politics and religion.

And of course with the advent of perfume/cologne, all that stuff about pheromones gets kind of washed away too.

Natural guy that I am, I find a woman's natural scent far more enticing than any perfume I've ever whiffed. Another matter of different tastes for different folks.

Almost every woman I've ever been intimate with has been unshaven, most of them untrimmed, and I've never found the quantity of hair a turn off. Some just have more than others. It's what's underneath that counts. Again, a matter of taste.

And since you you persist in assessing how my writing style affects my appeal, know that my in box and responses to forum posts show that there certainly are women who like what I write and how I write it. Just one more matter of personal taste.

So we aren't left with many compelling reasons to keep the bush.

Nor do we have compelling reasons to shave it. Until you're with that special someone nobody knows, and if they're that special hopefully by the time they discover whatever is or isn't there they won't be deterred.

But anyone who straight up says they prefer big old bush is nuts. That's just gross.

Since you seem to want to bring age into the discussion......I will say
yours is showing with comments like ^^ that.

It's called personal preference......some men like it.......some men don't.....some don't give a damn.
But I shall repeat myself and say........it doesn't make any of them right, wrong or nuts.

I've been groomed in about every possible fashion one could think of.....
I'm more into variety then just one standard look.
But the one thing I am not into........is being told by anyone, man or woman, how I should style my coochie.
Requests for a certain style will be considered by the management, but management has the final decision

Look,I do not care if your generation, has the little girl, fetish, I really dont

When I was your age, women where mutilating there bodies, getting breast augmentation

clean shaven is far less drastic

if fashion changes, you could always grow it out
sadly millions of women, who had breast jobs, ended up with auto immune, problems, cancer, and all kind of health problems
the generation before me, it was 'the sun tan' millions of people ended up with skin cancer

I think this topic could be divided into two issues.

1.If you are male or female and you want to shave from head to toe or whatever....then just do it..it is your body, no one will stop you.

2.nd issue, What do i think of it PERSONALLY?
Yes they are two very different things.

Me PERSONALLY, I would never shave my privates, and PERSONALLY I find the natural look [unshaven] much more sexy on a woman.
I agree with the other posters in reference to intimate area shaving having its roots in the porn industry, and the relationship of hair and the retention of the opposite sex attracting pheromones.

You have to realize I have the overwhelming majority of mankind's human history on my side.
Women have looked natural down there for a very look time in relation to human history, and we are hard wired to be attracted to pheromone's from the opposite sex..

Thousands of years of human evolution, verses, the porn industries influenced fad.
