Then go out with both

But you only have until Saturday so you better get on it!

No Gon...the date always was the 24th...but we have granted an extension for a few people, including YOU

Welll. our date didn't happen, I'm still not sure why. Received a phone call from the lady about an hour before we were to meet, telling me that unexpected things had come up and she couldn't make it..
I suggested she get back to me later with some alternative plans and times. No call. Looks like some confusion in the communications has occurred. Maybe we could get an extension as well? I'll call her and see what's up...

Well I went on my pond date we were to meet at a Starbucks in bby for coffee, not what I had in mind but was what my match wanted, so that's ok.
Well we were supposed to meet at 6pm and I arrived a little early and got a coffee and sat and waited till 7:30 and she must have got stuck in traffic and her phone probably died, I gave her my cell #,

Hey ....lookn4u

That was not to nice and I have a date also with this lady..not sure how ?? but I don't think I will drive from Chilliwack to Vancouver to meet for a coffee ....to find out that I am drinking by myself ...no thanks not going to happen ..

Hopefully, round one sorted out all the Pond Scum and it is going to be all the fun loving Fishes left from here on in!!

There is going to be a few changes in the way things are done this time...shorter sign up for one and I am hoping that will make for better success with the matches.

The thing people seem to be forgetting, is that this is for FUN!! It is a way to meet new people and to expand your social network. It is NOT about being matched with your "soul mate", although if that happened it would be very cool.

Ive been following this thread from the beginning - AWESOME IDEA! and its SUPER to see how many PoFers are taking it for what it is - as a friendly meet without expectations... and maybe end up having a friendship out of it all...

With that said, its really disgusting to see those that either "disappear" or just dont follow thru on the plans made... I would never have thought there would be this many inconsiderate ppl on pof...

I guess Fox and crew will just have a smaller turn out for round 2 (which will make things MUCH easier on them!) if a few have been eliminated because of their own actions! ... at least the genuine PoFers will shine thru!

Allright, I'll post something more positive for Pond Control. Both myself and my date were rejected by our first matches (not our types either, but this was for fun wasn't it?).

We ended up having a great day at the PNE: watching Pig Races, Superdogs, Motorcross, etc., eating mini donuts & spending some quality time in the massage chairs located in the Showmart Building (you should try it...very sinful).

He brought me flowers and I had a single rose for him. I've made a new friend who shares many similar interests with me, so it's all good.

Now... onto Round 2 and my next victim.

Great job to all those matchers, and to all those fishies signing up for the next round... please remember the chances of meeting the match of your dreams are pretty slim..this is for fun!

My apologies for being late on the recap, but as vancouverblonde already mentioned, it was a great day on the town. We even managed to find time for a bite to eat at a notorious downtown eastside eatery...mmmmm :p

And the massage chairs... don't get me started... wow, just wow

We had so much fun we didn't even get around to talking about coronation street, lol.

Thanks again to WTF and all for putting this together, to vancouverblonde for being a great date... looking forward to the next one! Cheers!

well wtf.... you outdid yourself on this one. It was amazing...

I mean... Is there anybody else out there that i could have a farting and burping contest with? She let some doozies go.. and silent ones to boot. It was awesome.
Then to top it all off... she took off her wig.. man.. bald as kojak... i loved every second rubbing that shiny orb.

thanks wtf and matchmakers

completed my pond date from round #1 had a great date and was fun!
Great venue we attended Rocking on the River and socialized with some other fishies as well.
Steelwheels ROCK! good rendition of the Stones.
Thanks Originalreality for informing us about this venue. Was an absolute blast and think this place would be a great place to host an event right by the water, nice walkway down to the river as well.
Had an ABSOLUTE BLAST!
Thanks to the matchmakers and all ur hard work.
Looking forward to round #2 !

I am still not sure if I want to join in this round because last round my apparent match disappeared of the face of POF and that makes me hesitant on joining.

Actually, given the fact there were 204 people signed up for round one, we had very FEW people bail...I believe final tally was 18. Less than 10% pond scum....means a pretty damn healthy body of water!! Now that we have done some scooping and filtering, I am positive Part Deux will be even more successful!!

Wow, I left for Vegas before the sign up date so I figured the "experiment" would be full by the time I got back - I had a good time on the first date so I'm looking forward to see what round 2 brings!
Thanks again to all those matchmakers for putting this out there - it is very much appreciated!!!

When we do the matches we do split up the Pond. It was split into island, abby/wack, surrey/langley/delta, okanagan and then Van/richmond/new west

There is no way I am going to match people over long distances unless they specifically tell me it is alright.

Oddly, we had more men than women in most age groups and in most locations. We had trouble matching up smokers because of limited numbers of them participating and we had far too few people under 30.

Now that we have Pond Part One under our belts we have a LOT better grasp on how to organize future Ponds. I am working on compiling reports already of the demographics of Pond Part Deux and will be sending out email encouraging participation in those areas where there is a need. I am nothing if not logical and organized...so relax.. lol

There is no reason why participants in the Pond cannot be contacting Fish outside the Pond and trying to date on their own while they await matching by Pond Control.
