~~~~~~In raw and emotionally exposed.....this is what came in response to your words about being numb and then crying .......and the truth breaks through......~~~~~
There's a crack in everything,
I've heard somewhere around
That's how the light
a way in is found.
So as a heart breaks
and flood gates open wide
the light of truth
finds its way inside
Immersing your soul
with sadness and knowing
but preparing you for a new day
when healed and glowing
Only then will love will find
a new abode
In an open ready heart
to which so much has been showed.
So, embrace the pain
and let todays tears flow
Living in the moment
births a lighter tomorrow.
Hi Salty
Even long before we met we fought together well
Fought hard on here to try and keep things honest
We both supported what and who needed to be supported
You were the voice of reason
I was the loose cannon who dared to voice the words nobody else would
We did a lot of good
If everyone leaves after being attacked what will we have here??
Simply insular little groups who will destroy each other
No place for writing
Gathered feasting
gargoylesque the vultures come
picking the weakest
I looked deeply inside of the me-ness that erupts from the inside of myself.
Ever deeper do I probe into my every thought and issuance of my brain.
Am I in fact the end all summation of mankind's need to know?
Does my every utterance ring profound in the emptiness?
Is emptiness more empty for the simple lack of me?
Yes, my soul utters to my unconsciousness...I am.
I am me the never ending celebration of mankind that is my self absorption.
Sorry, once again, sometimes its just right there.
Somewhere on that long black wall you'll find me
At least I mean that there you'll find a name
This monument to sacrifice and honor
A testament to grief, despair and shame
A nations youth, a generations flower
Is honored here upon this long black stone
Rest in peace my valiant, fallen brothers
The lives you gave will never be unknown
Perhaps one day we will take the time to ponder
How we sacrificed so many of our young
And walked away without the reassurance
Of knowing that at least the job was done
In battle there is never any glory
There is always death and bloody sacrifice For these soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines
Who gave their lives and paid a heavy price
We should never have gone there in the first place
By now I think that most of us agree
But please don't send your children into battle
And leave with out achieving victory
It matters not who won the war to the dead and gone
Though the day they died is eulogized in poetry and song
The only thing that matters when at last the war done
Is what it is that the victor does with peace, when peace is won
But first, to be a victory No matter what they say
You have to stand to colors
You cannot run away
Remember this before you scoff
And dismiss me as some hawk
With out some steel in someones spine
Freedom so much talk
I remember autumn, long ago
The senses almost overwhelmed
With hues and colors bright in october sun
The crispness of the air against a reddened cheek
The hint of coming winter in the early morning frost
The memory of summer past in mid day warmth
But, evening
That was all your very own
And, so was I, that autumn, long ago
You do not feel my sorrow
So, it must not exist
My pain does not stop you
It is just no problem
I am poor and have no money
Your wealth is uninterrupted
My life has been such an inconvenience
But only for you
I will try and die on a Tuesday
Your weekend will be safe
