Before the Devil Knows You're Dead.

Don't rent it - Buy it. Or simply don't watch it. It's kind of depressing, unless you're feeling depressed yourself, then it'll probably make you feel better about yourself knowing you're not as a big of a screw-up as those two losers (Philip Seymour Hoffman and Ethan Hawke).

Msg: 59 -- put in "Darby o'Gil and the Little People" - Sean Connery is like 20 in that movie, one of his firsts!

THIS movie should NEVER have been mentioned in THIS thread. Yes, I agree it was an excellent movie, but to even be MENTIONED in something with a subject title of "Movies to never rent"? There are MANY movies I have enjoyed, and many I have lamented even viewing. The lamentable bear announcing here. The good ones should NOT be.

Msg: 10 -- Chronicles of Riddick... it's really nothing after Pitch
Black, which was actually pretty good. CoR is more of a 'see once'
movie, rather than a don't see...

Chronicles of Riddick, "see once". Now, I agree with that. I
thoroughly enjoyed that movie, AS a "one-shot". I have seen and
enjoyed MANY "one-shot" movies, NONE of which I would care to see
again. It got me going at the time I saw it, but there was not enough
push to it inspiring me to view it again. Almost like an awe-inspiring
prostitute that I would quite willingly pay to fvck ONE time, but
would not care to see her again.

Msg: 14 -- did you mean Toxic Avenger? I loved this Troma film,
stupid, but was pretty funny I thought.

At one time, I truly TRIED to tolerate and accept, even ENJOY the
Troma movies; tried and FAILED. NONE that I have seen inspired the
smallest tidbit of pleasure.

Msg: 45 -- tropic thunder, one of the worst movies i've ever seen lol

I watched it because the TRAILER was one of the BEST I've seen. Uhh,
trailers apparently are MEANT to be deceiving. While this movie was
not the WORST I have seen, it definitely rates right down there.

Msg: 60 -- Keane Reeves with his Surfer Dude accent in Francis Ford's
version of Dracula was funnier?

OK, I agree here. But, PLEASE, if you choose to state an actor's NAME,
SPELL it PROPERLY. The NAME is "Keanu Reeves". He is an excellent
actor, in SPITE of the fact that he portrayed roles in less than
stellar movies.

Darby O' Gill and the Little People was awesome.

Goes without saying. But I maintain that EXCELLENT movies do NOT belong on THIS forum.

Does anyone know the definition of "Off Topic"? THIS is IT!

There was a time when Eddie could do no wrong... then...

Pluto Nash
Norbit
Holy Man
I-Spy
Meet Dave
Haunted Mansion
Daddy Day Care
Showtime

Bleah....

I wonder who called the POF Spellchecker police on me for hitting the E instead of the U in "Keanu Reeves?"....???

and I will amend my "off topic" comment concerning Darby O Gill and the Little People?

Movies never to rent...... Darby O Gill and the Little People.....just go ahead and buy it!

I have a universal axiom about bad films- any film promoted by an airhead celeb with a clip on the talk show circuit has a high probability of being mentally toxic. I doubt that Ben Cross made the rounds of the talkies with a clip of Chariots of Fire......

I still have a bad taste left over from viewing Eagle Eye.

It started out promising..... and just turned into total crap. Two hours of my life wasted on this. I learned my lesson though.... 15 minutes into The Day The Earth Stood Still and I quickly reached for the remote.... click!

...and then wasted a few hours on Halo Wars!

The DaVinci Code starring Tom Hanks. A real snoozer.

I didn't realize the search for christianity's supposed secret was such a boring affair.

The Star Wars Christmas Special (2 hours of torture and the only thing i can remember from it is Bea Arthur being in it.. and the fact that George Lucas & Harrison Ford are too embarassed to acknowledge the exsistance of the movie... and rightfully so)

Well, no one will be renting it since it's not available officially anywhere. Lucas did say in an interview that if he could he would destroy all copies with a sledge hammer.

Well, except for a few truly bad films I've seen on here there are many I've seen posted that aren't that bad. If I had not rented these films under others recommendations I would have missed out on movies I like.

yeah, Weird Science is a 80's classic movie!!!

Dude come on. The movie is like the nasty clogged toilet in your college dorm hall. The guy who left it that way just wrote merry xmas on it instead of telling the janitor.

Weird Science is definitely no where even remotely as bad as you're trying to make it out to be. This is one of the great 80's cult classics. If you want to see a movie as bad as your above description try watching one of the many shot-on-video movies from the 80's. Or anything from Brain Damage Films or Sub Rosa. Or try watching Creepshow III, or Day of the Dead 2: Contagium.

Nick Cage was mention a few times on this thread for a few of is film he played in,but another film not mention so far, starring Nicky ,certainly deserve to be mention here....What about Ghost Ryder!!!... Lame ,stupid ,pathetic piece of crap!!

Now here 's a short list of perfect film not to rent;

- The Spawn ( left the theatre about 40 mins after it started)
- Staying Alive ( the sequel of Saturday Nigth Fever,Sly Stallone directed
that one,do i need to say more ? )
- Da Vinci Code ( Tom Hanks finds the mystery of christianity in 5 mins )
- Meet Joe Black ( take at least 3 Red Bull before this one )
- The Bloom Brothers ( starring Adrien Brody, long and painfull)
- 2012 ( Roland Emmerich, the director, probably thinks that we are all
a stupid bunch of ass...)
- Planet of the Ape's ( Tim Burton version was simply BAD,BAD,BAD )
- The Messenger,The Story of Joan Of Arc ( This movie only proves one
thing, that Luc Besson the director is an idiot)

@Guelphdude: I SOOO second you on "horror" flicks made in the last 10 years. Or more. 30, maybe. The last good one I saw was "Alien" even though it's SciFi as well.

The absolute worst movie I've ever seen that wasn't porn is an Aussie SciFi disaster called "Narcosys". And I'm fairly tolerant of really bad flicks, including Tromatrash.

As I age, and my testosterone settles down to levels which are conducive to rational thought, slasher/gore/car chase/shoot-em-ups/moronic war movies really, really turn me off. I'd rather that Shamwow jerkoff.

I don't know why you didn't like it. It had a car chase, gun battles, a plot... oh, OK, nevermind.

EnglishChappy: Quantum of Solace. This is the worst Bond movie I've seen. Shame as Casino Royal was very good.

Casino Royale was not really a Bond film. It was a parody of Bond films and a showcase for Peter Sellers. Don't know how anyone could miss the parody aspect. Well, actually, I do.

@Psilocybintrip: Dude, you DO understand what site you are posting on, right? This is not the HipForums, or Opiophile, or BlueLight, or Erowid. Nobody, but nobody, who is a member here even knows how to spell "drug", let alone come within 1776 miles of one. Except for alcohol, caffeine, nicotine, valium, klonopin, adderal, nuvigil, wellbutrin, celexa, prozac, xanax, soma, oxycontin, opana, kadian, codeine, morphine, dilaudid, restoril, ambien, sonata, baclofen, methadone, effexor, abilify, concerta, cymbalta, lithium, lexapro, neurontin, paxil, pristique, ritalin, serax, seroquel, thorazine, trazodone, topomax, vistaril, zoloft, and so on et cetera yada yada.

Those are OK. MJ? These are fine, upstanding christian wimmens on here. No way, no how, never ever, not even in college. Nope. In fact, from 1965 to now, there have only been 3 people in the whole Yoonited States what ever smoked Mary -joowanna, and only two of them inhaled, and I wuz one of the two.

Well, there go my chances for a date here in Republican Bible-belt marietta, Jawja.

Not anymore.

Although I do miss browsing the aisles of Blockbuster. They used to have good deals on every now and then.
