Morning all,
Mmmmmy, Thanks!!! Loved the write!!!

Lost Sage

Walk with me
Along the river shore
Gaze upon the sight
Of the eagles who soar

Remember the peace
Felt within your heart
A moment, with out care
In life’s, ceremony of art

Inhale the clarity
Of time lost as you age
Retrieve your inner child
Your long elapsed sage

Hold my hand
As you close your eyes
Trust your spirit
That renders you wise……

I was gonna write something really amazing on my thread
but, I smoked one and decided to write here instead
I only have about ten minutes
so I thought I'd write about biscuits

I haven't even made them yet
needed a biscuit recipe and asked "the brown baker" for some baking powder magic
(bet he giggles if you poke him in the stomach)
I sure as hell giggled when I tasted his cookie recipe
decadent...I baked a lemon cake just to make more icing
redneck thing
or something

crap..that took 12 minutes..
something is gonna be 2 minutes raw
I'll tell you later about the biscuits
I've still got to let the flour thaw

And just how did those biscuits turn out Dog? LOL

Soul Searching
These last few weeks
Jumbled thoughts
Come in streaks
Wanted a sign
Of what's to come
Or just the lyrics
To the song I hum
Looked for the sunrise
But it snowed instead
So I put on my jammies
And got back in bed

Morning all,

Dog, Awesome song, I got Fishing Fever so bad right now!! I can’t wait for the opener!!!

Sun is bursting
Temps in the forty’s
Heat wave upon us
Coats peeling off the Shorty’s

Doing the two step
Down the wet pavement
I gots the fishing fever
Can’t hold it’s containment

Want all the ice off the waters
Need to reel one in
I thrive for my spring time
Was forever since it’s been

Morning all,

Mmmmmm, nice write!!!!! Hugs!!!

Pickles, I hear ya hun!!! All is well here, how about there?

Each day I watch
The inches of snow melt away
The trees are budding out
More mud each day

Shades of green
Breaking through the sod fields
New found streams in every ditch
Funny how much the snow yields

Unbeatable scent in the air
The birth of spring is near
But Mother Nature holds the cards
It’s what she can deal, I fear…..

Here’s to hoping
The snow will end
And soon will have
Our gardens to tend…….

we have oak pollen dangling off of every tree
it falls off in a kind of bally string
greenish yellow dust covers everything
only a good downpour keeps it from falling

and all of the trees have that fresh green leaf glow
the weeds are thriving, but the grass is still slow
that same downpour will make it grow
then I'll be writing about pushing the mower

I thought my giant rubber tree got killed in the freeze
I cut it back to an eight foot stump without any leaves
you can butcher the fvck out of them without fear of killing
(I studied up..did you know these things can get up to two hundred feet?)
it already has about a thousand red branches breaking free

never did get around to planting the seeds for the garden
now I think I'll just set some plants in
just go down to the flea market for Vidalia onions
and fresh tomatoes straight out of Ruskin

the corn should be in from Homestead
small sweet yellow and white ears that you butter on bread
it's as good as it gets
the kids eat it raw if you let them
(hungry yet?)

you won't be able to drive a mile through the country
without seeing a sign that says "pick your own peas"
I know that blackeyed's are a southern thing
but, gotta try these

the farmers sell their stuff for nearly nothin'
down here in central florida people are hurtin'
and store brand juice is up to $4.59 a gallon
I've learned to live like the migrant mexicans

you don't waste a thing and know where to shop
don't ask "why so cheap? is it hot?"
do ask "would you take less? I've only got a ten spot"
that's when you find out if they're serious about selling or not

gotta do that just to survive nowdays
save up money to buy gasoline
which is going in the truck and the boat monday or tuesday
just rubbin it in, darlin...yeah, I know I'm mean

Good Morning All,

LOL Dog, That was great!!!!!

Happy St. Patty's Day!!!!!!

So it’s snowing here again
A winter storm tonight
Yet I sit in my garage
Fixing my fishing poles just right

Got the tackle box cleaned out
New line on each rod
Waiting for all the waters
To be done being thawed

Can’t be to much longer
I’ll go completely insane
I need to feel the heat again
And go dancing in the rain….

Morning all,

The snow has come
4 inches in all
Now is melting
Tomorrow Spring will call

Tulips will sprout
Sumac will turn
The sun will rise
New life we'll learn

Buds of the leaves
Unfold with grace
And finally the warmth
We shall embrace

Come the Robins
To nest once more
Next the to river
Above the shore

Soon the forest
Will have a canopy
And beautiful Nature
Is all we'll see...........

happy easter
hi darlin, thanks for the text
I bet you laughed and wondered if I even knew how to check the message

cajun got a new rod in his easter basket
open faced reel and the pole's telescopic
he's been sittin on the boat practicin
gotta love it
so far I've cut out a dozen crow's nests
thank god he's tired of castin
now he's huntin butterflies with the dipnet

he's all excited 'cause I told him next time we go fishin I'd let him use a hook
I've been having him practice casting with a harmless cork
I'd like to take him fishin for snook
but, I don't wanna put the aluminum boat in salt
Kinda anal, I know
gonna get over that, though
that's why I bought this big deck boat
it's even got a poddy so the girls can go
that's always good for a laugh
it's either that, or over the side with an ass
hahaha...girls are funny about that
don't wanna accidently pee on a bass
sooner or later
"I've really got to go" takes over
shyness overtaken by nature
about then I make a joke about hearing them tinkle

I betcha got a houseful, darlin
thanks for thinkin about us
I just pulled a lemon pie out of the oven
I went simple
not traditional
it'll still be good, though
ham and a couple boxes of scalloped potatoes
a few fresh ears of corn and sliced cukes with herbed tomatoes
that's about it
well, and a loaf of bread made by jesus

cajun said something earlier about liking gold
and I made a crack about him studying judism
nobody got it
I chuckled though
the bigot in me
sometimes I'm the only one who thinks I'm funny
'cept your hubby
ain't he an irish catholic?
..and a black one at that

the kids go back to school here, tomorrow
spring break is the first week of april
that should go over well
they're doing that stupid testing down here
see if a kid can multiply after chewing the head off of a chocolate rabbit
I just can't wait to find out the statistics
apparently politicians have never been parents..

happy easter, darlin :hug

Morning all,

Happy belated Easter!! Dog, I think you should put the boat in the salt and take those younglings fishing!!! LOL

Well the first 3 days of Spring
And it snowed everyday
I got fishing fever
And it isn’t going to work this way

So today we have some warmth
It’s 40 degrees outside
But the rain is on the way
It’s a fricken rollercoaster ride

We got people fallen through the ice
How much dumber do ya gotta be
To view the puddles on the top
And know the future you’ll see

So here I sit and whistle
Washing the salt off my car
Vacuuming the sanded floors
That was dragged in off the tar

Wiping the finger prints off the windows
And the candy wrapper off the seat
Thinking of new things to do
While I wait for the heat……

Afternoon all,

Aprils Fools Day

Yeah, Minnesota got the joke
7 inches of that while Sh*t
Very funny Mother Nature
It’s enough to pitch a fit

Car doors iced shut
Took a screwdriver to get in
With heavy snow on top
Took me two hours to win

Finally got it started
As the temps are rising
And as I watch it melt away
The weather here is always surprising

By Thursday,
It’ll all be gone
Back up to the 50’s
Life goes on…….

Morning all,

So I thought
I’d have more time
To write this year
To sit and rhyme

But as you see
I was wrong
My mind is shorter
My weeks are long

Been recovering
Kitchen & living room chairs
One of those projects
No patience bares

After the first hour
I didn’t comprehend
What I was thinking??
When I started to mend

But now I’m done
So no more tricks
My fingers are blistered
With countless pricks

But it all appears great
And it’s a refreshing look
Yet, I’ll never forget
How long it took…….

lol..should have been here when I took all the lids off that bassboat and tried
to cut all the corners so the carpet looked factory.

had to glue everything down.
wrapped around
then inside too
upon attempting the first one I knew I was screwed
I should have just dyed the special marine carpet
it's thinner so it's easy to work with
my ass
I was thinking of using the boat to pot plants
it took for fricking ever
but by the ninth one I got clever
because to start with I had no patterns
once you jerked the old stuff off it fell apart
stencil the lid on the expensive carpet with a marker
guess and say fvck it!
I had just as good of luck
then I went to the auction and blew 1500 on the boat
just glad to not have to look at it anymore
fvcking eyesore

lol you remember when I did those lids for two months

The Valley of Love

Yes I have lain in the valleys of love
Tasted the sweetness of the fruits there of
Taken comfort in the soft creamy cape
Of skin as soft as that of floating crepe
I have slowly sipped from the cup of wine
As minds mingle and twisting bodies entwine
Both wept and sung with joy beneath the willow
Nestled in the warmth of breasts sweet pillow
I have Known love vanish into the swirling mist
The bitter loss of those tender lips I kissed
I have felt the utter wretchedness inside of me
When that sweet love, life, past into eternity
Yes I have sunken into the swamps of despair
And wrestled with my tormented soul while there
And I have felt the ravishes of being torn apart
I have felt the ice chill the very fire in my heart
Lay weeping beneath the wings of an angel
This cruel hurt and pain to numb and dispel
Only time… lost in this forest’s leafy haze
Will guide me now through this endless maze
And as I rise once more, ascend the mountain peak
Solitary, searching, I know not what it is that I seek
Opening my heart for life to enter and awake me
From this dark shadowy sleep and set me free
And I find love yet once more filling my soul
Yes I have found a new love to make me whole

Serendipity, Loved that write!!!!!
Hope all is well ya'll, It's a spirit quest day here today!!!!!

Finally we’ll hit 70
With patches of snow melting away
The water’s are flowing again
While the Zephyr whispers today

Leaves are beginning to bud out
The eagles circling over the streams
Diving straight down for fish
Breaking the through the glass like gleams

Red tail hawks are screeching for mates
The tulips are breaking the ground
The robbins are already plumped
Finally spring is in sound

Hiya all,

Breathe in that warm breeze
Smell the pines in the air
Feel the sun on your lips
And the wind through your hair

Sit back with your feet up
Quenching thirst with that cold beer
Close your eyes and let your soul free
And embrace all the wonders you hear

Serendipity, Loved that write!!!!!

Thank you Mari_Sam I have enjoyed reading many of the writes in this forum and indeed was inspired to contribute

A Lazy Monday Afternoon

I close my eyes beneath the heat of the sun
Letting the warmth of its glow gently lull me
Feeling the touch of the breeze whisper across my body
Letting my mind empty of all needless thoughts
The only sound, that of far of rustling trees
And that of the birds song calling to their mates
Of the bee in search of pollen to present to his queen
Letting the peace drift all around me, and over me
Floating on a white cloud of peace and calm
Then memories flooded my mind of another Monday
Lying lazily in the sun beside a placid lake
With my lover by my side, gently caressing my body
Loving with open eyes and minds, sharing kisses
Filling my heart with sweet memories to carry always

Morning all,

Dog, Yes indeed I was out and about in the woods!!! LOL

Ser, Love the write!!! Could feel it!!!!

Hope all is well with everyone, Things here are quiet today. My sisters cancer has now spread to her back too. She has started the radiation for that now, and yes the breast surgery has been postponed again. Good news is that the 12 tumors in her brain have shrunk 20% so far.

Storm clouds linger overhead
As a emerald hue drapes the land
New life is beginning to unfurl
Yet, bittersweet, I understand……

Afternoon all,

Well I updated some new Photos I took at the Zoo Here. Yanno, We got snowed on last night, lol So I have to go to the Conservatory to get the flower shots right now. Global warming my A$$!!!!

Sun is out
But its deceiving
A cold chill
I’m receiving

But who cares
As long as it comes
And warmth rises
In the ending sums

Gotta run
But I’ll be back
Sometime this week
On old keys to hack…..

Hugs all

Good morning all,

Spring is back

Life again feels fresh once more
Leaves opening as I write
The Zephyr breathes oh so softly
Enhancing the eagles flight

Lilly shoots breaking through
A painted canvas of green
Almost a royal jade tone
To most, completely unseen

Within the company of the prodigious Oaks
Is a Willow tree flowing in the breeze
Cascading like a natural spring waterfall
A burst of golden glowing leaves

And finally the warmth of the sun
Kissing my face today
Temps close to 70
Spiritual in every way………

And the forest floor
rose to greet me,
as I stumbled on a limb,
thankfully no ones looking,
I'll just blame it all on Him!

The crystal sun was dancing,
as I trod the trails of spring,
lovin every moment still,
of wonders seasons bring.

Hiya Mari...long time since I visited here....still lovin the writes.

Good Morning all,

Mandrake, Couldn't have said it better!!!

Fishing opener today
Yet rain gets in the way
So a house full of young
With a song never sung

Movies and board games
And calling each other names
We will survive
And the fish stay alive
