Born and bathed in golden hews
It was rocked gently in the arms of a dark, autumn yellow
Its first words were whispered
As it floated in pools of orange yolks
And hummed its first lullaby
As it cascaded down brilliant streaks of fire flames

Landing softly onto the taffeta petals of a pale rose
It was cradled lovingly and began to feel comfort
And confidence through the pink
Into the joyful melody of fucia

The fucia swirled and spread
And taught it to dance to the sound of a rusty saxophone
Finally, it took rest from dancing and was aroused by a red fog
That had slowly come to slip over the fucia

It was rocked, touched, licked and loved by ruby
Clenched and released by the sweet smelling and sticky fog
It was left shivering in a bed of tears and sweat
Awaiting the thick cover of purple haze
It curled up in a ball and felt satisfaction and closeness for the first time

It was enveloped in purple velvet
Protected and warm
Where it learned relaxation and a sense of being
Eventually it grew cold, as the purple could no longer keep it warm

Then the blues descended with their spicy, sweet aroma
And the tunes of a broken heart
The blues descended so quickly that it had no time to feel the transition
From the lilacs to the midnight azuls

And so it lay,
Lonely by the blues and their spice
And their sweets with a hint of rum on the breath of a song
That sung a tune to the beat of its falling tears and wounded heart
And it along with the blues and the booze
Were suffocated by the profound silence of blackness

And so,
It came,
Grew
Lived,
Loved,
Danced,
Sorrowed
Sang,
And vanished
With the setting of the sun.

Wonder Why.....

He sees through eyes not like mine
Childlike innocence tender and kind
He laughs at things no one will know
People think his mind is slow
Although is mind is moving fast
An accident has mind aghast
Stealing the life he once knew

I now wonder how he sees the world

The light shines into this empty room
Glistening the air of this gentle tomb
Sparkles of dust suspended in time
The quiet of this room superbly sublime

The light dances in your graceful eyes
Covering the moment creating disguise
Bringing your fears into the darkened night
Traveling faster than the speed of light

You’re left paralyzed, eyes heavy as rock
Left in your mind for you to unlock
Your future spinning out of control
Burning in time deep into your soul

Longing to end the animation’s suspend
You wish for the wind to come and defend
The sparkles of dust suspended in space
Locked in this tomb holding their grace

But the light shines into this empty room

With every crease a new simple complexity
Back into the comfort of memories lovers

The curse of memories carried through time
Stored in my memory as if to align
All of the past and the present day
Of all the things that have gone astray
Memories stronger than the best of times
All the bad things as if they are crimes
I want to remember the things that are good
But the beautiful things are drifting like wood
Lost in the ocean deep in our psyche
Cast away far and ever so slightly
I guess it’s the worst that are pinned to the wall
Up in the front, much closer to call
Due to the embarrassment cause by the pain
They are pushed to the front where they will remain
Stronger than the good that should beat out the bad
They are pushed ever so forward making us sad
I try to remember what things make a smile
But each day it becomes harder taking awhile
But when I find the beauty and take it past
It smiles long in my memory and all the pain is surpassed

one giant leap for mankind
and the Berlin wall was torn down
watching musicians raise millions for famine
and when the towers burned
and the tsunami struck
knowing millions were
crying with me

From my safety spot on my couch
I perch and listen to news booming loud
All the mothers, and fathers and children lost
When will these wars cease and at what cost?
The land has been raped and her rivers bleed poison
Her children are born into cancerous prisons
Her fish in her oceans deformed and mutated
How are we so connected yet jaded?
The evening news comes to a close
My heart tormeted and oozing prose
Yet, I throw away my plastics and leave the faucet turned on
Use hot water to wash the dishes and leave the lights on when I'm gone
I pray for change
And act the same
Eat food sprayed with pesticides produced by petroleum and shipped across seas
Adding to the carbon count and preaching peace
How does this happen...

Casting eyes forward trying to perceive
A glimpse of the future, a past to grieve
Hoping the future is better than that of the last
Or must we remain in the torment of a terrible past
The world is crumbling beneath our feet
There is contention of times and nothing’s complete
The world is at war and lives have been lost
Powerful men think they are right but the messages crossed
Each has a theory…beliefs of their own
But there are still markings on each tombstone
Like the past, it looks like the future remains
There will always be soldiers searching terrains
Chasing the men that have their beliefs
Books will fill with the history of these many motifs
Motifs of the powerful who think they are gods
Standing on the settlement of their unspeakable frauds
