and a swing in the hammock, a nesting in trees
and to float on the deck, bow tossed in blue seas
and perhaps a soak in a tub might be right
or steaming away in the sauna tonight
or what's best, you and i watching stars in the sky
while we live out these moments arrested in life | |

but memory is knowledge and the college for your dreams
and strained through a filter of love and grace is the aim of those with the means
to construct and condition and create with ambition the mission to the stars

If we live in the past and regret our digressions we have no future to desire.
Let us forgive ourselves and reach for the stars and set our souls on fire.
We’re here on this earth to make a difference, not matter how big or how small.
Just know when I’m gone, though seemingly little, I tried and I gave it my all.
I could lament that my efforts, as one, went unheralded as a stand for my beliefs.
If my words were to echo in the ears of the young, it would be of immeasurable relief. | |
