yellow moon

tonight there hangs
a yellow moon
swollen low
in a clear night sky
luring pagan
ripened strangeness
mute witness
with a gelid eye
revealing things
to horrify

In another room, in another house,
on another street, on another continent
a man stares out the window
facing north,

a woman puts down her book
and reaches for a cigarette,
her third in the last hour.

A child wakes up
and realizes that the dark
has an odour all its own.
In another room, in another house,
on another street, on another continent...

buzz

one never really knows
when the end will come
worn down by life
and numb
sweet remembrances
struck dumb
leap from
your well worn rut
do not succumb
when you are but
a sift, a healthy shift
away from plumb
place your feet
upon the earth
and come alive
join the hum
of the thriving hive

the way to hump a cow is not

the way to hump a cow is not
to get yourself a stool
but draw a line around the spot
and call it beautifool

to multiply because and why
dividing thens by nows
and adding and(i understand)
is hows to hump a cows

the way to hump a cow is not
to elevate your tool...............................(oh, my....)
but drop a penny in the slot
and bellow like a bool

to lay a wreath from ancient greath
on insulated brows
(while tossing boms at uncle toms
is hows to hump a cows

the way to hump a cow is not
to push and then to pull
but practicing the art of swot
to preach the golden rull

to vote for me(all decent mem

which if they don't to hell with them)
is hows to hump a cows

internal bleeding

move on without a sound
you've taken what you want from me
I'll see your face around
and you'll see what you want to see

I'll never let you know
how very much you meant to me
I'll show a smile and so
give back the heart you lent to me

and chalk it up to life
and lock that door and hide the key
and someday when it's safe
remember who we tried to be

Guess what Brizo - I am going to be a momma of the bride next halloween!! My oldest baby is getting hitched. And if I am really lucky down the road maybe a grandbaby.

Weddings and rings
and midnight calls about
nothing at all
it`s happening
while I stand in one spot wondering
where my place is in all of this.

That little tiny face;
called a Blessing!
With tiny hands and tiny feet;
that thing that makes a Soul complete!
You will totally embrace it!

A lovely Soul thats all Brand New!:)

Autumn, first comes love, then comes marriage, ....etc, etc...

J, thank you! You have a great day as well...

False Idol

Opie has a beef
about the weather
he doesn't understand
it's an irrelevant endeavor

he looks at me
and plaintively meows
why can't I make the weather
pause
with my strange
flesh covered
opposable paws?

staring out the window gloomily
running to the door expectantly
pausing at the threshold
whiskers twitching
shakes his paw disdainfully
for it's still raining

Aren't I the God
of mammals?
Do I not know
when Polly's on the table
and Opie is about to swat the plant?
Does my loud "NO"
define what shall, and shan't?

I make the food
to magically appear
under the metal of the can
the litter box was scat filled
and now it's pine again

And I am tempted
by his faith
to shout into the sky
even on Sunday
day of rest
but I won't even try

I am only a mere household god
and he cannot know why...

Yup, I did this year....with Heather recuperating as she was. I did try (not subtly, either) to "give" this holiday to someone else. With the little trailer, and the weather in November so the kids can't go outside, it's very crowded.

I do better with the outdoor holidays...the fourth, Easter, Halloween....

^^^probably because I was a crab...

the cuckoo

you sidestepping
group of crows
with crafty glances

cluck together
smooth
faux ruffled feathers

fasten
competitive eyes
on the shiny prize
talons poised to strike
at anyone's endeavors

how lonely
you must be
nestled
in your smug belief
that you are better

God, the comma

God, if you think of it,
may be no more than a comma
in a long, convoluted statement
of the meaning of everything.

Or not the meaning, but the thing itself,
from which meaning
can neither be detached nor derived.

The comma separates
the principal from the subordinate clause,
that which was from that which will be.

It is the Sabbath of the sentence,
the pause between birth and breath.

^^^^^^I should probably use it more, lol....

well, here's my Christmas wish...

another day

I have only words
to mark my name
I have only words
to make you think
I might never wince
from the brightness
of my fame
but I would be content
to make you blink

and let it sink inside you
while you try to turn away
but all I seem to throw
out there
is another worn cliche
my throat is filled
to bursting
with things I want to say
but can't seem to articulate

ideas that just percolate
but never make a brew
they swirl inside my mind
but seldom make it through
to you, to you....
the human condition
crucified within our halls
victimhood and cruelty
witnessed by us all

while we stand behind our wall
I want to break the apathy
I want to make you care
I want to scream that safety
is a lie that we all share
to protect us from the randomness
the fickleness of fate
to prevent the empty feeling
that we're bait, we're bait

as we're hurled in a collision course
toward a future date
we duck around destruction
and hope that nothing waits
and we never own our power
while we wail upon our knees
and plead and cower
and hope our needs are met
by those in power

stand up for those beside you
and you stand up for yourself
there really are no differences
from self, to self, to self
is who we love significant
or that we love at all?
how could color be a factor
in a multicultured sprawl?
earth made us all

and our mother is a beauty
but we never watch her flower
we're chasing our security
and losing by the hour
our divinity and grace
is replaced by something sour
beaming smile upon our face
with selfish glower

love your neighbor, love your neighbor
love your neighbor as yourself
let random acts of kindness
overtake the world by stealth
when your basic needs are met
look around and share the wealth
pay it forward till it's backward
neutralize your fear and use it
catalyze your soul to health

That was a wonderful Christmas wish and expression of what is happening all around us. Yes love your neighbour. Show kindness and not contempt. I will always believe in hope - always!

EVERYTHING about this is magnificently humane and even after the power of the first lines, it picks up such additional, irresistible force with:
