I think overall this is a good idea but it needs fleshing out. At the moment there are no personality traits to go with the fish you have listed. I think it needs a little more work befor it will have any use except fun.
Also I probably have been all of the above at one time or another

ok I chose one.. but we should have our own option to type in what we like I think.. either that or way more choices.. I picked catfish.. because of my eyes and personality.. but I would have loved to pick Mermaid.. love that one the best..
but to no avail.. hmm..
ah well thanks big fish.. for always something new..

I agree with the quiz idea. Also, why is dolphin on there, dolphins aren't fishes.

Actually, now that i look closer, there's a lot of animals that aren't fishes. you should change the name of the site to plentyofseacreatures.com

I think it's cute but is there a place on here that lists what that personality means? Or are we just going by the name...?I think the intent is not to take it very serious, there is no personality mapping, have some fun with it if you can. If a dude sees Damselfish in a lady's profile name, he can e-mail her "hey lady damselfish I'm your knight in shining armor". Or if somebody picks some obscure strange name you can ask about it.
Personally I don't think it is a very informative descriptor of someone but what the hell have some fun with it. I've never thought of myself as a fish before, maybe I don't have any imagination.

This is dumb!
How is this a great conversation starter???
The Swordfish, uhhhh NO!

People take this too seriously. It's pretty pointless, it doesn't hold any baring on the matching process, and It's in a wierd place on the profiles. I can't hate to much though, I kinda like being "Jerrid The Barracuda."

I'd just like to make a suggestion for "Rainbow Trout" to be added to the list. Though, preferably, it would be added under its scientific name "Oncorhynchus Mykiss". What would be cool is an option to enter your own fish time. IE have a "custom" or "other" option and be able to enter your own fish type into a text box. Yes I know people will put all sorts of nasty things in there (I think I noticed "trouser trout" on one thread about this topic) but they'd do that anyway. Just a thought, altogether I like it (and might waste a bit of time developing a coordination with your Jungian typology test to offer).

Uh oh, can't remove it? Sounds like my T Mobile My Faves, I can't remove this guy I can't stand! I'll save My Faves for my relatives. But this new feature, thanks for the warning. I will give much thought before adding anything.

No Barbee, it's a really cute feature that's been here awhile and can be changed at whim . . . when you want the setting back to "no fish" or blank choose "no personality"
leaving your title blank again.

It's all a cute choice option under your zip code in edit your profile mode. Been an option for some time . . . a newbie must have revived a "dead" or old thread.

ok so ... is there an actual test to find out what my fish personality is or do i just pick it? ... and if so how the hell would i know what fish i am? haha
