Mandrake's House by the FirePage 67 of 106    (66, 67, 68, 69, 70, 71, 72, 73, 74, 75, 76, 77, 78, 79, 80, 81, 82, 83, 84, 85, 86, 87, 88, 89, 90, 91, 92, 93, 94, 95, 96, 97, 98, 99, 100, 101, 102, 103, 104, 105, 106)
A note on the breeze
lingered a bit longer
entering ears
of a sleepy wanderer
Himself in a dream
caught deep within
outside of himself
no longer exist
Still is the night;
offshoot of the day
found where he sat;
then, children played
Laughter has gone now
to all each a home
leaving him silent
but not a lone
Music befriended...
a gift from the living
and lulled him into
forever, beginning

Thank you dear friend, for your beautiful blessing, but, um, if we're single mums,
then who's to make breakfast for us? ahhh.....of course...the children!!

May everyone's day bring happiness....mums, dads, daughters, sons, and also all single ones!

Good day all:

Mr Mandrake, if I may, I would like to post this poem here. Often, in analogy, my poetic attempts are meant to describe emotions felt: for life, the journey, passing swiftly, and the beauty of free expression, womanhood free being the locomotive.

In that vein, then, is an appreciation for Motherhood: even a locomotive needs a soft place to fall.

‘100 miles an hour’

Speeding, at 100 miles per hour
No time, passing, scented flower
Laboured, fired, ravenous lust
Consumed, labour, that in trust

Flowers blown in the breeze
Passing, fragrant, false wind tease
Coal consumed, insatiable thirst
Always, evermore, is that first

Shoveling, focused, muscle taut
Speeding, mainline, ideals thought
Industry, politics, ‘Keep ‘er hot son!’
Breathless, labour, tired, battle unwon

Speeding, drawn pause of fresh air
Observed at throttle, cold, icy stare
Shuddered fright, within the soul
Axises shifting, on the very pole!

Train of length, dutifully follow
Speeding, swiftly, bell rung hollow
Stopped, though speeding, I lean on shovel
Out left side, cab seen, signal bright yellow

Glances back, at one to throttle
Cold, icy stare, emotion bottle
Full throttle, steaming, in command
Wreck inevitable, lest one makes a stand

“Keep ‘er hot, son! Fuel that fire!”
Exclaimed manic, controlling, squire
Shovel laid gentle, on Her floor
Brake grasped, gentle, calm, nevermore.

Speeding, slowing, gentle eased
Loving, cared for, nurtured pleased
Speeding, proud, more than ten feet tall
Even a locomotive needs a soft place to fall.

Perhaps we should all just let 'Mom' rest a while at the roundhouse, and nurture her every need....should we not?

Kindest regards sincere,

Here is to the child
missing the connection
the woman who smelled
their existence, women smell
know their children within hours.

and here is to the child
who feels the miles between her face
her smile, her acceptance. she died
the moment the child took a breath.

Here is to the child who struggles
through the depths of life, never knowing
the blessing of a mother who birthed the child.
Mothers are plentiful...mothers who are mothers
quite frequently do not forward....
the loving motion of life.

My flesh holds the decadence
of your pen,
writing your lust on my skin,
each blister of ink,
each word,
sending my senses reeling,
the nib soft, hot trails
running the nerve center
of love to the core of my being,
I closed my eyes
to the sensation of your touch,
falling powerless, helpless
to stop the flood,
your spell locks me in to the finale,
my flesh a love letter

today it was a cool wet english day....
for me a working day, not play,
so welcoming to come home
and find warmth among friends
for writing here has become
something on which I depend
to allow me space to reflect and spend
time with the river of words we share
often in calm waters that show we care
and it doesn't matter I live here
and all of you 'over there'
for when we read and hear each other
our thoughts and feelings bypass space
truly connecting us in this place....

Thank you gals^^^^ touching sentiments for sure.

Loves first breath in break of morn,
gentle hearts with faith reborn,
painting skies of rolling blue,
passion filled, a time for two.

Caressing eyes bring thunders roar,
Burning, yearning, wanting more,
heartbeats race with loves first kiss,
break of morn in splendors bliss.

It's good to be back...kind of... I'm only here on a dating site to get OFF of it! Maybe I'll find that one and only that can commit.
Tried to write you a private note, but a message came up that you are not accepting messages from my age and gender! Hell, I don't blame you with all the gorgeous woman you are surrounded with here! (wink) lol
So if ya wanna stay in touch in private from time to time, you would have to message me first. I don't have any blocks on my mail except the drug use thing.
Now be quiet about that damn red tie will ya?

red ties at night,

Hmmm? Let me see

Red ties up in the morn
lover takes control, that's the norm
red ties me at night
lover knows I can't take flight

See your tie was put to good use! a little wrinkled and warn, but you can have it back. She untied me for the last time. lol

red ties on girls
could go with red curls
but best left on men
if one's into s and m...
forget the bed
and use the floor!

please note.....
i'm blaming you two
and your last few posts
for this subject alteration
chosen for my poem :)

Yeah right!! ^^^^^

she wears a halo
tarnished slight,
gotta watch,
she likes to bite!

Beyond the prim
and proper Brit,
beyond her sly
and cunning wit...

there lies a devil
in disguise,
her secrets just
beyond her eyes!

oh a friend is a friend indeed
who knows when to joke
and when to take things
quite literally.... :)

no, seriously, dear friend,
i must admit your words
brought a rather large grin
and a chuckle of joy.....

thinking once upon a time
there was a teenage girl and boy
living separetely and too young to know of ties or toys
but under parents' watchful eyes so had to think of other ploys....

thus the dried leaves in the woods
became their makeshift bed
but were so sharp, once was enough for them to know
never again in the woods would they go!

there's a halo hanging
somewhere around here?
still haven't figured out
what it's for

if eyes are windows to the soul
his are purely full of passion
secrets whispered in the night
better keep the there is no fright ;)

I don't think I'll try my hand at writing poetry anymore. I can clearly see I am among very talented people. Ones that make me smile, warms my heart, brings back memories and yes, creates even food for thought.

Very good WeAre1

But let me add this motto that I like.....Freedom is not being released from chains that bind, but rather being tightly bound by them.

It's the chains called love we seek to find.

Seazadream, Rose...many thanks for your visits here at the fireside.

By the Widows Walk,
the willows talk
in whispers soft and low,
the stories told
will soon unfold,
the truth
of Widows Walk.

By Widows Walk,
the gravestones talk,
all men here laid to rest,
the arsenic tales
to kill all the males
who lived
on Widows Walk.

Thou hast found lost hearts broken,
severed in trespass of vows once spoken,
minds like gardens flourishing green,
lay in wait of what had been.

By tender love of nurtured heart,
thou hast mended each in part,
where spirit embers silent cries,
rekindled flames hath given rise.

Thank you Sunshine. Loved the walking stick story.

Love's Music

I dreamed thou had brought me
the finest music,
befitting the deepest love
that mine heart has cast,
filled to overflow,
like windstorms in the most
majestic of sails,
billowed in thine image,
tis mine eyes that see,
mine heart that beats,
mine hands that hold,
and mine soul that sings
with each thought,
each vision of thee,
thus not to wander far from shore,
that I might spend this eve,
this day, in sun as in moon,
blessed by the Gods
for such love,
that cometh rare
and fleeting,
tis our moment
to live, to love
the music of each other.
