Seazadream....powerful write! Love the way you frame your feelings.

The mime in the glass,
mimicking in silence,
looking back like a late night
horror show,
post mortem reflections
that vanish,
a tarnished epitaph
for an oblong box,
as the unheard screams
of obscurity,
ride the chariots of darkness,
the mirror fades,

Haven't stopped by in some time. So many good words shared here.
These tears I give.......
I give to those who feel.
These tears I give..
I give to all who have lost.
These tears I give..
I give freely
With nothing asked in return
These tears I give come from
all before me.
They are to be cherished..... and shared.
For tears are tiny gifts
from the soul.
They quench a desire
and fill a need.
They spill forth that which
cannot be said aloud.
But are buried deep inside us all
They are tears of joy
and tears of loss.
They bring comfort to each
in their own way.
They fill a room with one small start
and touch each heart.
They are tears for all to share
Please do not abuse them
or misuse them.
To those you love or have never met.
For once shared
eternity they will last.
To bring comfort to each and every one of us
For now.

who is that man in the suit up there?
what's the occasion, dear friend?
is it a friend's wedding, or perhaps the end of a life
or maybe you've decided again to take a wife....
could it be a promotion at work
that pays enough to buy a suit, tie and shirt?
for something new has entered your aura
that's a very sharp look indeed..
i it the graduation of your daughter?
or perhaps the birth of a new grandbaby!
whatever the reason, my vote is you look great
in your jacket of tweed so new
so please keep this pic for us to view
and you never know...
perhaps you'll gain a new fan or two
or at least we all can see
you clean up real well, manny!!

um...wait a second...does that tie look red? :)

Beautiful poems left by Manny's fire as always, his door is always so open to his friends.
Thank you Manny.

Restless Angel

Darkness clings, left by a thousand lies
roiling itself to frenzied death
with wanton abandon on a razor's edge.

A rabble of lost thoughts, gathers around
the flickering light of ten thousand stars
trying to vie with a bored crescent moon...
yawning, her apathy is palpable.

In the grand scheme of things, I am so small,
jagged mountains stand stoically in my path~
and sly, I plan assaults on their summits.

I had the idea, if I could entertain a moment
where doubtful decisions fall to the past,
hide in the moribund dust of yesterday;
there I might gather moments of despair,
fling them over the mountain's precipice.

Burdened belief would find itself cast away,
lost in the past, after its comfortable ride
on my weary, carry-the-world shoulders.

Perhaps there is a grave, some royal tomb,
moldering hushed, peace-perfect silence.
Welcome such things, enfold their wily souls!

I'll not look back with misplaced sympathy,
once I return to the precipice edge and
cast my cleaner fate to my nascent future.

Release soaring hope, restless angel,
you are not alone. Raise your nature...
observe hummingbirds and bees teaching us flight.

Ugh... the cure only intensifies the sickness
And I crave the satisfaction
like a foaming horse thirsts for water.
I am unafraid and petrified
Cannot force free
the barriers I've rectified
To enjoy the sensations
Lustful sorrow brings
Inhale the frustrations
Of knowing not one fruitful thing
Can come of such silence
Therefore I scream it aloud
Inside my mind
No one can judge
NO ONE can find
The sinful secret I hide within
I tuck it away
It is my dearest friend
And like the cigarette smoke
The memory fades away
Until once again I choose
to revive it and play
But nevermore
will the smoke seep from my lungs
And to his steady beat
I will never be asked to drum.

Oh Manly....look at you, so hansom!

Back home...
but feeling like I just left it
Those Tennessee mountains...
they call for me ~
them, and the family
I was in the magic...
I was there in it!
Maybe one day,
I will return...
not to visit, but to go home

I had a blast! It's good to be back. WoW! nice writes left here!!!!

welcome back bks and to the other incredible poems indeed!

written and evolving this past week.......

she was falling
having gone within
all she had been fighting
and keeping hidden
not realizing
he could see her agony
that'd been with her
keeping her company
creating disharmony
and quite alarmingly

pushing her deeper
and deeper under
where she was
barely able to breathe
tossing her until
she had lost
her bearings
fallen yet hanging in

and all along
she was aging
like fine wine
the sediment
gathering deep down
somehow the illusion being
it was balancing her
and keeping her from taking off
for she was a winged creature
whenever she could free the weight
that was so heavy

then a chance
for transformation
he offered to help
release all she had been carrying
but the burden
had become her friend
and she was not ready
they parted company

she remembered
it might be now or never
a chance to really discover
and uncover her
from the ogre
that had been following her
keeping her company
all along seeming to be
part of her destiny

so here she was
her knees buckling
her heart opening
her suffering melting
and in that moment
she let go
with nothing to hold onto

and he was there
in a voice warm and clear
he assured her
'i've got you'
just as the wind
had carried him in
his wings opened
and he flew
away again

while she also took flight
in her own direction
lifted on strands of light
that had briefly
left her vision
now as she flew
with new insight
riding the tide
of the ocean

your hand,
your touch,
yet distance
allows only
the dream....

and I dream of thee
my love,
hold only the vision
of our touch,
till moon of full
crests once more,

tis thy voice
I hear
on the wind,
your whisper
thru the trees,
your breath
on a breeze,
caresses my cheek,

you are the beauty
of sunsets,
I am with you
in dreams.

So he followed her
Like the night stalks the day
He waited in the distance
Allowed her to make her way

And all the while
She wished for love
And all the while
He stood above

Never admitting
Forever regretting
Earth tossed high
Conquered the fight
That kept them from life
And conquered the night

It's been awhile, Mandrake.
Such a pleasure to stop by and steep long in the warmth of words left here for you and shared with others.
How could I not be lured in to bounce my usual themes of sunsets and fluttering veils off the lovely image you painted?
A simple offering in comparison to the depths you've attracted into your House by the Fire.

beauty of sunsets
distant dancer
silk trembling
quickly, lightly
charming evening's breath

beauty of sunrise
freshly scrubbed
quiet soul
flickering flame
wafting aura
penetrating life's path

Lightening bugs

In the trees
lit up lights
of night

and eyes
tracing flight

Caught up
in hands
so small

the crawl
that blinks

Thank you for the welcome home :)

Dogs...they're fine
travel with your dog?
keep this in mind....
Never pick up the date
you planned for, for weeks
with a year of dog hairs,
on the seats!

....and I wore black capris!

Who will get post 2000? Can't wait to see...!

Entry for February 13, 2009
Death doesn't bother me like it did once before.
I've learned to block it out and live in complete denial
Of the things that haunt my heart.

Doesn't matter if it's real close or faraway
Death doesn't bother me like it did yesterday

I don't ever break down in fear of my son
Ending up like my daughter
tubes down her throat
cold and lifeless... the monitor went blank

Then it jiggled, when I moved her
and for one second I had some hope
That surely God did not take my angel away.

Now I see this little boy, same sweet eyes, curly hair.
He's being too quiet... do I check? No I wouldn't dare.

Because I'm afraid of finding what I did once before.
I just block it out and live in complete denial
of the things that haunt my heart.

Because you see, as I told you
Death doesn't bother me anymore.

Heart strings tug and pull
tightening; shoring up
what was left, then ahead...
The heart and the mind
untangle strings, entwined
Destiny; dreams occupied
Where the heart pulls
the body can follow
in a natural walk of change,
opened to growth,
after some sober pruning
of a willing soul

Wanna be...

A speck, among specks
nearly alone, sitting
knees drawn up
arms hugging them
hands clasped...
A windy breeze
the caw of gulls
the crashing waves
the smell of sea
Lulled into the music
of the beach
rockin' it

(How could I yearn for still another vacation!) lol

sweet soft sun, sprezzatura
etches lines in my timeless face
between those veins i nursed my babes
in each crease yet I hold them there

beneath the shadows cast by folds
sweet soft sun, sprezzatura
browned golden the ivory paleness fair
highlighted each gift i bear

shoot that crow that left his feet (!)
for all I own and all my tears
sweet soft sun sprezzatura
warms the glow that hides my years

if lips were to touch, invade the space
between soft eyelid secret folds
would more they learn than 'tween others-
sweet soft sun , sprezzatura

Luria...thank you for that write, very enjoyable. And a huge welcome to the fireside. Make yourself at home here. Hope to see you visit often.

Starecase to the moon,
each step a mental block of stone,
set in place on a blind canvas,
invisible from the throne

of solitude.....

rusting bars corrode the eye,
falling structure now decayed,
social silence left for dead,
Final block has now been laid.

offering this to the fireside....inspired by the butterfly

divine intervention
a shapeshifting phenomenon
wondering is it just the caterpillar
who partakes of such wonder?
a miracle in the extreme
seeing things so close and personal
to transform into the most beautiful
flying machine
with grace like a queen
and colours out of an lsd scene
who's perspective is now on a cloud
as she flutters and flies with ego-less pride
makes me wonder
is it just the butterfly
who is changed so completely?
is it possible we all find there are times
we also wrap ourselves in coccoons
like when we are held safe in our mothers' wombs
finding release again
into our own miraculous transformation?
and is it possible throughout our lives
when the swarm gets too much
inside or outside our hives
like a prison cell in which we might hide
perhaps we find solace by a fire in a quiet room
or under the glow of the brightly lit moon
helping us move through whatever we need
to transform our energy
into one that is loving and free...
oh yes, along with all aspects of our humanity
I believe miraculous metamorphosis
is definitely part of our journey

Post number 2000!^^^^^

Let the bells ring
while banners fly
2000 posts
bring a tear to my eye.

Started this thread
on a whim and a half,
expecting nothing,
except maybe a laugh.

The fireside lives,
by the grace of you all!
with thanks from my heart,
your words line the wall!

My heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you that have contributed to the "fireside" over the last two plus years. I never thought this thread would "ever" last this long. It is each one of you that has made it what it is today.

I am blessed, and honored by your presence, and your gifts.

with love
