I haven't been in a new relationship since I was in my 20s, so I guess it is okay if I lie.

Definately not .. being deceitful is a sure way to lose someone's trust.. If you can lie about one thing, you can lie about other things ...

Chinua : I don't understand, I assume they are a success story on age difference or culture or something, can't say I follow the news of the celebs, don't watch much tv.

I had noticed you in my search of POF but can't send you a "howdy, I'd like to talk to you" because of the 75 mile limit. So if you would like to compare notes send me a "Howdy."

In my opinion that's one of the biggest mistakes people make here on POF. Of course we would all like to find our match within 75 miles but we shouldn't limit our search and prospective contacts so much. Finding the right one in life is too important to put hard limits like that into the equation. Again, just my opinion, but I'm rarely wrong (in my own mind at least, LOL).

Maybe everybody should think about their best friends that are married and figure out how many of them are married to somebody that was more than 75 miles away when they met, I bet there would be quite a few of them in that category. I know many of mine are, but I've belonged to and been a national officer of a couple national singles groups. They involved a lot of travelling so I have many friends more than 75 miles away too.

I find it almost funny that many that are posting here claim that age does not really matter......and yet most if not all have age as a requirement within their profile........

Age should not matter, but it does for most. I have been with more than one female who seemed interested in me and enjoyed my company until they found out my age....then it was an issue. If you are with somone that is 15 years younger or older, or more......should it really matter what your age is if you are having a good time together? How about 20 either way but you do not look it or act it? Where do we draw the line?

I bet most who claim that it does not matter, and that they look younger, would not feel that way if they were maybe 60, looked 40 and wanted to date a 35 year old that was interested in them. Then it would be an issue, I bet.....if you look younger and yet have that birthdate that makes you older or younger enough to be someones father, or they your mother.

How about a 45 year old wanting to date someone 25 or 30, and they looked maybe 35 or 40? Would it matter?.....should it????? If age really does not matter, then you should have it eliminated from your profile as a preference and just let nature take its course. I agree with a limit on being legal, for many reasons, but the rest is just not needed if you truly believe that age does not matter and thus you never have to adjust for it in any form......

Just my opinion......

Used to fib on the profile, but can't be bothered anymore. In "real life" people don't ask your age before they are attracted and by the time someone does ask, it is a moot point.

I always lie about my age. It's fun!

My favorite quote about a person's age is from a character named Chun from the movie 'Nemo Williams:' (which I hope to not mis-quote too badly)

"I am older than a head of lettuce; younger than a mountain... For a human, just right."

People do not share ALL on here many, if not most times, for many reasons. Most want to be seen in the best light possible, and if all the statistics are up there first, many will be excluded when not in a real life situation such as a club, activity or bar.

White lies have existed all along....good or bad, and for the most part, it is considered rude to ask a persons age when first meeting and getting to know each other. If you are interested enough to approach and want to know that person better, something must have happened to give you that desire, and it more than likely will be the looks and the way they carry themselves, and not the age, because that is not known yet.

I wish we would just enjoy each other more and not limit the chances of meeting with an age requirement when we already have so many others that exist already....

Just my opinion....
