I'm not sure I like tats on women. Maybe a small tat. But I don't get why some ladies want to distract us from their beautiful ass by having a depiction of the Mystery of Golgatha tattooed all over their back. If I want to see the Sistine Chapel, I'll go to Italy.

"It would never be anything big or something i know i'd regret in the future..."

Women in my sober home generally have tats from their drugging days. When they try to get work they have to do various things to hide the tats or lose whatever jobs they can get with them. Lots of money on skin colored tapes.

Size, placement and content ... would you have it show in your ballgown at 60 ?

Yeah, especially if we plan ahead... sneak them in where we are sure to have folds of skin in 30 years. That will make the discovery process more like an archaeological dig.

Yeah, great show... I like American Chopper too... but I wouldn't ride a theme bike any more than I would have a tat. Just because something is interesting doesn't mean it's necessarily art.

Speaking of art, I like some tattoo art (although some is laughably schlocky) - just not on me. I don't disagree that some tats can be sexy... Like I said earlier, a depiction of the mystery of Golgatha tattooed all over an otherwise beautiful back doesn't do anything for me... Sorry.

It seems like most women regret the tattoos later on in life.

Personally I dont like tattoos on women. Women are so beautiful naturally. I feel that tattoos take away from a womans natural beauty. But I would still date a woman with tattoos. A tattoo doesn't change the person. I have seen some really neat tattoos and I like those that have a story of meaning behind them. I prefer no tattoos, but at the end of the day it doesn't matter one way or the other.

Kinda like a blemish... only voluntary. I think I'd reserve judgment until I saw it, but like I said earlier, at some point, I think it detracts from a woman's appearance (agreeing with Chucky).

There's a lot of carbon in your finger. So all it takes is head, pressure and time.

OK - I can supply one of the three.

But really - a tattooed ring with a diamond embedded in your skin... Better make sure the guy saying "I do" is serious...

It's all a matter of preference I think. Personally I think tattoos on women are sexy as hell. I saw the pics on your profile "inkedmami9of9" and that sleeve looks incredible on you. The peacock you got on your ankle is also a beautiful piece.

I'm amazed that women don't have a problem with the permanence. I've never known a woman who can keep the living room furniture in the same place for a more than 6 months at a time.

(I like the peacock too... BTW)

Some of us are A-Typical women - we love the permanence of tattoos and we hate it when people move shit around on us so we can't find it.

Who are these people who move shit around so you can't find your tattoo?

I was in Virginia last week. Now THAT was a strange experience - not a tat or piercing to be seen anywhere. Kinda like falling into a time warp in the Twilight Zone.

(BTW - I'm tatless, myself)

Speaking as a Poodle in "bad" standing:

Tatted women who act offended by people who stare at their tats are being disingenuous at best. They are there billboarding the wearer's taste, politics and/or sexual proclivities. They should be prepared to be stared at. For better or worse.

No whining allowed.

I once purchased a tattoo in the privacy of my home at a charity auction, but by the time I had the font figured out and all, the gal who had offered the tattoo was separated from her tattoo artist hubcap.

Sigh.

It would have been a small, elegant upside down "lethologica" (I had to look that up *again*) on a hip, where I could use it for a quick reference if necessary...

I honestly dont see anything wrong with girls and tattos.... just as long as there not "man like" tattos.... i'm talking about small cute tattoos. Those are cute... I seen girls with these huge Tattoos... something a guy would have... now that too me is a turn off.. but a small little tattoo is ok.

Women who get tattoos should hope they never get in an intimate situation with a guy who's turned off by them. Of course, that group excludes most convicts, gang members, and drug addicts--who like tattoos so much they have them themselves. So, women with tattoos can still draw on most of the guys in those highly desirable groups.

Matchless, you left out Bikers, Rednecks, and a lot of military guys (Marines just love 'em!). Seems like the available population of tattooees for the ladies in question may be a tad larger than for the druggie ex-cons you referred to.

I'm in NYC, and it's difficult to find women in the age group I prefer to date (mid-20s to mid-30s) who don't have tattoos.

My 17 yo daughters best friend since very early childhood now has some stars on here shoulder and some other things on her ankle...I tried not to stare or think about it, but it was intriguing to me nonetheless...some overflow thoughts from a gal I met a while back from another site that has a very colorful star on one very fine breast, I guess.

When they are done right, they are very sexy to me, but I personally don't want one.

I've never seen a tattoo that looked better than what it was covering up.
