Transition
There's a pathway that I've heard of,
Between this world and the next.
A pathway that each will tread,
Leading to slumber in an eternal bed.

Am wondering if the pathway,
Is hilly, crooked or straight,
If there are flowers on each side,
Of the path along which each will glide.

Are there lights to show the way,
To those upon the journey.
Is there a guide to help us through,
Do we traverse beyond the sky so blue.

There are so many questions,
That for now remain unanswered.
Guess that all will be revealed,
As each ends life on this earthly field.

I seem to have overlooked this

^^^ Thanks for stopping by, Truth. I've been very negligent at keeping up with my own thread these days.... Too much lazing by the lake, and not enough writing....

* * * * *

It's All in the Perspective

Like busy ants,
they all scurry through
tiny winding passageways,
gathering this and that,
stopping occasionally
to greet each other,
smile, shake hands,
then rush off again,
pulling behind them
tiny wagons loaded to
overflowing with various
odds and ends that
they call Life....

... ... ...

...while Life watches
from the sidelines,
relaxed, in his Lazyboy,
remote control in his
outstretched hand,
flipping casually from
station to station,
hoping for something
a little less desperate,
a little less consuming,
a little more carefree
and spontaneous --
a comedy perhaps --
(his favourites being
Lucille Ball, Red Skelton,
or Carol Burnett) --
a Starbucks double shot
and a plate of cinnamon biscotti,
very thinly sliced,
on the table at his elbow.

.

and am sorry that I did, most especially for the deliciously casual last three lines!

We've been viewing & reviewing each other's stuff for a long time now! Remember where we first got acquainted? I do... You lived in TB then, you're back there briefly now - but all the things you've been through in between!

This

if only
you could welcome me
with arms wide and heart open
as happy as I am
to be found

the good strong heart of it but the whole of it is so strong that it overshadows the ending, which kind of raises but cannot answer the question: "But why can't you see him again?" the variety of answers to which leave us wondering which form of empathy is appropriate, e.g., whether he's dead or... indifferent to seeing you again.

I thought that

the dormancy
of origins.

was SO good, but that this

Solitude wraps me
in a worn woollen blanket,
cold and heavy at the edges.

was EVEN better, the image of those "cold... heavy... edges". Wow!

for all caring members here to send PMs to CdnReader (Donna) who has been admitted to hospital with some very worrisome conditions. She is alone, having just recently moved to Halifax, NS, to begin a PhD programme and won't see your messages until - hopefully - she's well enough to resume accessing the internet but I'm confident she'd be enormously cheered by any words of caring she receives from you.

Thanks, Jerry

Hey CDN!...get well soon...this isn't really poetic, just something I thought I'd drop off here...hope you get a chuckle or two!

Take care and Godbless!

I had this song,
stuck in my head,
all night long...

Raindrops keep fallin on my head!

over and over it played,
when suddenly a nudge,
and then a smack
woke me from the lyrics
and I heard a voice speak!

"that's not a song ya dimwit!!"
"The roof is leaking!
git yer a*s up and fix it!"

Whew! That was the second dream!
Thank G*d I'm a single

I hear the words....... sometimes
etched into the playful breeze
reflections in a raindrop
kalaidescoping.. bring release
sound of snowflakes drifting
the colours of pure white
music of the silence
offers me delight

God Heal You
Posted: 9/13/2008 11:05:13 PM
God heal you of your grief and pain,
Make you well and whole again.
May He be with you each step of the way,
See you through each moment of the day.

God give you strength and give you hope,
Give you the will to strive and cope.
Uphold you in His Love and Care,
Be with you everywhere.

May good health fully return to you,
May your world be filled with joy and butterflies too.
There's something special in His Creations,
Which He shares with people from all nations.

Dearest Donna,
Here is a community of poets
and just, well, plain ordinary folk
--the needy, the generous,
the witty, the tongue-tied,
some who have done honour
to the lives they inherited, some
who still hope to do so, and all
all
ALL
are wishing you well!

Donna, may you sense the safety net forming around you, woven by the word weavers, using twine from the vine of love... we look forward to your return.
