^^^ I see your 70 year old Nan (a mere whippersnapper) and I raise you my 95 year old Nana and her twin sister. Nana passed her annual test to retain her driving licence in May and likes to bet on horses at the TAB and ...(as some of you already know) ... still bakes scones pretty much every day, while her sister (who astonishingly has eaten no vegetables other than potato her whole life) has the whole bingo scene tied up. Nana recently dusted herself off from a knee joint problem, refusing to take her pain relief medication or use the walking frame, because it inhibited her too much when she wanted to get out and rake the yard or pull some weeds. There is certainly no dust on that woman.

There's a lot to be said for a good game of bingo

My parents are almost 70 but so lively and active I never see them as "old" (although I tease them plenty about it). My Mum and I go walking in the evenings (up hill and down dale) and they are always out in the garden planting vege gardens or putting in flower beds, also they have almost finished renovating their Queenslander. Champions!

Dusting yourself off definately gets harder with age, the arthritis sets in and it can be hard to reach the really dusty spots, then ya gotta be able to see your toes to tell if your boots are dusty, then you can get stuck in an awkward possie trying to reach that ......hang on .....nearly got it....spot

Don't dust yourself off maybe the answer!!

If you leave the dust, it gets caught in the cobwebs and makes really pretty patterns!!

I think it does get harder with age and it doesn't. Like anything, getting older and wiser in the love game has it's pros and cons.
I think as we get older we are more aware of who we are as a person and therefore we are less tolerant of bad behaviour within a relationship and tend to only go looking for 'Mr right' rather than 'Mr right now'. In saying that though, we also invest more into the right person and it makes it that much harder when trying to 'bounce back'.

Depends on the lead, HB is much harder than 6B, hey bucky? and the 8B is soft and smudges a little.

Bugger, it's getting hard enough to find even my pencil, let alone see if it smudges...

Thank-you to all that have contributed to this thread. I have gotten some great inspiration from all of you and have learned that even if we are having trouble "dusting" that we are never truly alone.

Sometimes life throws us several curve balls at once and it takes us a little longer to pick ourselves up? And Nahmaah... sometimes we do need to sit and explore where we are on our life journey. And ebgdae.... sometimes our tools do get blunt and it makes it hard to see the forest from the trees. lol

I have come to see in the past few weeks that, for me, this is a time when I have had to deal with many things I have either not had the opportunity, strength or time to deal with from my life so far. I like to think that this was the best time for me to deal with a lot of past, present and future things in my life? Perhaps it was the best time for me to have the knowledge and inner strength to REALLY take the time to look at where I have been, where I am and where I am going?

There is not an emoticon to express my thanks to all of you for your help and love.....

I think it depends how long you have been standing still for.......

Some people organise their junk piles by how much dust is collected on top........
a type of chronological dating

I believe it depends on the connection..if this is about relationships..
sometimes you are aware before the end of it and have already distanced yourself.....
other times it hurts like crazy.

Getting older I learn to gain confidence, to be more realistic, appreciative , to pay more attention to peoples personality, rather then to their look. And yes seagull Diversional therapy does help.
