These old threads seem to resurrect over time, don't they?

From my experience and observation of others, it seems that often but not ALWAYS by any stretch younger man-older woman relationships are short-lived sexual escapades, for both. However, as I've mentioned now & then in similar threads, in my family and friends circle, one woman has been married for 30+ yrs to a man 18 yrs younger, one for 20+ yrs to a man 16 yrs younger....and one for 7+ to a man 21 yrs OLDER.

I spent several yrs with a man 14 yrs younger than myself.....and I assure you it was a full-blown relationship that entailed everything a relationship does....at no point was I any kind of "Sugar Momma" (pfffts!!! As if that would ever happen!) nor was our relationship sex-only (though it WAS great...LoL!)

Sometimes people are simply in the same stage of life, albeit being of different ages, and ARE kindred spirits who share the same interests, and are right for one another....whatever the ages may be for the parties involved. That said, I think this is FAR more likely when we're talking people 40 and over than 20 y/os :)

Relationships with age gaps greater than 10 yrs are not for everyone. They ARE unconventional, they draw attention, and comments, and smirks at times. They're not for those with a thin skin, or who worry what others are thinking....

What I find VERY amusing is that almost inevitably, a woman associating with a younger man is told "he is after you only for sex, and he'll drop you soon enough" ....this may well be true, but the amusement comes from the implication that ...what? Just because a man is closer in age he is 100% NOT just as likely to be after her only for sex and won't drop her when something "better" comes along??? Good grief, these forums are full of such stories!!!!!

Who cares. Age is just a number. Only exception is when it looks ridiculous like Hef with his flavor of the month. He looks old enough to be their grandfather.

I prefer younger men to guys my age...........Why you ask.....their fresher and cutier. I am just not into the old man chest with the gray or white hair. A younger man has a sweeter and fresher look on life. And they do have a nice body to look at when they are walking around your house naked.

good shape, nails manicured, and also finacially well off. It lasted 8 yrs. and she was the best girlfriend I've ever had,We had very few disagreement and sex was great!

I usually date men 5 to 9 years younger and you'd never know there was an age gap! I'm a young early 30's (fit and look 24), not mention I'm young at heart. My current guy is 26 and he has similar life experiences to mine which makes us work well together. He also wants the same things as I do and the connection is amazing on all levels =)

i'm 60. don't mind my age at all. i'm happy. and i think thats what attracts the younger men to me. and theres alot of them here that PREFER older women. i have not met one young man that was dissappointed. age differences from 21-34 yrs. at first i was skeptical. thought it was kinda creepy. but they are so cute and sweet and real. good people to know. and as far as sex goes, an older woman/younger man have compatible libidos. p.s. i don't seduce them. they come to me. happily. or not at all :^)

I haven't really spent a lot of time with younger guys. I had the fling thing with 10 years my junior, but not an actual relationship. Are you guys talking flings, or long term relationships? I'm 45 now, and it seems that the guys older don't have the drive anymore, the guys my own age want a super young one to make them feel young again, and maybe the young ones would be more fun for me too. Maybe it's time I try on the cougar shoes and stop even trying for a long term relationship anymore. What do you think?

Lol, really?? I'm early 30's and date men mid-late 20's (inc current who's 26) and none ever had an issue. Granted 6 to 8 years isn't that much of a gap, but still. I think if you look much younger for your age like I do, are fit and connect better with younger men then go for it! My new guy and I want all the same things in the near future and he has his life together more so than some men my age or older.

Love the energy and stamina of younger men ;)

I would date someone maybe ten years younger to ten years older but I refuse to date a guy the same age as my sons and believe me I have been asked and I was flattered but no not going to happen. But hey if this is what you like go for it.

I have had experience with older and younger....I married older 3 x. The problem is the older they are the faster they "wear out". I was in a relationship with someone the same age and even he couldn't keep up. If I was just going for companionship and not a real marriage/relationship I would find a guy my age or older. If I want a sexual relationship I would go for a young guy. They at least can keep up with me. The downside to the young ones is they are usually immature and very possessive and don't understand the rules of a FWB or even a "fling". They think they own you. The problem with the older or same age is that they can't keep up, they have more baggage and yes, they are nice and mostly respectful but I don't need someone who has to take Viagra just to keep up with me. I guess I am not ideal for either category. :-( I also find that most men who contact me on here are either my age or older....

This question is best answered with a question. What is the starting age of the male and female when the relationship starts?

A 40 year old woman with a 20 year old man (boy) is probably a big mistake. But a 60 year old woman with a 45 or 50 year old man is probably not so odd. Both have reached maturity to some degree. And one doesn't have to always wonder what it would have been like to be the man's baby sitter!

I've always liked older women. Except for the first woman I fell in love with. My wife was 12 years older and the only relationship I've had since then was with a woman 9 years older. But those two relationships started later in life.

Surely, it all depends on the person, but I have been fortunate to have come to know what is possible with the right older woman, such that i will only date women a good bit older than me. I will find her, and it will be amazing.
