As a New Yorker, I hate to see any team from Boston win
But as far as the tooth-less Tigers is concerned
I am not at all sad that they lost.
They have always been a thorn in the Yankees side, beating them unexplainably
But then they always find a way to sputter out afterwards thus proving themselves UNworthy of Glory!
What a waste they are, Screw them! And may they never win a WS championship again!

Concerning the Redsox; I give them credit for their reprise
But keep in mind that the Yankees had an off-year, and didn't pose a threat!
The Yanx shall rise again, hey-ho!

I predict the Cards wining it in 6, let us hope!

Well the injuries caught up to my Tigers.
They still should have overcome with that starting pitching.
Jim Leyland was great for the Team but time for him to step aside.
Who will be next.

Sox and this hokey beard thing put in there place last night.
Go Cards!

IMO, since Middlebrooks was not lying in the baseline and Craig was not in the baseline when he tripped over Middlebrooks it should not have been declared obstruction. If Craig runs in the base path, he doesn't trip and fall over Middlebrooks.

You do realize that the basepath extends 3 feet either side of the direct line from home plate to 3rd base and for that reason Craig was in the basepath. Also Middlebrooks was clearly in the basepath remember 3 foot radius.

You need to read Rule 2.00 and 7.06 to understand why the umpire made the right call.
Once the ball passes third base, Middlebrooks is no longer considered in the act of fielding therefore any contact is considered interference.
Throw in the fact that he kicks his lower legs up just as Craig legally attempt to go over him and you have the double jeopardy.

The correct call was made according to the rules!

pete you have the internet just look it up.
Also why does Middlebrooks kick his legs up if not trying to interfere?
You are mistaken on all accounts. Youtube the play again because you have obviously not seen the replay is you think Craig was off the basepath.
Craig gets up directly beside 3rd base remember he slid into 3rd so not sure why you believe he is not on the basepath.
Even if Middlebrooks doesn't kick up his legs its still interference by the Rule 2.00 as there is contact without an attempt at fielding the ball. Doesn't matter what part of Middlebrooks body the contact impeded Craig therefore interference.

Great call!

Seems like a conspiracy to me as they let Boston win because of the Marathon bombing.

Whatever people say, Boston's turning point was the grand slam by Ortis

How Ortiz stayed below the Steroid radar is amazing in itself
The powers that be will make sure we'll never see all the names in the Mitchell report; just A-rod's!
But like Mcgwire and Bonds it will eventually come out in the wash one day

Enjoy your brief moment in the sun
because the Yanx will be back
and will take back what is rightfully ours, the AL east to start.

Ignorance is bliss!

But on to more important things.
Boston won, ho hum.

Who wins the hardware.

American Cy Young - Max Scherzer
MVP - Miggy Cabrera

Also where do Cano, Ellsbury and the other free agents end up.

Detroit lost to Boston because of poor relief pitching. Period.

No actually they lost because they stopped hitting. They actually stopped in September.
The relief pitching wasn't steller but they still should have overcome it as they did all season.

They did however walk away with some big hardware;
Cy Young - Scherzer with Verlander in 2011 2 out of the last three.
MVP - Cabrera(back to back) and three in a row with Verlander in 2011

looks like the rangers got the better end of the deal. ian kinsler was the best second baseman the rangers ever had and probably the most popular, will his absence be missed?
but to have a prince fielder heck we wanted him 2 years ago, were glad to have a prince fielder.

a lot of debating goin on at tha ballpark whether or not a new sandwich should be called "fielders choice" did detroit have one /

i would like to see the rangers add another bat, brian mccann and if their pitching stays healthy they should be contenders again next year

You can have him. He wore his welcome out in Detroit with no playoff production and an "I don't care" attitude.
This deal will be judged by the the way Detroit uses the money it saves on his fat contract.
Phat Prince will do well in homer friendly Arlington Park but what about when he returns to the Copa next October. Can you say Zero!

As for Kinsler he will ignite the Tigers lineup and set the table for Cabrera and Martinez.
Can you say 110 runs scored!

i did not think much of it at the time but the rangers took russell wilson in last years 5 rule draft.
it d0es not mean he'll be coming here hitting 40 hrs and batting over 300. for now just visiting with players and passing some of that winning attitude around.

it will be nice havin another super bowl winning quarterback in town, could make for a fun spring training.

at the moment my rangers are the hottest team in baseball after sweeping the yankees and have now won 5 games in a row. it was looking pretty dismal at the first of the season (still could be) with a new manager, players and unknowns. josh hamilton is set to return and start today with his former team. hamilton doesn't do much with other teams but mostly a fan favorite here in texas.

injuries have plagued the rangers over the last few years this bein no different.

im finally getting into the baseball spirit, its almost summer Go Rangers

Bautista finally got what was coming to him yesterday. The Texas Rangers never forgot his roid raged "bat flip" from last years playoffs.
Instead of taking his medicine like a man (plunked in the side) he decided to take out Odor at second base...
The "bat flip" turned into the "Helmet Sunglasses and Jaw Flip" as Odor rocked him with a right cross.
I hope he enjoyed his pablum this morning.

Spy, if you look at the link included, you'll notice it refers to The Amazin' Mets of 1986, the team that won the World Series when I lived in NY. There is no mention in my previous post about the 1969 team, simply because I am not talking about them.

If that is ok with you of course.

Llove - I get it, you are not a baseball guy.
The 69 team was nicknamed the "Amazin' Mets" not the 86 team.
As for your link what a horrible song.
No mention of Amazin' though.
Just honouring the right team.
If that is ok with you?
Enjoy the games.

I'm not a baseball guy? How would you know that? You know what happens when people assume.

Obviously you are one of those folks who like to argue and have the last word.

Let me repeat, slowly this time.....my first comment refers to the 1986 Mets team. I was there when it happened, therefore to me they are The Amazin' Mets because that's how they were called when they won.

I guess for you that is too difficult to understand, comprende?

If you don't know that the 69 Mets were the Amazin' Mets/Miracle Mets, than you are just not that much into baseball. Your confusion is that of a fair weather fan. I understand.

It's all good... even casual fans are welcome.

btw how is Cespedes doing this year.
That young pitcher, Michael Fulmer the Tigers got in return is doing great.

Amazin' (69) Mets Opening Day Starting Lineup;

Tommie Agee
Ken Boswell
Ed Charles
Rod Gaspar
Jerry Grote
Bud Harrelson
Cleon Jones
Ed Kranepool
Tom Seaver

I don't recall any of those names on the 86 roster

The Bad Guys (86) Mets Opening Day Starting Lineup
Sometimes know as "The Lucky Mets".

Lenny Dykstra
Wally Backman
Keith Hernandez
Gary Carter
Darrel Strawberry
George Foster
Howard Johnson
Rafael Santana
Dwight Gooden

See the difference?

The one thing that is clear is that you are the type of person who regardless of the topic being discussed, thinks they are always right, you need to have the last word, and you have a serious reading comprehension problem. I am done interacting with you.

No that is not true Llove... I think history is always right!
You have a serious "history" comprehension problem but your insults and little happy faces can always cover up right!
