Daddy Dearest (for all fathers out there)

Daddy dearest how I love you so,
You have taught me all the things I know,
You made me who I am today,
And my love for you will always stay,
Someday we might go out of touch,
But I will love you just as much,
You raised me from an infant,
And gave your love, every scent.

That is my father's day poem to all fathers,

well done. ok, cats huh,

Somebody's cat went missing last night,
Somebody's cat had a terrible fright,
Somebody's cat was very brave,
So many kind people his life tried to save.

No-one's name hung from his collar last night,
Just a strip of tape for reflecting the light,
But a small strip of tape can in no way compete,
With so many cars and a busy town street.

It's such a dangerous world outside for cats,
With fast cars and dogs and with poisoned rats,
Someone, somewhere by a window will wait,
Thinks: "He'll be home soon, though it's now late."

Just a number to call could have meant instead
Of kind strangers she could have held his head,
I wonder if she's sorry she let her cat roam,
When he could have been so safe in her home?

The morning sun would have warmed his soft fur,
As he sat on her lap to wash and to purr.
Somebody's cat gave death quite a fight,
When somebody's cat died late last night.

is this cheating, i keep going lol. i cant stop im lovin it. ok, this was all i came up with

Hunting his food a rival caveman crept
Through those dark woods, and marked him where he lay;
Cowered and crawled upon him as he slept,
Poising a mighty stone aloft to slay --
(A gaunt and hairy man with wolfish eyes.) . . .

Hope is everywhere
It is in the hand that holds yours entwining fingers
Where the scent of someones cologne lingers
long after youve said goodnight
It is a soul kiss after a fight
and a hug that says I forgive you in unspoken words
Hope is found in pain
when someone else says
Ive been there too
Or a phone call from a longtime friend
saying I was just thinking about you
Hope is found in everything
If you only know where to look
It is found in poetry,my favorite book
Hope is found believing in something greater than ones self
and looking in the eyes of someone
and not being able to ever imagine loving someone else
Hope is truth and beauty and feeling understood
Hope is what makes dreams comes true
when you thought they never could

You brought me to tears BCB

Your face
is beautiful to me
the lines around your eyes
trace back to a story of a million smiles
come and sit with me awhile
your hands though hardened by time
still hold me captive in infinate wonder and with the softness of love
Do you remember our first kiss
or the way we always said
some people would die
to know a moment of love like this
you are my final pice to my puzzle of truth
never to be stolen
by the outgrowing of youth
as long as we are together
our hearts will always be young
and you
will always be
my lovely ageless one

Hardened Hands

Hardened Hands

Stones rocks marble and granite.
Hard and cold,fragile and lovley.
Dust and water running the moisture away.
Wrinkled,cut and bruised.
Fingers wrapped in paper and tape.
Rough callused palms.
Pink soft finger tips.
Numbness setting in,feelings are lost.
Machine grease and oil penetrates to the blood.
A nail is pinched, the finger pounds!
The cold water hurts, but the pounding slows.
They rest only to waken sore.
I really just wanted to say i have very much enjoyed readin all yers poems.
There are some awesome people here!
Some of yous should get published.
Thanks for lettin me read them!

Drifting ... gently,
within the winds of time.
Having known his loves sweet caresses,
they are forever mine.

his hands,
his lips,
did love inspire,
his every grace my heart did fire.

As his eyes begin to sparkle,
my emotions start to glow,
as if to suddenly realize,
a self I didn’t know.

Theres many kinds of love,
this we both agree,
But just the vibrance of first love, .....
ads new mystery.

The rhythm of the rain
taps on my window
awakening my memory
I remember you so well
a memory I safely treaure in the attic of my mind
early spring ,walking in the rain
getting lost and laughing
we never fought once
only fought back the tears when you had to leave
If I wouldve known
that would be the last time
I would ever touch you
and whisper things
in your ear at night
and look in your eyes
to see a glimpse of heaven
reflected back at me
I wouldve kissed you alittle longer
held you alittle tighter
prayed alittle harder
when you needed it most
I never dreamed
we would be anything
but together
and in my heart we always will be
I just cant believe
youre in heaven,,you werent supposed to die before me
and i wonder if you can see me
and i wonder
if you miss me
and i wonder
why I cant even write this
without my eyes welling up
and if its possible to drown in an ocean of tears
if that will be my demise
You told me once
our love would be eternal
because truth lasts forever
and we are a part of one another now
the rhythm of the rain taps softly on my window
taps me softly on my shoulders when Im walking alone
and wishing with all my heart
I was walking with you
in the spring

It's wond'rous what a hug can do.
A hug can cheer you when you're blue.
A hug can say, "I love you so"
Or, "Gee, I hate to see you go"

A hug is, "Welcome back again! "
And "Great to see you!"
Or "Where've you been?"

A hug can soothe a small child's pain
And bring a rainbow after rain.
The hug! There's just no doubt about it,
We scarcely could survive without it.

No longer do you have to worry,
For a hug is the way to say "I'm sorry."
A hug delights and warms and charms,
It must be why we all have arms.

Hugs are great for fathers and mothers,
Sweet for sisters, as well for brothers
Chances are some favorite aunt
Loves them more than potted plants.

Kittens crave them
Puppies love them.
Heads of State
Are not above them.

A hug can break
The language barrier
And make the dullest day
Seem merrier.

No need to fret
About the store of 'em.
The more you give
The more there are of 'em

So stretch those arms without delay,

next up, hmmm, ok, catching a cheating husband or wife

I received this morning,
I can not tell you how happy I am.
It was not gift wrapped but it neatly placed.

I can not tell you the thrill I have,
I need to share it with you,
Please do not ask me why, but it is important.

Years have gone by,
Words unspoken,
Things not done,
I have wasted the years,
I have time and have accomplished nothing.

Never a day went by that I enjoyed the gift of today,
So here now I wish to share with you, my day.
Please share my joy,
I realize now, the day is no toy.
I realize now, today is a gift,
But tomorrow is never promised.
So enjoy today.

Some days are like that!!!

There are some days, when everything goes wrong
and I want to tear out my hair and scream!
Like today when the dishwasher leaked, dripping
water down in the basement. And I had no money to call a plumber
so I tried to fix it myself and I broke the pipes. . . .
Some days are like that!

ok, not one of the best lol, but considering.....

An Autistic Child

Everyone speaks of their world,
Even the best doctors try to understand,
But no one knows his.

No one can come in but him.
Only he has the key to allow you in,

Many try to reach him,
Many try to understand him,
All fail.

To enter his world,
You first forget about yours,

You must his world through his eyes,
You must know the code,
And finally, he shall let you in.

Me Me Me,

I do not know anyone with an autistic child; however, I did see this movie:

It is called "House of Cards" with Tommy Lee Jones and Kathleen Turner. In a nutshell, this movie is what exposed me for the first time to people diagnosed with autism. I have heard of autism before but never saw anyone with it or seen documentaries about it until I saw this movie. What I can tell you is that it opened my eyes.

The plot of the movie is this:

When Ruth Matthews's husband is killed in a fall at an archaeological dig, her daughter Sally handles her father's death in a very odd manner. As Sally's condition worsens, Ruth takes her to see Jake, an expert in childhood autism. Jake attempts to bring Sally out of her mental disarray through traditional therapy methods, but Ruth takes a different route. She risks her own sanity by attempting to enter her daughter's mind and make sense of the seemingly bizarre things that Sally does, including building a wondrous house of cards.

By seeing the movie, it clicked to me, that to find cure, we have to try to see the world through their eyes and only than can we understand anyone with autism. I recommend this movie to anyone who wants to understand autism or trying to reach out to someone.
