For future reference...and heck, it may not even be too late to still do such...when posting an event, follow these directions:
Go to FORUMS HOME
Under "General Discussion Plentyoffish Forums" click on PLENTYOFFISH GET TOGETHERS
Click on MISSOURI (or whichever state event is in)
Make sure you include the DATE, TIME, & LOCATION of the event in the SUBJECT LINE
Make sure you have the correct ZIP CODE of the event location
Include ALL info regarding the event in your post, such as costs (the fees involved cannot exceed those for the general public...in other words, you cannot host an event and charge a fee not otherwise charged, to POF members) Also, charity events are not permitted to be posted.
Click on POST and your thread will not only be in the correct forum, it will also be GREEN LINKED which allows for non-forum users to see it if they are signed up to receive news about local events. (I think they say that only 4% of attendees actually post in the forums!)
Hope this helps...and it is wonderful to see another willing host in the St. Louis area!
Edit...another advantage of this feature is that once you have hosted events through the green links, you can utilize the "Mass Mail" feature which allows you to send out a mass email to those signed up to your event and/or those within a certain mileage of your event. My last mass mail went out to 600+ people!
Lastly, it also allows you to start a post-party thread where people can share photos of the event! :O)
