I know someone must of covered this. But my thread search of the same name turned up nothing. So for sh*ts and giggles I thought why not ask about your individual favorites.

Is it "Love Story" with Redford and Allie that "love is never having to say" scene or Cary in An Affair to Remember when he goes to her appartment. My own tend to be any thing with Bacall God, she was the best, no question "you know how to whistle, you just put your lips together and blow" if that doesn't turn you on, then get viagra intravenously. Maybe your a Meg Ryan guy the scene in the park at the end of "You've got mail" and you ladies what is it that steams your mirror!!

For me it's "Say Anything"... a very forgettable movie but...

Someone standing outside your window in the night, with a boom box raised up over their head blasting out "In Your Eyes"...

I actually have that on my profile on another site, as what I want!

The thing that made me think of this was last night I was watching "The Bodyguard" with Costner and Houston, the scene at the airport, when she stops the plane and runs into his arms with that song playing.

Also going old school with some of those love scenes in Casablanca. Bob

edit: How much does the music play a part in this? Both in my case from Bodyguard and in Ghost, stirring music added to the drama.

Now thats a dreamy McSteamy question! The first movie to cross my mind was Family Man, when his wife lingered clutching, passionate in a good morning kiss as he goes off to work.
Those Christmas movies always "get" me! I'll have fun thinking on this one!

I know it may not qualify, but the scene in It's a Wonderful Life where Donna Reed and Jimmy Stewart
are coming back from the prom (where they fell in the pool) and he's smelling her hair....ggrrr! get's me everytime!
BTW great thread!

To touch on anti-epenema‘s post above, I find the scene in "Out of Africa" where Robert Redford’s character washes Meryl Streep’s character’s hair incredibly romantic. It could be due to the lighting, the acting, the actors’ on-screen chemistry, or perhaps a combination of everything, but that scene somehow left an indelible impression even after having seen the movie many times.

I completely agree with your choices!

And I can go on forever with this... heh.

Ghost... the pottery scene and the kiss scene at the end before he goes to heaven, with the Unchained Melody playing in the background.

The Notebook... definitely all the older couple scenes!

Breakfast at Tiffany's... kiss at the end... :)

The Bodyguard... obvious?

P. S. I love you.. i don't even know where to start with this one.

sooo many more i can't think of at the moment!

Let's depart from our usual choices for a moment, let's salute 2 great love story type movies from the other side of the pond, Britain. Both of these have good music and while there are many scenes in the first one, "Love Actually", a multi-storied group of different couples, in various stages of break ups, getting together, star crossed love, friendship and loss. Great music, good characters, great cast.

Next a small film with some touching moments and a comedic treatment of love, with some real insightful dialogue in the last 10 minutes of the film. "Love and other Disasters" with Brittany Murphy. Try this one, you'll enjoy it. Bittersweettx, you'll love the Breakfast at Tiffany's references. Bob

If I only had abrain I'd remember more than the love scene - on the kitchen table, or was it butcherblock. The couple feeling their marriage stretching outof existance in the rush of parenting, work, life ... re-discover their magic in trips to Europe. It's such a realistic picture of married love where everything you touch day in and day out is both ordinary and incredibly sexy!
What WAS the name of that movie. Was it Diane Keaton as the female lead?

I'll definitely be checkin out Love Actually, Love and Other Disasters and Bittersweettx.

I'm not big on most romantic films. Too mushy and contrived. I automatically avoid any film with Meg Ryan and Julia Roberts.

Nah, if I have to pick a great movie love scene, I'm gonna vote for any scene between Kermit and Miss Piggy in "The Muppet Movie" and "The Great Muppet Caper."

i melt when Maria dances with Capt. Von Trapp for the first time out on the veranda under the moonlight.
i adored the bumbling, poignant achingly pure love Parry had for Lydia in The Fisher King.
and this may not be a real love moment, per se, but the moment that the dying wife of the warden allows John Coffey to touch her and draw the cancer out of her body and afterward, the beatatific light of a truly taboo (for that time frame) kind of innocent love that passed between the two of them was the embodiment of love, at least for me. i guess i'm kinda strange. i see love moments in the strangest places.....

like when the entire gallery stands as Gregory Peck is leaving the courtroom and the elderly black man tells scout to stand because her father is passing....

In Pretty Baby, i love the moment when dunn visits maggie for that last time, was that an act of murder? no....that was the most moving act of love...... and when we find out what cuisle mo chroi meant..... greatest love moment, yes.

I love the scene in Steel Magnolias when the mother breaks down at the grave of her daughter...... a mother's love and loss was never captured quite so movingly.... except maybe in Terms of Endearment, when Aurora is falling a part, black roots showing, caring for her dying daughter...when she and Jack Nicholson grab each other's asses, when she goes berserk because they won't give emma her pain meds, when emma says goodbye to her children....those are love moments to me

In the Deerhunter when Michael tries that one last time to save Nick...that was a true love scene

When the totally recalcitrant son finally realizes how much he truly truly loves his dad in Life As a House

In a Color Purple , when Celie is touched tenderly, and kissed lovingly for the very first time in her life by Shug..... when Celie finally finally is looking into her sister's eyes again, and meeting her children after a lifetime..... when Shug marches into her father's church and sings her heart out... God is trying to tell you something....and her father moves from behind the pulpit and she flings her arms around his neck "See daddy, sinners have soul too" and he slowly brings his arms around her....that is the greatest love moment that sent me weeping to the floor.

Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind - the scene when Joel was in bed with Clementine and assuaged her insecurities with kisses and a string "pretties". I can feel his desperation to hang on to the moments when he was in love with her, begging to save at least this one precious memory. That was a very touching moment for me.

Body Heat - William Hurt and Kathleen Turner - very steamy film noir for the 80's. Sort of a modern day Double Indemnity. Two brilliant actors in a story of a very steamy wife and a sleazy lawyer and a plot to do away with her rich husband for the proceeds from his will.
Achingly sensual, wickedly conceived and (for you lawyers out there) features,as a major plot twist, the Rule Against Perpetuities.

One of my faves is in Bull Durham, where Kevin Costner and Susan Sarandon couple. They kiss...he undoes her garters...they make it in the tub...he ties her to the bed and then paints her toenails...they dance in the living room. Fun stuff.

OK, let's talk Tom Hanks for a moment.Great scenes "You've got mail" in the park at the end when Meg Ryan sees him coming into the park with Brinkley. "Sleepless in Seattle" on top of the Empire State Building, reminiscent of how many would have had "An Affair to Remember" end. Was it "Castaway" the Fedex plane crash movie, 2 scenes there, the kissing scene with Helen Hunt in the rain, very bittersweet and the end with him delivering the package. Hope springs eternal, does he follow that redhead back to her farm where she builds scultures? Also in some weird way "Big" when just before he turns back into a little boy.

Aside from that, for great endings the 2 Sabrina's Bogie and Audrey hepburn and Harrison Ford and ??? At any rate the end in Bogie's movie on the ship or Harrison's in Paris.

Keep it coming folks your doing soooo GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Bob

There's a movie called the Secretary with James Spader in it, who is a naughty lawyer and has kinky affairs with his secretaries. It's definitely a unique movie. I love the way it ends. And I love the scene where they both realize they love each other, and the scene is of them just gazing at each sex involved. I think it's an awesome scene.

That rocked in Say Anything, John Cusak standing there with the boombox. That was pretty cool. It drove her nuts while she was trying to sleep.
There are so many scenes from many movies that have great movie love scenes.
