Clorox detox bathPage 1 of 1
I"m a steel worker who works around a lot of hazardous chemicals. I'm looking for a way to do a detox to try and get some of this shit out of my system. I've heard of a clorox detox bath that people say works real well. Anyone else heard or know anything about this? I've looked on a lot of sites and can't get a real idea on what it is or how much clorox ect.

try Standard Process whole food supplements. Go to a place that does muscle testing. Clorox is a poison all by itself and will make matters worse. You need something to pull it out of your body. I can't think of the name of it now... but they'll know.

Oh my Gawd, I clean my bathroom with Clorox. Don't put it in or on your body. The only way I've heard of using Clorox internally is to kill germs in water to make it potable. That was a long time ago, I think they have special pills for that now. Maybe a high colonic would work better? Ask a doctor.

No clue what that is I suggest you take Chlorella and Spirulina, not clorox. Chlorella is well known to detoxify the body. But try to eat healthy avoid processed, sugar and high fat foods. You should also take Milk Thistle for the liver, toxic chemicals are hard on the liver. Both of these items can be bought at your local health food store.

Epson Salts is your friend......

It's inexpensive and is recommended by many, including those in the medical profession, for many uses, including relieving tired muscles and for 'drawing' swelling, toxins, and other things from the body.......
I am a Big Bubble bath person, and mix it with bubble bath, various bath salts, and recently some sea salt.......

Now I haven't tried this yet, primarily because I forgot to get some from the grocery store yesterday afternoon, but Apple Cidar Vinegar is recommended to help draw toxins out of the body, and ACV has been used for centuries internally as well as externally.....

A friend of mine made this suggestion in a group I am in:

"Detox your body and feel great!!!!
A great recipe for a bath that detoxs the body was given to us by a napopath friend. 2 cups of apple cider vinegar and 1/2 cup of epsom salt. Toss isn the tub once you have started filling it with water. Jack uses this in the airtub, but you can use it in a regular bathtub too. Certainly a cheap altrnative to costly bath products. I buy the apple cider vinegar in gallon jugs and watch when epsom salts go on sale and stock up! "

Good Luck!!

I've heard of heard of people adding from about 2 tablespoons to 1 cup of Clorox to their bath water...

I just couldn't and wouldn't do...sensitive areas...

The water would have diluted the Clorox at the amounts above....

I like the idea of the internal detox though....

Dunno that anything that can get heavy metals out of your system, but I do know that activated charcoal is sometimes administered to folks who have consumed something poisonous. Works in my fish tank, too.

There's a plethora of detox regimens out there; ask in your local health food store (one of them is drinking several cups of olive oil....eeeeeeeehhh).

see lots online, such as:

Try it you might like it but drink it on an empty stomach or you will be burping it all day :) I would stay away from the clorox and go for the green anything with chlorophil is good for the body.

Do not use bleach. It can cause burns with long exposure instead try an epson salt bath.
Salt detoxs the body as well as clean the skin and epson salt is cheap. Read the instructions on the carton and you will feel better in no time at all.

I've heard of a clorox bath and it was one cup of bleach to a bathtub full of water. I never tried it, but I remember where I read it. Here's a link that will help you find it. It has several sections on therapeutic bathing.

I have tried the apple cider vinegar and the epsom salts and they were both helpful in recovering from days of heavy physical activity.

You might benefit from Chelation.

Chelation is a process where a drug is used to pull heavy metals out of the body, like mercury, lead and arsenic. It is usually done with an IV (intravenously) but there are oral versions now available.

You need a Doctor to prescribe this and you need to be carefully monitored while receiving chelation because it can also pull necessary calcium and electrolytes out of your body, and you can get some more damage from the toxins as they are leaving your body. Only go to a Doctor with experience in doing chelation. Many Doctors also will not do it because its use for heart disease, Autism and life extension is controversial. However, it is the main way to treat lead poisoning in children.

Its usually done with the chemical Dimercaptosuccinic acid, or DMSA. DMSA is also called succimer and is sold under the brand name Chemet.

There is a nutritional supplement called alpha-lipoic acid (ALA) which can help detoxify the liver and pancreas.

I know someone who does the bleach bath quite often and it hasn't hurt him. Did a major job on leaving bleach spots on the towels afterwards.

Hey there! I am from the old South, and we have a remedy for detoxing the body safely. Please don't laugh, my grandparents used this once a week, because granddaddy was a coal miner, and grandma made him take it. Buy a container of Epsom Salts, available at any drug store and of course Wally World. Mix one teaspoon of the salts with 1 cup very warm water. Dissolve the salts, then drink the solution. It will "clean " your blood , and your colon. If you don't believe me, and I am sure there are some that won't, please read the side of the package. It will tell you the same thing. I detox my body this way once a month. I feel so great afterwards.

If you would like to go to the chemical route, the above stores also sell colonics in pill form, over by the vitamins. I tried one but couldn't stay out of the bathroom. Gas was very painful, and I just felt awful the entire 7 days.

No to Clorox, good luck, stay safe.

If your car wasnt running well, would you get it a pain job? No.

You should actually get a chemical/toxicity analysis performed. Even if you have no insurance, its better than throwing away money on weak herbal "cures".

The con men got into the herbal business and drove most of the REAL guys out of the business under the Natural Foods Act. The health promoters wanted to legally be able to tell people what herbs to take for which ailments without being accused of saying it was a cure for anything. Well, the restriction was relaxed too far under the act, and con men like Kevin Trudeau and his big fat book of lies are confusing people and making them sick, and getting rich off them. Other places sell herbs so weak, they dont work.

If you do have poisoning or toxicity, chelation therapy in most cases wont work, and is terribly expensive. There are specific drugs that can help remove lead, mercury and other heavy metals from your body.

Talk to your doctor, then another doctor, a specialist, and dont think anything is a quick fix. If you are getting chemicals in your system, check with OSHA as to what your employer should be doing to minimize the risks. PPE should be the LAST line of defense, not the first. Engineering and administrative controls to eliminate or minimize your exposure should come before rubber gloves or you seeking a remedy.

If you've been in the industry for 10 years, a 1-day "cure" wont do anything for you. They are just stealing your money.

I can appreciate you wanting to detox being a steel worker and all, but...

in your profile you mention your love for tattoos. Did you know that 8 ink manufacturer's have just been sued for having high levels of lead and other crazy crap in their tattoo dyes? In other words....more heavy metals. Even if you did get a tattoo artist that has relatively safe dyes, that's all it is...relatively safe. With each poke, you are still exposing yourself to some toxins.

There are heavy metal chelation therapies, which, will run you a good chunk of money, are 3 hours in length every time you sit down to have one, but work and are well worth a person's health.

all the best and good luck.

Wouldn't bathing in Clorox just exchange one toxic chemical for another on your body?

Here is what their MSDS has to say:

DANGER: CORROSIVE. May cause severe irritation or damage to eyes and
skin. Vapor or mist may irritate. Harmful if swallowed. Keep out of reach of

Doesn't sound like something I would want to bathe in.
