What turns you on?Page 1 of 4    (1, 2, 3, 4)
What instrument turns you on? Is there a certain instrument that gets you going? For me, it's the cello. I don't know why, but the sound is so...romantic, passionate. It's not an instrument I play, but it's one I love listening to. Spanish guitar also turns my crank just right.

The banjo , when I can't sleep at night , I sit on the balcony and play all night , if I turn down the amp , I can hear my neighbors cheering me on . One day I'm going to buy a banjo tuner .

Do voices count as an instrument? If so, I would have to vote for Leonard Cohen... Annie Lenox if I were a dude... well, maybe even if I'm not a dude... that lady's got lungs!

The violin, hands down.
The mourning sounds it can emit are hauntingly beautiful, and at the same time it has the capacity to stir my soul with its high pitched crescendos and wonderful vibrato.... Ahhhhhhh!

Electric guitars, I know it's a cliché. But guys with guitars can make guitar noises, and they're doing something nobody else can do for me.

Except girls with guitars, I suppose. Haven't looked into that really...

Clarinets, particularly bass clarinet
I used to dismiss as something for choir practice. I've been hearing a lot of classical and jazz where there's a clarinet making the most bizarre and haunting sounds.
