The album Guns N Roses have had in the works for 14 years. Does anyone think its ever gonna be released, do you think it will be worth the wait? I heard a rare copy was on ebay but it was fake. Would you buy it?

I'm a huge G-N-R fan, but no album is worth waiting 14 years for. This is simply ridiculous.

This album has now become infamous for all the time it is taking, and no matter how good it might be, it will never outweigh the infamy behind it.

I doubt they'll ever get their money back on the thing. Rumour has it they've spent millions on the thing. There've been stories just this year having them working on a exclusive retail store sales deal (Wal-mart or one of those chains, can't remember).

But it really is up to Axel what is mindset is like when it comes to a release date.

Even with that said, it won't the classic lineup and it will just be a glorified Axel Rose solo record.

I've followed what's been leaked for the past several years regarding this album. There are quite a few outtakes and demos floating out there. Unfortunately, nothing to write home about.

Nothing classic, nothing infamous..... a few tracks with Buckethead that are interesting, but no Paradise City, no Welcome to the Jungle......

Bleah!

Axl is his own worst enemy. It was bad timing with him wearing his hair in corn rows and causing riots with no show appearances. He just wasn't ready..... and will he ever be?

Granted, the man has talent. GNR is now Classic. But it's highly doubtful that Axl will ever hit the creative heights he once did.

It was great while it lasted.

Somehow, I don't think we will see Axl ever doing the County Fair circuit with has-been hair bands.... but a double bill with the geriatric Ted Nugent would be fun to watch!

Being Bipolar is a ****.

I will probably die of old age, before it is released. I remember a few years back, he had released snippets of a couple songs. We did some calculations and if he kept releasing snippets at the same rate, the whole complete album would be released by 2260 or something.

I think he needs to work more on growing back his eyebrows.

...maybe it will be released (realized?) on the day that he dies?? Maybe it's a new age "Smile"?

Supposedly a Nov 23 release date via Best Buy. I'll believe when it happens.

Humorous story from Billboard....I love my Dr. Pepper, but wish it were Mr. Pibb:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Many have tried, but so far nobody has been able to pry the decade-in-the-works Guns N' Roses album "Chinese Democracy" from the hands of lone remaining original member Axl Rose.

Now, Dr Pepper thinks it's up to the challenge. The soft drink company says it will give a free can of Dr Pepper to "everyone in America" (excluding ex-GNR members Slash and Buckethead) if "Chinese Democracy" arrives anytime during the calendar year 2008.

"It took a little patience to perfect Dr Pepper's special mix of 23 ingredients, which our fans have come to know and love," Dr Pepper director of marketing Jaxie Alt says. "So we completely understand and empathize with Axl's quest for perfection -- for something more than the average album. We know once it's released, people will refer to it as 'Dr Pepper for the ears' because it will be such a refreshing blend of rich, bold sounds - an instant classic."

Dr Pepper has also launched a blog in conjunction with its offer. GNR's label, Interscope, was unavailable for comment at deadline.

"Chinese Democracy" was most recently scheduled for release on March 6, 2007, but promptly vanished from the schedule without a new date being set. It will be the first Guns N' Roses album since the 1993 covers collection "The Spaghetti Incident"; in the ensuing decade, the group has burned through a reported $13 million in recording expenses.

The thing with this album is many of the songs have already been leaked in one form or another, plus many of these songs are being performed live. From what I've gathered, Axl is hoping the original lineup can come back together and re-release/re-record all of these songs that he's done with Buckethead, Paul Tobias and so many others. I think, if they do reunite the classic lineup, they'd come out with a CD of new tunes and take all the Chinese Democracy stuff and put it on some Box Set. It seems to be that the only two people preventing the reunion are Axl & Slash. Adler, McKagan and Stradlin have all said sure, they are open for it.

As I've said for years, judging by the leaked stuff I've heard, I think it would be awesome if it ever did come out. But it's NEVER COMING OUT. EVER.

i have 14 songs on my profile, coming from the new album and yes i do believe it will be released, and they have not been working on "democracy for 14 years lol, slash didnt leave GNR till 1996 closer to 1997 and slash never worked on a new record with GNR so at best they have been working on it 11 years, still along time, but go to my profileand you will be able to listen to 14 songs that will be on the new album, its not as good as i was hopeing but still a pretty good record from what i got from it. the best songs in my opinion are IRS, Madagascar, the blues.

I noticed some of the Chinese Democracy demos have that damn Vocoder effect in the vocals. I hope that's gone now, or this album is going to sound horribly dated rather than groundbreaking.

I got this cd about a month or more ago.

Its ok. If your expecting the typical Guns N' Roses sound then go buy Velvet Revolvers cds. This sounds nothing like GNR. It has one or two good tracks. Axel sounds like he's loosing his voice.

I am trying to force myself to listen for old time's sake but time gets more precious as I get older. Sure won't be wasting my money next week.
