Notice: Forums will be shutdown by June 2019

To focus on better serving our members, we've decided to shut down the POF forums.

While regular posting is now disabled, you can continue to view all threads until the end of June 2019. Event Hosts can still create and promote events while we work on a new and improved event creation service for you.

Thank you!

OP- this may surprise you to know, that not every region has the *67 ability. Many portions of the continental US do NOT. So not everyone CAN block the call. Which is why out of safety concerns some people DO hesitate to phone early in with an online/unknown relationship.

Don't make assumptions based on your life and what you know and expect them to be the standard for "across the board". You'll be wrong every time.

Ok........ for arguments sake though.. lets say everybody can block their number... why are people still hesitant to hear a real life voice?

Why would we do this? For fun? Giggles? I'm not seeing the enjoyment factor in discussing this topic just for the hypothetical fun of it and clearly neither is any one else.

I agree with the one person...if your calling me then you have my number don't block yours. I've spoke to a few people over the phone early into contact an they blocked their numbers. Needless to say I don't speak with them any more...because they were looking for more than just hearing my voice. Skype is good to hear a voice or even yahoo messenger you can talk over a mic and use a cam to see the person even better than a cell phone. It don't waist minutes if they aren't who they claim to be and you can see them before you set a meeting. But when it comes to phone calls I prefer someone honest enough to show where they are calling from.
