What works for you when you're ticked off? I know especially for working out, it helps to get agression out and listening to certain music does it for me too. Some of Evanescence songs, or HIM, Apocolyptica (sp?) and Linkin Park's Numb are some tunes that help.

What's your pick for when your mood is less than pleasant?

I listen to Korn and heaps of it! System of a Down as well. They are great for singing along at the top of my lungs and VOILA at the end I feel much better :)

All my cleaning music is pretty hard as well because I hate it lol. I clean to Linkin Park and Prodigy and I just get right in there and clean the crap outta my place and at the end feel like a burden is lifted lol.

Probably the most famous example is John Lennon on his 1970 album (J.L./P.O.B.).

there's so many and I don't actually listen to them when I'm angry, I usually listen to something acoustic.

Angry music that I listen to when ticked off.... hmm (and sometimes it's not even really "angry" musicians but it works for the moment.

Machine Head (this one especially)
Protest the Hero
Demon Hunter
All That Remains
As I Lay Dying
Mute Math
Fear Factory
The Used
Killswitch Engage
Bullet For My Vallentine
Alice In Chains
(new age- haha)
Tori Amos
Rammstein (haven't listened to this in forever tho)
Listen to some Christian music too. That seems to help too. But mainly the above.

I listen to Johnny Cash & Waylon Jennings when I'm pissed off.

Then I listen to Motley Crue and the "Black" Metallica cd. Great stuff.

Porcupine Tree's Wedding nails or Gravity Eyelids.

Killswitch Engage
The Prodigy ( Their Law or Spitfire )

Ever try classical when pissed off? Gustav Holst... the planets suite... Mars the Bringer of War works nicely.

Yes, I said Johnny Cash. The thread asked "what do you listen to when you are ticked?", not "what type of angry music do you listen to when you are ticked". There is a HUGE difference.

Try listening to Johnny Cash "live from Folsom Prison" next time you are seriously ticked off. It will calm you quickly, and if you have the right brainwaves, you will listen to the words and of what Johnny is singing about.

All these other bands that people have listed like "Lamb of god", "slipknot", and all that other crap is NOISE, not music. It makes people who are angry even MORE angry and destructive. Wonder why people kill, do drugs, drink, and beat one another? Suppossed "musical" artists with junk cd's.

Alice in Chains - Angry Chair
Devo - Love Without Anger
David Bowie - Look Back in Anger
Styx - Angry Young Man
The Doors - Love Her Madly
Scorpions - I'm Going Mad
J. Geils Band - Rage in the Cage
Angry Anderson - Suddenly
Rage Against the Machine

Wonder why people kill, do drugs, drink, and beat one another?

So they can go to Folsom and hear Johnny Cash.

I don't see the irony.

Lamb of God
Black Label Society
Acid Bath
Iced Earth
Kingdom of Sorrow
Amon Amarth
Machine Head

And those are some of the bands I listen to when I'm "angry" or need to get psyched up for something.

If I'm pissed, then I try to calm down with triphop or ambient music. Morcheeba, Zero 7, DJ Shadow, etc. to name a few.

If I don't want to be calm, or I want to get hyped, I listen to breakcore or gabber artists.
