| Tom Watson at 59, can he pull off a British Open win?Page 1 of 1 | It really is amazing that he is playing so well. Even to be leading after the 3rd round.
Who thinks he will pull this off tomorrow?
Goes to show how one can play golf all your life.
Is there any sport that one can win or compete in such a way?
Foreman came back and fought in his 40's.... But 59? ...and I know taking punches is a bit more than swinging a club, but you have to hand it to him.
I hope he wins tomorrow.

Westwood in a little trouble on 17. He must make birdie. You're gonna miss a great finish. Come on tommy...one time baby. k 3 way tie now. If Tom makes birdie on 17 he's in

That stuff is unforgiving. Cink was awesome though and this was his tournament. Playing the way he did on the back 9 and in the playoff... just incredible.

such a great Open - thanks to Tom Watson for a really great weekend of viewing!
Towards the end Watson played like the average golfer. Now the older golfer's will get out their clubs and head to the links. You gave it a great run at it Tom.

What a heartbreaker for Watson. Arguably worse than Jean van de Velde
not even close...velde needed a 6 (double bogey) on 18 to win it. He could have used a 8 iron all the way down the fairway and got a 6. Instead he pulled out the driver, then wanted to go for the green instead of laying up...
Watson didnt do anything that was that stupid like Jean...

Only thing come close to Velde's collaspe in the 1999 Brithish Open Championship would be Roy McAvoy losing his open championship in the movie "Tin Cup"
