Ok- so today at the beach I saw a guy with an amazing body, but he did not have the greatest face..and it left me thinking. So here's my question for you guys and girls out there.

Would you rather have the person with the great body and the eeeh face. Or a beautiful face and so-so body?? Just curious?

I might be a bit lenient on the face, but honestly - I like both to match or I pretty much pass...

Of course beyond the physical I look to see if there's anything else of value before I make a choice to consider him for anything substantial.

Personality is a separate issue. Do you not judge celebrity's beauty without hardly knowing anything about them?

To me, the face is more important.

Seeing a guy on a beach and having him would be so different for me. You see, when I get to know somebody, their personality affects everything. It can make them beautiful or picture-of-Dorean-Gray-ish. And I mean the "after" picture of Dorean Gray. And I think a lot of my feeling along those lines focus on the effect of his personality on his face.

On the beach, however, I don't know anything about his personality yet. So I think I would admit that a guy's body catches my attention more. It's a bigger target to watch than catching glimpses of his face.

Not sure if that made sense, but there it is.

I don't see what you are getting at with judging someone's looks in your example a celeb. The question I read from the OP was which would you want. Absolutely personality plays a major part in what I want. Looks are secondary, personality is a deal breaker.

I like an all around attractive person, but probably not in the way you'd think. Someone who walks tall and doesn't hang thier head, or moves/talks with confidence really is attractive. You can also tell if the person smiles all the time, which I find extremely attractive.

but I suppose if I had to choose, an attractive face is a little more important, but it really is only attractive if they are comfortable in thier own skin. =)

As far as initial attraction goes... body first. The face has to be there on some level but it's secondary for me. Again, we're talking "initial attraction" and in this particular case... at the beach.

Personality is a whole other issue. Then the guy with the great sense of humor wins!! I am just talking about looks -initial attraction you know. The really hot guys always have and always will intimidate me a bit

For me, it all starts with her body. If a woman is slim/slender, I am going to find her attractive, regardless of facial features. Oddly, though, most women who are slender, also tend to have nice hair and features.

I've got to agree with michalrallen on this one - plus, the body will go sooner than the face. A man's eyes are what makes my heart go pitter patter.

...and, of course, this is all dependent on the personality. I've met some real stunners that as soon as they opened their mouth, lost ALL attractiveness.

Hey- I never said personality doesn't matter. But when was the last time you looked at someone from across a room and thought- wow I bet he/she has a good personality, is smart or could make me laugh (unless in a comedy club). I believe even the most unattractive become more attractive when they have a great personality and the most attractive people can be downright ugly.

I learned from having a not-so-attractive girlfriend in college that looks just aren't that important. She just wasn't pretty, but she was absolutely fantastic in bed, had a dynamite personality, and went on to Duke Medical School.

The funny thing is that I would have kept her in a heartbeat, but I don't think she wanted boyfriend baggage while she left to school.

Still, the relationship taught me that beauty is really skin deep and I've look at less attractive women so much differently every since. In fact, I've come to the realization that 'ugly' women are almost always nicer and better girlfriends than 'attractive' women ... I think I even know why, they try harder!
