Notice: Forums will be shutdown by June 2019

To focus on better serving our members, we've decided to shut down the POF forums.

While regular posting is now disabled, you can continue to view all threads until the end of June 2019. Event Hosts can still create and promote events while we work on a new and improved event creation service for you.

Thank you!

Let patience be your best friend. Ignore the ones that only wanna play and try to focus on the ones that seem more serious. All the best!

There's nothing wrong with wanting a relationship, but you're going to find few men your age looking for the same thing....try dating older guys?

What's so right about wanting a relationship? What are the benefits for a man? Men are expected to pay for dates, for women it's optional. If the woman gets pregnant she has all the power to either have the baby or get an abortion. If she chooses to have the baby he cannot choose to not support it. If there's a divorce he usually has to pay alimony, she rarely does. If they get married all of his property becomes theirs. While it's true that her property also becomes theirs, he usually has more poperty to start out and has more to lose in a divorce. The only thing the guy derives from the relationship is regular sex, which becomes less frequent and less interesting over time.

So what is it about a relationship that's so good for the man that he should be willing to sacrifice his autonomy?

They stop talking to you because they DON'T want a relationship. If you're looking for the short answer.

Longer answer involves admitting to yourself that you're coming off strong and placing the responsibility of living up to the boyfriend role on guys that are probably just looking to get to know you. If I know a girl for all of a week and she starts talking about wanting a relationship, I'm going to turn around and run too.
