How about a Grilled Chicken Orzo Spinach salad? Although you say you are tired of pasta, this might be different and is pretty tasty:

package of pre-cooked grilled chicken strips
1 (16 ounce) package uncooked orzo pasta
1 (10 ounce) package baby spinach leaves, finely chopped
1/2 pound crumbled feta cheese
1/2 red onion, finely chopped
3/4 cup pine nuts
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon ground white pepper
1/2 cup olive oil
1/2 cup balsamic vinegar

Cook the orzo according to the directions and drain. Transfer to large salad bowl mixing with the rest of the ingredients. Toss with the olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Refrigerate and serve chilled.

Cook the orzo according to the directions and drain.

That should be 'Cook the orzo according to the directions, drain, rinse with cold water'.

Agree with all posts - but what about making garlic bread and taking it along..
(do preparing at home, foil, then heat at friends house)

Buon appetite!
